My first jail as an OSG was Risley before becoming an officer. Loved my time there in 2004 but it was extremely bad for drugs and there use to be lines over every night from the surrounding fields. Been told it’s been a shithole for a good number of years.

Absolutely loved this video i related to everything that was said... have experienced almost everything he has ( except working women's prison )..... 12 months in this job and i very good at the job i be my self i care to much want to help and prisoners show me So much respect because i treat them as normal human beings... which alot of officers dont seem to like... CM told.me to my face im not a very good officer why did i apply im mot tough enough ect ect... when i got assulted my first one it frightened me and i was questioned about my performance because i didnt hit or push or used any physical violence back to the prisoner.... I know im not tough i suffered traumatic Childhood abuse... but that abuse never made me turn violent made me more an empathic caring lovin positive person. And i dont care if its patients in a Hospital or prisoners in a prison i willl do everything i can to help turn there life around make them feel better help them guide them listen... i greet every prisoner with a smile and they told me that smile makes a big difference in there day and there thought process... can instantly change from a negative to a positive. I have a big conscious and I know how bad mental health is... thats the biggest problem in prisons thats what needs proper care and support.

Foils easy to get just give the one of the cooks a stamp “stamp sized peice of paper worth £10” which is as he mentioned at 18:35. Glad my life’s changed just before I turn 30 this year. Took me best part of my teenage years/early adulthood. In and out of rehabs , small prison sentences and just pure misery. Been missing these ones, like the short videos aswell but enjoy it when you bring guests on 👏

Grizzly Rizley. It had a realy bad reputation for suicide, disproportionately high numbers of young lads committing suicide that were on remand.

@RossNaylor-uq4jp 2 ай бұрын
Its weird how it's usually the younger prisoners who commit suicide ,I have been on the same wing as a few suicides in h.m.p Perth it used to be really bad for young lads jumping off the landings when there was no safety nets and hanging themselves,the worst part is the ones i know of were easily preventable the sad thing is some of these young lads were only serving remands and were due to be out again in a week or two. I had a mate commit suicide and he only had a month left to serve I got a scare the day he killed himself , that morning I thought I had actually seen my mate outside my cell but turns out he was already dead,we always do a donation amongst all the prisoners to buy a wreath and card for the graveside r.i.p all you young lads who are not with us today.

I'd buy some of my old personal officers a fkn house let alone a pint. I've cried with an officer that had a pint thrown in his face because he wanted to leave the culture after decades of being the nutty one and all he wanted to do was go to church find God and try put right 3 fkd marriages and get to know his kids. He was in his 60s. The service is as hard as the bird. Peace to you both x

The strange thing is people would say its not right but as women need women officers men need male officers. I had an arm wrestle with an officer in Elmley and beat him, but on the rematch he annialated me. Elmey probs even worse now but it was interaction in bad bad situation. There was another officer mad about cars im mad about bikes. I was desperate to see something on the latest mad kawasaki and he took the time to print of a few pages on the specs and reviews. I know for fact neither was on the on the take. Officers at their wits end but found a way. Both younger my sort of age. Both learnt there trade in diffrent jails but ulimatley working under some old bastard that had 30 years plus service. And this general pop not lifer landings. They had more balls than half the soppy 2 bit gangsters. But i dont for minute underestimate how taxing it was to be that way. I know they told me. I leave with this as young man facing a long term the right officers as the right time meant i had wonderful times in the visit room and politley an officer told us to be a little bit quieter because me and folks were litterally pissing ourselves laughing. Even the officer giving us a minor bollocking was starting to crack up. I was a pretty good prisoner but i frequentlty found myself getting done for hooch and distilllation and masterminding amounts of food being robbed from the staff canteen it was almost as profitable as drugs. Im from salford always going to take the piss but good officers let my folks know just by the fact they were professionals that this is good jail. Basically people being humane to facilitate as best they can looking after difficult people. Sam id like to say if you have an email to the channel and if i get the time i work of lot hours, id like send some stories, maybe ask a few questions about a few jails ive been too. Dont want to be on the channel simple as, but as islowly find my peace with system your videos help. For fcks sake im listening to a screw again!. I dont do social media ive been away a while and i gather this is public domain probs not best place to ask, but if you have an email for the channel id like help cons,staff,chaplins,education,probation etc etc in reporting some success in a bleak world. Its debatable but to me the prison service is the fundamental socical care. Give me an email to channel. No need to reply ive got ive got bad but i did do 13, not that long as lifer, but i did observe for 13. Nuff love x

it's far more dangerous to be a delivery driver, it's easy to be a screw, a male one even. i've seen it first hand how so in HMP belmarsh and HMP preston how much the screws loved the lockdowns and converted every prison in the UK to a cat A dump. also says as much of the screws how they treated the inmates. give free pass for muslim extremism but attacked anybody reasonable, easy targets for men for home problems. screws are cancer, aside their governer, they facilitate extremism and are the cause of the problem. as an aside, they dehumanise the natives for a fat pay packet while caving to overseas interest, short sightedly.
