@Highonlife24 that depends on what the intention of the documentary is...to give a balanced view in the context of the times he lived in and circumstances of his life, or to diminish his achievements with his private life, I'll decide after I've watched it I suppose he was an incredible fighter

Who said it changes a thing. You can be a goat while being not the best person at the same time. OJ is probably the best player the Bills ever had and it doesn’t change the fact that he still most likely killed his ex wife and her friend and he committed armed robbery. Being a generational talent in a profession doesn’t equate to you being the best or even a good person. That logic is silly.

They’re WHITE, (the video makers). They always do this to Black boxers. They are very subtle and some people miss this as a result. They mostly don’t do this with White boxers, unless that’s the topic (if you know what I mean). I don’t even think they know when they do it now, it’s like a reflex action to them now. They never want the Black ones to look too great. And if they look too good in boxing, they bring something else up that’s nothing to do with boxing but designed to sully the boxers image.

That's a crazy dream to have as a boxer, I have dreams like that too where I dream of things or scenarios that happen and then i'll see it sometimes the next day, 2 weeks from then, or next month, But when I see it come true in front of my eyes it's almost like a weird case of deja vu. I can only imagine how difficult that was to have that man's untimely passing on his conscience fighting damn near every other month against the best boxers in the world at that time. Sugar is definitely a boxing icon.

You are forgetting the absence of national newspapers, TV, and radio during J.J.'s time. Plus boxing was not like baseball back in the day it was more niche and mainly in big cities. Robinson was fought in NYC during the golden age of radio and that made him a celebrity and then he fought on TV for the first aired fight ever so he was a huge celebrity far bigger than anyone before him.

Johnson antagonized controversial reactions, which gained him attention. He certainly wasn't seen as a celebrity in the pro-white society and times in which he lived. He openly liaised with white women, which caused so much outrage that in some southern states, it sparked a series of lynching black men. Not that it didn't go on anyway, but Johnson enraged the mad dogs all the more...
