I dont believe Lizzy was insane. She knew enough to hide her crimes and move on, even trying to cash in on them. Nor do I believe she was Jack the Ripper. She knew how to kill, but not skilled enough to do what Jack supposedly did to his victims. Lizzy was just plain evil...a bad seed. Thank you for the stories! Captivating indeed.

Eastern State Penitentiary is an uber-creepy place. I went in there on a tour on a warm summer day, and couldn't shake the scare factor, especially down on Death Row. @@Yomika14xyukina44 it's funny that this even comes up this week. I just read an article two days ago that they think they have finally solved the Ripper case. Authorities used DNA genotyping from the very little known DNA that they had from one of the victims. Once they were supposedly able to trace it back from recent DNA similar matches, it actually links up to a man named Aaron Kosminkski who was a Polish barber (and also one of the main suspects at the time of the murders).

@@ashleelarsen5002 Actually, women tended to die younger than men. Marriage was more the norm so men were more likely to get married as soon as they were financially able. Widowers who weren't very well off, who had children, tended to remarry instead of hiring help. Divorce rate was almost nonexistent so (forgive the term) "recycling" into the dating pool was rare. Widower who didn't have children were often on the lookout for another young wife to get children. So, in short, there was a high demand for young "marriageable" (good reputation) women.

Hi you! Been wondering if you were OK.🤔 I'm having a lot of trouble with KZfaq lately so I am sometimes way late. Anyway glad to see you lol! This was a zinger eh? Another crazy killer Lizzie. Well this one was for sure the real killer....Hey! Have you seen that commercial for Lume? That new French deoderant? Freaking hilarious! I love it! Better than some programs I swear. Gonna have to zee if any new comps of really great ads have been made lately. Like Purple? The mattress ones? With the bigfoot fam? I missed them last Christmas.😖 The year before I watched them every time. So funny! There was a holiday ad where the turkey and some other food in a lady's cart gets out and runs away down the aisle. It was for Swanson's chic broth I think. My grandson and I used to giggle so hard at that! Makes me chuckle even just thinking about it!😂 Well have a good day dear. And all of the community!😘✌🍀😈

Ahh, arsenic & fire & guns & scissors are evil classics, but Jack also appeared to have medical or surgical training of some sort, given his victims' wound patterns. Also, she seemed more secretive with what she got up to, rather than styling it with Jack's dramatic & sinister public letters. Hmm...another case I knew nothing about...thanks, BC! It's interesting to see how many criminals were considered as Ripper candidates!

faye witt - although I don’t think she was Jack the Ripper because there’s no evidence to provided to point to her. But it is interesting to point out it could have been a woman. Perhaps a scorned wife that was tired of her husband “visiting” these ladies

I've always wondered if Jack the Ripper was actually more like a "Jill the Ripper". Something about the violent way in which the Whitechapel victims were attacked and mutilated made me suspect a woman who was tired of her husband "visiting" prostitutes, or perhaps a woman who contracted an STI from her husband after he'd cheated on her with a prostitute.

I don't think she was Jack the Ripper. Mostly because she was probably not physically strong enough and she seems to have to have some sort of relationship with the other victims. An emotional attachment to her murders. Good question.👍💕

There is a very convincing video out there in regards to Jack The Ripper. Wish I could remember the title or link. But it makes a very compelling argument that one of the first to men to "discover" Jack the Rippers first victim was the murderer.

If you're referring to the documentary about the 2 men who on their way to work came upon the body of one of the victims and the theory was that one of those men was the Ripper, yes, indeed that one WAS good. Very believable and fits together a lot of the puzzle. I believe the theorist was from one of the Nordic countries. I need to watch that one again it was that good.

I've read an article just today about Jack the Ripper. They have proven that Jack was a Polish immigrant who was a barber, through DNA evidence left on the only surviving piece of evidence left from the crimes. Having said that, it was an interesting theory that "Jack" could have actually been "Jill." Thank you for this informative and entertaining video.

Thanks -You are referring to Aaron Kosminski, I have always considered him a credible candidate for JTR. The DNA is apparently linking him to one on the murders that of Charlotte Eddows, of course many people think that JTR was not just one person. I agree I don't find the Lizzie Halliday theory very plausible.

I believe that Jack the Ripper was not the Polish immigrant as thought initially . There was a slight problem in the method the DNA was analysed so we are now back to square one after 150 years . A real disappointment if you ask me .

Many of your presentations about women are of those who used the only ways of survival they could muster to find relief from abusive situations, primarily caused by men. To me, these women were not all "evil" or "psychotic" but were actually quite smart and adaptive. So many women in the archives of C&P were unjustly persecuted without recognizing the desperation that led them to criminal means. Don't get me wrong, some were insidiously greedy and manipulative, but more of them were desperate young women who acted in defense of the abuse of men in power and the lack of rights of abused women during those times. Many were never given due process.

Chandra Scharpf the infection could have come from anywhere, you may have had high levels of staph on your skin, or picked something up from your shoes and socks, etc. all you really know for sure is a child bit you hard enough to open the skin. Maybe you were sitting on carpet with children before being bitten . And how on earth do you know the child had a “clean mouth” lol. A toilet looks clean to me but I wouldn’t eat of my leg, a child’s mouth or a toilet lmao.

Hello, Great job Narrating another WILD case!! I wonder about this Woman! I don't think that She was "Jack The Ripper," because it was said that Jack The Ripper had some basic knowledge of the anatomy of Women. I think that although, Lizzie was smart enough to try to cover up Her crimes; I think that She lacked the knowledge to cut up the Women in The White Chapel Area. I do believe that She was probably, insane for SURE!!! She seemed to lack the ability to refrain herself though. In some cases she would try to cover her tracks but was so seemingly ignorant about how OBVIOUS HER CRIMES WERE TO ANYONE ELSE!!! I like the job that You did with this story. I also liked Your narration of the case in Japan where the Couple poisoned People at The Summer Celebration. I think that You do a Great job with both genres of crime. I personally, like the older 1800's times of crime. You do a Great job with both as I stated above; I just prefer the older crimes. Somehow, because of Their lack of forensic Knowledge as in today's crimes; the older stories seem more frightening and more intriguing! Anyway, another great Brief Case! I look forward to more. Thank You, for sharing Your talents with Us again.

Jack the Ripper was thought to be the royal physician b/c of the precision in the removal of inner organs from the victims & having sharp instruments such as a scalpel in his bag to use. He travelled in a coach with the words royal physician on the side of the cart. It would have been easy for him to go undetected by the police who wouldn’t think to accuse him. Also, he was able to make a quick get away.
