The water bottles @4:04 literally say 'blue pill' on them in Japanese (or Romaji, to be specific) I never noticed that before, lol Aoi (青い) = Blue Piru (ピル) = pill And the attention to detail is pretty crazy here, because "aoi" technically means 'a light bluish green' exactly like the color used for the label. Which also parallels the fact that taking it this way is quite literally a watered-down version of the blue pill, so it's represented by a light blue instead of a deep royal blue The more I watch your channel the more I appreciate the matrix movies, & the sheer amount of thought that went into them & the meaning behind it all! Great work as usual : )

Yes. The choice isn't oppression vs freedom; the choice is between active and passive participation in the system. Red pills actively participate in saving and reiterating The Matrix by finding "The One" with the answers to the instabilities to the current expression of The Matrix, and facilitating (unwittingly) "The One's" introduction into the source. Thus saving The Matrix from its own inherent faults and perpetuating the system for another cycle of oppression. The war, the religion, the myth of the one; all theater to conceal the truth ... there is no escaping the system, there is no meaningful resistance; everything transpires exactly as the machines wish - even the so-called human rebellion. Zion isn't a human city, it's a paddock built by the machines and rebuilt after every purge. As the architect says; "Nearly everyone accepts the simulation so long as they're presented with a choice." The red pills are inevitable and anticipated; the machines simply constructed another layer to the system to turn their contrarian nature towards the machines' goals. The first and foremost being the perpetuation of The Matrix. The myth of the one is that he's a savior of the oppressed humans trapped in a system of oppression. The reality is, he's a savior of the system of oppression. Much like Frank Herbert's Dune, The Matrix strongly cautions "Be wary of charismatic icons or leaders." What made Neo special was his love for humanity (common to each One) had deviated and become romantic love for a specific person. This created a cascade of unpredictable and destructive choices which brought the machines to the bargaining table and agree to alter the system towards enlightened participation instead of oppressive colonialism. Of course, Neo was never given a choice at all; he had to save everyone - except himself. Choosing between humans and machines was always a false choice; it's a symbiosis - one can not survive without the other.

Reloaded ends with Neo making the unexpected choice of those presented to him but finally Revolutions ends with Neo making his own choice -one noone ever contemplated much less presented. The moral of the choice arch seems to be to reject false dichotomies.

Perhaps you weren't quite paying attention to M4, but in it, the Analyst said that Neo's actions in behalf of the Machines at the end of M3 cost him his life; and that only after numerous failed attempts, they finally brought him back---with a very bad case of amnesia. Are the Red and Blue pills truly the creation of the Machines to trick humans into believing they have a choice? Or are they actually tools that humans invented to help them make the right choice? Interesting questions.

I like to think the line. The problem is choice means a deeper meaning. It implies the idea that even the red pill was part of the matrix neo desperately wants to escape. Brilliant writing making me question the choice and it's own validity in and of itself.

What if you took both? Or neither? True freedom isn't being forced into a choice, it is being able to properly evaluate any path before you. I like the idea for example that government is a fairy tale and all that exists are administrations and central banks who force you to choose the cover photo by voting which tie an administrator wears..Red or blue? *_NONE OF THE ABOVE '24_*

The choice will be, or already has been, made for you. Also (edit) there's no such thing as having knowledge and ignorance of the exact (key word) thing. The very mindset of wanting to know everything before making a decision is even more red pilled than just taking it and learning everything afterwards.

I always wonder if the red pills was essential for the Oracle's baking to work on Neo. Did she give cookies to all potentials or just Neo? But I also now noticed. Neo took the candy from her. But I never see him eat it like he did the cookie. Did Smith showing up prevent him from doing so?What would have happen to Neo if he ate the candy? If Neo did eat the candy. Was this the reason why he was able to sense the sentinels, act as an emp weapon towards them, and connect to the matrix wirelessly?

they confirmed the fact that you just escape the matrix by going into a second matrix (an exciting man vs machines story quest) when Smith got out of the simulation & into Bane & when Neo suddenly had powers in the "real" world. there is no real reality. there may literally be nothing but layer upon layer with humans never getting out. it's all a simulated & it's likely no one knows who started the first sim or how deep it goes. we're all trapped inside an aliens laptop running an infinite number of SIMS games.

IMO a lot of the "build out" of the "pills" is a response to the meme lords utilizing their meaning IRL. This is just a response from the Wachowskis to try and re-harness the narrative.

I don't think they were made by the Oracle, i think the Merovingian or the Train Man made them. These two have shown they can jump between reality outside the systems intentions. The Oracle was upgraded and placed in the new matrix, the Merovingian and Train Man were not, they were supposed to be deleted (well code and knowledge I guess consumed [assimilated]). The Merovingian and Train Man would have also been all but game for making these as its creating customers, they are like drug dealers when you think about it. Is the red and blue pull not in every way a drug? Just a theory, I do like yours also. The pills are the first step in belief of a higher power and a step towards assentation. The pill tackles many subjects such as faith, belief and control it was the perfect idea they absolutely nailed it. It's so simple but so symbolic I don't think they could have made anything anymore perfect. I don't think the pill is used to find/track someone in the "real world". I think everyone has an ID like a book or entity in a database. Those on the other side know this ID and just have to search it up (allot like finding a book in a library or item in a database the map of where it would be stored.)

Red, (White), and Blue, the colors or sides of the DEMREP Party. The “candies” are “candidates” representing the same political power as One. The color white symbolizes equality. Choice - REPUBLICAN/RED or DEMOCRAT/BLUE - in the Matrix and in today’s world is an illusion. One vote can/cels the other so both sides/dies. In the movie, Neo eventually overcomes his self doubt and uses karate programs (cutting-edge hacks) to dismantle the entire Matrix, the GRID.
