Since 2016 Ireland and South Africa have played against each other with Ireland winning five of the eight games played. Ireland have won 4 of the last 5 games. I think the dominance of Southern Hemisphere Rugby is being challenged more today than every before and I think that's a great thing for sport.

Durban’s sea level but if you mean going from altitude week before to hot week after, yeah. Either way, couldn’t agree more, incredible Irish team - been top drawer for years now and deserved winners on Saturday. Don’t often see the Bok pack get knocked around like they did in the first half.

The rivalry is legitamitly AWESOME! The URC has become a really competitive tournament where any of the top 5-6 teams could win it. We at Leinster won it 4 years in a row and the competition had vecome stale. But now Stormers won it in there first year of the competition. Munster have won it and now the Scots have become a real force with Glasgow winning this year. Its been a great revelation. Irish and South African players are really getting to know one another and the rivalry is building and building through competitive URC games.

It's nice to go on about how the Irish have been going since July 2023 hey? If you win, you can say "in spite of fatigue" and if you lose you can say "due to fatigue". The Bok players have been playing all this time as well but wouldn't dream of using fatigue as an excuse. Coz really that's all it is - An excuse. Credit to Ireland for being tough as nails. A well-earned victory indeed. Happy they won. It hurt the Boks and the improvement from here on out will be better than if they had won the series 2-0.

No need to be so "excitable" for want of a better word. I think people are saying the players must be exhausted and therefore a terrific performance. SA players have probably had the same season and must be tired too. For us, travelling to SA at the end of a long tiring season is really a tough tour. No matter what we do in the gym and at training, the Boks are a bigger more physical team than us. We are really punching above our weight when we play you, so it's even harder when it's at the end of a really tough season (and this has been the longest season ever - until next season!!!). It's tough for us to play you in November in Ireland but much harder again in July in SA. A great test series and I think anyone can agree we did exceptionally well to come back in the 2nd match.

Its funny had the drop goal failed, the Boks supporters would have different comments. Let get real , we won so many close games. We are playing a dam good team. Nothing is assured that Boks can break thru defences all the time. Our first half let us down. We should have been better ready for a irish backlash. The new playing system takes time to adjust . Will be happy with this loss going forward . We needed this kick up our back side. Our locks need good backups, and No 8 is a special role & and we need to find the proper 8 replacement. Polard may not fit this style of play. Lets give them some time. We won a double world cup, give then some respect. One loss dont define us and especially 1 point loss . Boks are never a consistent side other than the World Cup.. let's accept it. Move on. Dam, we dont have 3 rd test.

I thought I was the only 1 who was happy that we lost. I said in another comment that Rassie & Co were looking a little too jolly in the press conferences throughout this past week. I hope that yesterday popped the unconscious ego balloon that was inflating. (I know they claim to not have egos, but let's be real - human nature is human nature). We'll learn so much more from losing yesterday, than we would have had we won. I'd gladly take a 67% win record over the next 4 years and then win the RWC in 2027 than be Ireland - winning streak for nearly 2 years or whatever and then choking when it matters most like the Proteas in literally every tournament ever. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. ✌🏾

@@raymonddixon7603 nothing you've said there was mean. Ireland dominated that 1st half. The Boks managed to chip away at the scoreboard with penalties and thought they had it in the bag. Some World Cup players hung around for a couple of matches too long. Understandable that Rassie wanted to give them a chance to beat Ireland but it’s time now to make some hard calls and build for the future. Ireland were hungrier and we need a young and hungry team now. Boks don’t do well when they are lauded as the best and have achieved their goals (back to back world cups). They need to find their mongrel again.

We need loose forwards with a massive work rate. Bring in Roos to number 8, Kwagga to number 6 and PSDT at number 7. Retire Kolisi....his days are done. Bring in Grant Williams at scrumhalf. Need a black captain? ....Bongi. To deal with injuries...Rassie can sort that out with the depth we have.

Can someone explain why we kept on restarting the same every time?? Scrummy box kicks from our 22 and it ends 15 metres in our half for Osborne to catch EVERY SINGLE TIME?? Not once did we catch the ball, I think we got a turnover once over it but makes you wonder what the possible reason to not pass it to sascha or pollard to boot like James louw. Also the game management was just horrendous with terrible discipline in the last minutes. We were very far from our best
@marloumoore8216
@marloumoore8216 Ай бұрын
Hi, You must remember, in test rugby its very important to have a great "EXIT PLAN". If you look at it, It's actually a attacking option from our 22, and a safer option. If we kick it out immediately, it gives them a attacking line-out from our own 10 meter line immediately from the restart. (If you actually kick it that far out) However if we recover the ball or they knock on we get an attacking scrum and platform to get a good exit out of our own half. Ireland have a great exit plan to give louw an opportunity to kick long and far out, and they back themselves to defend that attacking line-out. BUT it did backfire when louw kicked far but not out (2nd half), when Sascha caught the ball and ran it back a few times, he looked dangerous and we almost scored of that. So in my opinion, I'd rather much stick to our exit plan because our forwards are a bit slower in defending a counter attacking team if we kick it long...😂
