I still want to see a belt fed machine shotgun. Highly impractical I know but still awsome!

Great for taking out FPV drones.

GTA TBOGT introduced me to this wonderful weapon with both it's normal 12 gauge and the explosive ones. It was the best weapon. Unsurprised the real life version, while still cool, isn't widely used. Looks extremely bulky.

They should use this on a mount against drones.

Semi-automatic shotguns have been around since before WW1, the Browning Auto-5 for instance was in use with some militaries during and after WW1, before that there was the Winchester Model 1897 and even it was capable of "slam firing" rounds where you simply hold down the trigger and pump the action in rapid succession for quick follow up shots, the narrator kinda makes it sound like auto-loading shotguns have only been around for like 30 years when it's been over 100

The main reason why militaries don't adopt automatic shotguns is due to how shotguns are mainly used for breaching and unlocking doors. They use some special door breaching rounds that only requires like, what, 3-4 rounds at most? They don't need automatic shotguns because there's no point for them. You aren't going to kill any people with a shotgun On top of that, your regular shotgun like the Benelli M4 could hit targets up to 75 metres with #00 buckshot, but the AA-12, even with the FRAG-12 rounds, only hits 50 metres. I think you can see where I'm going with this

Shotguns have been used at least since WW1 (and WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan) for close-quarters combat and room clearing. The SPAS 12 was particularly popular in Yugoslavia.

You will need them again very soon for trench warfare. Automatic shotguns would scare off an breaching parties but it would also be very useful for an attacker in such a scenario. Now if they invented a system that could belt-feed 12 gauge rounds and have it functional, it would be terrific (and terrifying).
@Lavabird8273 ай бұрын
@@swedhgemoni8092 For trench warfare, there is no real need for shotguns anymore on that sector either. Sure, shotguns can be used, but a more effective tool would be to use an assault rifle, carbine, or LMG as there are more rounds you can put in compared to a shotgun. Would you rather have 30 rounds of a small, lightweight, and penetrative round, or 8 heavy, bulky, and less effective platform? In this instance of the AA-12, a standard 20 round magazine is quite literally a drum magazine, something that militaries don't usually adopt or bring out for deployments. Also, don't think that just because a gun looks scary, it is going to ward off a ton of enemies. Chances are, when the breach team makes entry (which involves at least 4-5), they are going to sprawl out, go to each corner of the room, and will gun you down before you can finish off all the enemies. They probably won't notice the gun until they finish clearing the room.

Against drones it maybe become handy!
@swedhgemoni809219 күн бұрын
@@killerkraut9179 Yes, this is one use as well although I'll be honest, I'd be happy if they increased the effective range because you'd only get 100-150 m at most and an FPV would cover that in no time.
