Hi, am gonna address what you said in few words as a Rwandan who lives here (not visiting or lives abroad). Rwanda is not a paradise of’couse and am sure the country keeps improving. The only confusion for someone who does not live in Rwanda, is that they might expect “democracy” to be imported as it is in Kenya, West or anywhere. We had a very dark history where Rwandans themselves killed their brothers and sisters! And this is just 30 years ago! So, that ideology is still there even tho it’s in few people mostly fled the country. So in one way or another, anyone might use the pretext of “democracy” and try to play around, we honestly can’t afford to play around like some other countries do. Saying that if you criticise gov you and your entire generation is killed, I don’t think anyone with sense would even take that seriously, it just show you that that person saying that, is just trying hard to paint a picture - I encourage you to ask for facts, and then check those facts, if someone who jailed (or …) by the gov, investigate what they were involved in really and you will have your answers. Btw no gov in the world would allow you to threaten national security be US, Sweden, Russia, China ... Words only can be a security threat in Rwanda with our history.

Thanks Man i am a Rwandan who stays here for long, but we have to admit that Rwanda had had Genocide, and the genocide in Rwanda was carried by Rwandans against Rwandans, and stopped by Rwandans. Imagine someone who stopped genocide but his family members lost life in genocide "Definetely Revenge was the option". So soldiers were ordered not to revenge and victims of genocide wanted to and Rwandan need to live in the same country, Imagine a parent who lost his husband and 9 childrens the country was tromatised even some suggested to split the country into two. But Rwandans have to live together. Man our history is complicated. So Kagame chose was to put people together, example in past years top military official who liberated the country has taken massive land. You know what the man did he tooke the land from military official and take their land. But as days pass by and new generation come and wound of history get hilled a promise the freedom is their but it is not allowed for pariament members to fight due to different opinion disagrement is solved in respective aggrement freedom will come with time and with respect.

''APOLOGIES FOR THE LONG POST I JUST HAD TO'' Hello Kish, glad you shared this here, First of all allow me to say this I would have been shocked if the first concern you raised about someone speaking bad about the government that they go after them and their family was from someone who lives in Rwanda (those in Rwanda Knows the truth)because if that was the case kids of those who committed genocide will also be in Jail . Let me just say those who are not from here or do not understand our culture in Rwanda struggle to understand the difference between being so culture oriented and being robotic as they say it. As you had said it before Rwandans are not so out going like other countries in east Africa and this is all because of our culture were by we don't just open up to strangers and it becomes even worse when they are speaking a foreign language, You have to also understand that English was introduced as an official language in 2008 or 2009 , and one thing with Rwandans we like Kwihagararaho (in English i would say it is like we do not like to embarrass our selves ) I promise you instead of a Rwandan embarrassing them selves speaking broken English they will give you a good stare like ''singiye guseba sha'' (to mean am not about to embarrass my self) So it is not about fearing to speak. Another Point I wanted to highlife was about Rwandans not criticizing the government or the President . May be our way of doing it does not resonate with the rest of the world and it shouldn't so long as it works for us that's what matters. For your information we have a forum called umushyikirano ( National Dialogue ) where citizen representatives and Leaders in different sectors look at issues citizens are facing and sometimes the president calls out those leader that have failed to fulfill their duties( I would share videos but they are in kinyarwanda) but you can check that out if you wanna know more about it. To add on this the president himself goes to each province of Rwanda to visit his population and hear there issues. but the issue with the rest of the people that do not resonate with how things are done here wants us to do things like else where and ignoring the fact that our history is totally different. Now for the issues of Congo and Rwanda people have different opinions but I would say Their president should focus on how to solve the conflict in his country instead of blaming everything on Kagame, Believe me some of the Congolese pple will blame the president for the Poverty in Congo , Lack of good governance , Lack of infrastructure literally anything and Everything. People are just jealous of how much Rwanda has achieved. But in Kinyarwanda we have a saying that says Umwana wanzwe niwe ukura ( If I try to translate in English I would literally mean The child that is hated is the one that grows but in other words this means that when you know that you have haters you always work hard to prove them wrong ) Lastly Rwanda is not perfect we are a developing national we have learned from our mistakes in the past which has lead us to where we are now and we are still a work in progress.

Hello Kish, I wanted to talk about this as a Rwandan who lives abroad but visit my country time to time and I love my country and what our government has achieved , some people are saying that the reason why people don’t talk when you try to engage with them in a conversation that is because they are afraid to be arrested or killed that’s not true because majority of people in the country don’t speak fluent english especially old generations or people who went to school when there was a French study system. so that’s the reason why they shy away when being approached by English speakers in General again there is one other guy who said only KGL is the only part of the country that looks good but that’s not true cause you even visited Rubavu Gisenyi when you were going to Goma and again there are no ethnicity no more in our country cause we know where it reached us so people saying that so cold HUTUS are dying from hunger and poverty that not true cause KAGAME brought a system called “Gir’inka Munyarwanda” which means people especially in rural areas are given cows to prevent hunger or bad diet especially for kids , in short Kagame cares about everyone unless you not a threat to a country or ideologist with those ethnic bullshit which we left in 20th century, in 21st century we are all Rwandans and we are one people who say those nonesense that Kagame is a killer are those who left the country because of their crimes or because their families who did genocide crimes push that narrative into the minds of young people. Long story short the way you saw the country that’s real of course nothing is good 100% there are bad sides and good sides but whatever bad sides are it’s something that can be taken care of by the unity of the country cause we are not afraid to talk our minds. “GOD BLESS RWANDA” 🇷🇼

@kish_myworld Don't let anyone lie to you, the whole of Eastern Congo has been infiltrated by Rwandan refugees who call themselves Congolese just like they did in Uganda. In Uganda Museveni and Kagame usurped the Ugandan government after they had committed genocide on over 1.5 million Indigenous Ugandans while they were impostoring as Indigenous Ugandans. They used kidnapped Indigenous Ugandan child soldiers whose parents they had killed, through all sorts of deceptions. Museveni, Kagame and their Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi refugee kinsmen, are the ones who have been stealing Congolese minerals while impostoring as Congolese citizens after corrupting and threatening Congolese people into working for Museveni and Kagame's evil extremist Rwandan Tutsi/M23 rapist genocidaires. With the backing of Britain, Israel and USA corporations, you notice Kagame didn't mention their British and USA big backers!! Museveni and Kagame usurped the Ugandan government with the backing of Britain/Israel and USA. They have been protected from prosecution for crimes against humanity in their first genocide in Uganda!! Which they committed before they invaded Rwanda and Congo!! The Truth will be revealed and Congo is the nail in the coffin for the coveredup Museveni and Kagame's first genocide in Uganda. Which brought them on the African political scene. They were helped by Western propaganda after they invaded Rwanda, caused and participated in the Rwanda genocide but manipulated into the World media as the ones who had stopped genocide in Rwanda!! How can a minority of less than 15% be the ruling class after the Rwanda genocide?!! All this means is that, Museveni/Kagame's Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi refugee former asylees in Uganda did exactly what they had done in Uganda where they lied and deceived the Indigenous Ugandans while they were committing genocide on the Indigenous Ugandans and to have managed to capture power in Uganda, in 1986. After which Museveni appointed his kindred Rwandan Tutsi refugee kinsman Kagame and former lieutenant in Luwero, Uganda genocide, as the chief of Uganda military intelligence!! Then sent Kagame to General staff Training school in the USA on Uganda citizen passport!! From where museveni recalled Kagame and sent him to invade Rwanda at around 1994!! This information about the atrocities and genocides that have been committed by Museveni, Kagame with their kindred Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi led refugees in Uganda and still continues in Uganda Congo, must be exposed and told to the entire World. If not, the West is going to continue using KZfaq and other social media platforms, lying for Museveni and Kagame's Rwandan Tutsi minority, giving high algorithm figures as they have been doing with Swahili Nation but blocking viewership of the platforms that try to expose Museveni, Kagame and their kindred Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi hegemonistic warmongering Tutsi/Banyamulenge M23 genocidaires, of close to 20 million fellow Africans from Uganda, through Rwanda and Congo to Central Africa!! I am from Uganda, Museveni and Kagame's small clique of Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi refugees have been ruling, kidnapping, torturing and carrying out systematic genocide and grabbing Indigenous Ugandan Ancestral lands rich in oil and gold and robbing the Ugandan economy and Congolese minerals to build Rwanda with blood money from the Ugandan economy and Congo's mineral resources. Please don't get deceived by the material things of the built up Rwandan infrastructure!! Myseveni and Kagame are cold hearted evil deceptive Western backed genocidaires millions of Congolese and Indigenous Ugandans. I wish to remind you that even Hitler's Nazi Germans had the most technologically advanced country in Europe. However, that didn't stop the Americans and European from invading Germany, bombing and killing over six million Germans to free Europe from the Germsn Nazi genocidaires. Also remember that Museveni, Kagame and their Rwandan/Burundian Tutsi/Banyamulenge M23 are a minority Nilo/Cushitic Hamites who think that they are superior to the Bantu majority in the Great Lskes region and want to dominate the Great Lakes region of Africa withe the backing of Israel and Western governments!! They even falsely claim to be Jewish by way of Ethiopia!! Which has mostly to do with the leftovers of their Belgian colonial master's who used the Tutsi against the Hutu Bantu majority, 85% of the Rwandan and Burundian population. The Belgisns colonialist brainwashed the Tutsis to believe, that Tutsis were White people turned Black by the African sun!! My final point to you, it is very unwise for you to support a minority Black African that has committed genocide on six times more fellow Africans than there are Tutsi in the World. If anything they need to be exposed for their collaboration with Britain, Israel, USA and EU countries in stealing African mineral resources while land grabbing and committing genocide on fellow Africans to benefit White systemic racist neocolonial imperialism.

Rwanda has come deep down from about 10 years of war including genocide perpetrated against Tutsis, 24 years of peace are not enough to change all things. The defeated regime is active in exile against the leadership of Kagame. All things are not perfect, but the criticism of the defeated regime is exaggerating. The rules and regulations in Rwanda are there for the well-being of all Rwandans not an individual, and we hope their toughness will be lower year by year because in the past it was different( so tough).

Dear Kish, please be assured, Rwanda does not hate criticism, however you need to understand our history and its consequences: those who committed genocide and fled to different countries, those who fled because they were asked to account for their responsibilities, there are others who are related to those mentioned above. Hello Kish!!! I'm in Rwanda, but I'm not going to say that the critics are true or wrong, but like the one who got some experience, you can make your conclusion. They talk much, especially those out of the country. But the problems we have in Rwanda is common like in other places around the World. An example, they accuse Rwanda of helping M23, but in DRC, there's over 120 armed groups, they do irregal mining, they kill people that why there's over 500k Congolese refugees in neighbouring countries. But all the problems are put on Kagame's shoulders, the truth DRC don't admit that it failed to eradicate those internal problems, and protect its own people. In addition, tribalism have no place in our country because we know well how bad it is, corresponding to our history. The government try its best to make Rwandans one people that share the same interests of the country. They will tell you that if you do this and this in Rwanda they❤ will take you to jail, but like you did, i think none attempted to do that to you. In conclusion, you get the truth by yourself when you come in Rwanda. That's why there's Visit Rwanda program around the World, to get other side from what people say

Thank you for showing the world the other side of Rwanda, it's very good to show the best of the country and the so not nice, I was reading comments there are quite interesting very interesting actually, I noticed that the places you showed the world are not developed and are still very poor however I was impressed by the fact that they are clean hey being poor does not mean you must be dirty, the roads though not paved but for community roads they are okay, I did find empty streets to be a concern, where are the people? About the people being timid, quite and shy or programmed and behaving like robots, I noticed even on Twitter there was such a debate, perhaps it's the trauma the people experienced due to the genocide, or if it's not perhaps people are fearful because of the politics of that country a country so divided based on tribes, to the Rwandese brothers I think they should actually appauld your videos, it's very nice to have such a conversation as your country grows and matures there is need for checks and balances and the errors needs to be corrected or weaknesses so speaking about these issues openly is not as bad like what the blogger did, It was a very good eye opener I wish more videos can be filmed of those areas like Kinyarombo so that we know also how the ordinary men and women live there, the most important part of travel is the cultural part and cultural tourism, Westerners or Asians are used to high rise cities, and fancy buildings and are not easily impressed by buildings or skyline but those areas where the people might wish that the world doesn't see the so called poor areas could actually be what is needed to grow the tourism there by showing the world both sides of the country the bad and the good, Lastly it's the first video where I see the blogger venturing into politics and issues as deep as these, that says a lot of hey perhaps there is genuine need for improvement I have seen bloggers who go to North Korea do the same and those who go to Mauritius because of the alleged racism Mauritius has on blacks, I wish the blogger well and hopefully we see more of such content, He didn't criticize Rwanda at all, he was just observing and hearing things and he is bringing a conversation and to try to stifle such a conversation would be misconstrued as having a lot to hide, let the conversation flow if there is nothing to hide and if the country is free as what people on comments are saying mostly from there then let the guy speak and share his experiences, he has been doing this all over, the difference is he found Rwanda unique because of the people who he says appeared shy, timid, quite and also appeared programmed like robots and he paints a controlled society.

The country lacks genuine unity because the Genocide against Tutsi (May the Souls of all the victims rest in internal peace and their families be comforted by God) has become a tool used by the current administration to oppress and limit opposition leaders and the common Mwananchi of whom the majority are Hutu ethnic group. Many Rwandans abroad cannot visit or repatriate to their homeland because they fear being falsely accused or kidnapped. Rwanda is safe and fun to visit as a foreigner. What Rwandans both in the diaspora and home are fighting against is the re-introduction of ethnic supremacism.

Hi Kish, on the case of freedom of speech most of Rwandans are not fluent in English or French so interacting with a foreigner is a big challenge especially for older generations, also our history plays a big part in this, for example those who are outside of Rwanda or inside once you really analyse or pay attention to want they want or say ,u see that always they try to bring tribalism in their topics or agenda , and you know tribalism what it did to us in 1994, or most of them participated in Tutsi genocide one way or another or related to it. On the case of poverty, Rwanda in general is a poor country and her economic means can't develop the whole country in a day(Rome wasn't built in a single day) but with a clear future prospects to development which means development can't be achieved with a divided society, so today we are all Rwandans(no tribes) with equal opportunities and rights. You can see development with yours eye, compare to other EAC countries that u have been to, u can see a difference yet they claim to be very democratic ,Rwanda is trying her best to make all Rwandans rich with high standards of life. u can see who ever u talk to has that feeling or confidence that they will see developed and rich Rwandans in their lifetime or few decades to come.

Rwandan here, the thing is criticism isn't restricted here when it comes to general matters but the sensitive topic here is the Genocide against the tutsi even after 30 years since it ended. Any sympathy towards the former government is a one way ticket to prison. People here still have trauma and just prefer to stay silent on the matter. But anything else is not a problem that can lead to you being arrested or silenced really.

Thanks for giving all perspectives. Your content is always great. As far as officers not appreciating a camera in their face, that's just not Rwanda. They don't like people doing that in America either. Alhough you're "technically" allowed to film, officers are still known for threatening or arresting people for filming. I never been to Rwanda, but it seems like a place with law & order, plus it's clean & orderly. That's what Africa needs. Western countries like to wag their fingers at other nations they view as authoritarian, but freedom of speech is isn't absolute in the west, especially western Europe where they ban certain speech such as pro Palestinian demonstrations & criticism of Israel in Germany, and women can't wear hijabs in certain public spaces in France. And Europe restricts "hate speech," whereas we can say anything we want in America. But I understand Rwandan exiles have their views, although much of it exaggerated. They still have the right to what they believe. Peace!

Just do research you will find even some are jenocideres who never even reached in past 15years plus we not saints every country must and have those little minor groups of people who always see negativity. Kagame has not only indirectly admitted to his country being a safe passing zone for mineral smugglers (something that should raise your concern considering how allegedly “safe” and well protected Rwanda is, how come mine smugglers manage to easily pass through Rwanda and fly out to Tel Aviv, Moscow etc without Kagame allowing it) but he has also openly admitted to supporting M23 and saying they’re fighting for a good and just cause and that they need to be “heard” (keep in mind he’s a hypocrite and doesn’t allow opposition, especially rebel opposition in his country and calls them FDLR etc yet when it comes to M23 all of a sudden they’re “fighting for Tutsi rights”.). This just shows without a shadow of a doubt that Kagame has a big part to play in the war in DR Congo.

If people are accusing you of being a "propagandist," tell them to go to Kigali and find out all the facts for themselves. We don't care about those negative criticisms! They're just jealous of Kagame's administration achievements. You went to Burundi, you spent a few hours in Goma. Now go to Kinshasa and you'll tell us how much you love that giant, rich country! Burundi where lots of people have to live in hiding: While there are no sites of internally displaced persons, the [African Union] Delegation was informed of the existence of a non-conventional phenomenon of internal displacement. This involved people who *run from their houses* in crisis affected areas to *stay with their relatives or friends* in more secure parts of Bujumbura or elsewhere in the country. According to the information that the Delegation received, the internal displacement also includes people who went on *hiding for fear of attacks by Imbonerakure or security forces.* Other reports have also confirmed the existence of internal displacement.

Regarding the accusations that issues that are in Congo are caused by Rwanda, I think when you went in Goma/DRC you asked that question to Goma citizen, what did she reply if you remember? She said that for her, she hears those issues are between "big leaders" but from her pov (as someone who lives on the ground) she doesn't have any issue with Rwandan at all! So the Gov of DRC is simply weak and can't run its own country and tries to scapegoat Rwanda (that's another long story on why) but fact check: DRC people from the Eastern Part (bordering with Rwanda don't have any issue! Only people from Kinshasa (2000 km from Rwandan Border) do have issues and are vocal about Rwanda to just mask their incompetence. Next time, go deeper and talk to the real people of Kivus and they will tell u the truth. Issues in DRC are there since their independence

How Burundi deals with demonstrations: The government declared a *blanket ban on demonstrations* and security forces threatened to shoot at protestors. After government had declared a ban on protests, security forces were engaged in *sweeping arrests* of people suspected of participating. On 1 June some 100 persons were reported arrested in the central Gitega province and two persons were severely wounded from gunshots. Security forces undertook similar campaign of arrests especially in the major sites of protests in Bujumbura's neighbourhoods such as Musaga and Buterere. The [African Union] Delegation was informed that some *470 people* were in detention in relation to the protests and riots of April and May 2015. Arrest was *not the only threat that protestors faced.* Following their arrest, they were also subjected to intimidation and violence. As a UN report noted, most of those arrested have been subjected to *torture* and *cruel, inhumane and degrading* treatment by security officers (mainly police and intelligence agents).

How Burundi deals with kids, even 4 year olds: A further evidence of the arbitrariness of the arrests was the fact that it involved significant number of minors as well. At the time of the visit of the [African Union] Delegation, the National Human Rights Commission confirmed that more than *58 children* were arrested from Cibitoke. While 7 of these were released, the remaining were in detention charged and convicted for participating in armed insurrection, although they were subsequently transferred to their families following *pressure from UNICEF* and human rights groups. UNICEF stated that children were among the civilians who became victims of gunshots. The UN agency reported in early July that *eight children including a four year old were killed* since the beginning of the protests at the end of April 2015. Manifesting the arbitrary use of force in Burundi, *most of them* were shot dead or died from bullet wounds.

Only person we don't really criticize is our president and that's not because the government will kill you or something. We just really genuinely love our president but some people find it hard to believe as if loving someone who stopped a tragic genocide and brought back hope to our people is really impossible. When you criticize him, the government doesn't do anything to you, but be ready for the backlash and retaliation from regular citizens like myself who love him. Its not really a difficult concept to understand. If you can dish it, you can take it(or however the saying goes).

You praised the rule of law and these have not accepted that the law applies to them too. The best thing you can do for yourself so that you don't fall again for this bull*hit is learn about the backgrounds of the people you interviewed and you will be shocked. Some of your interviewees may be from DRC too. I feel sorry for you for being duped, this is not the first time this happens. These are the same people that BBC interviewed in their hit job in 2014 that was called "Untold Stories". So don't flatter yourself that you have discovered anything new, these are tired lies that most Rwandans are familiar with.
