A three-part series following two foster youths as they age out of Washington State’s extended foster-care system.
Corey celebrates his 21st with friends and foster-family, but a blip in Corey’s past keeps him from being able to find an apartment. Mykell is living with her uncle and is able to stay in school, but decides to quit her job due to conflicts with school. Her Section 8 voucher (for affordable housing) will expire soon and she has still not been able to secure a place to rent.

Her mother had 18 plus years to get it together. The uncle needs to STOP making the excuses

Corey has kind eyes. His foster families are great! If the felony occured when he was a youth shouldn't his files be sealed?

What is the point of having a 'family,' if its members will idly sit by and let the foster care system take care of you? Everyone should have banded together to care for their so-called loved one.

Tonight I talked to twenty men about CASA. I gave them brochures and invited them to visit fairfaxcasa.org and get back to me if they had any questions. Each of the men will be going back to their own groups and take the brochure on how one can become a CASA. As someone who is in training, I'm ashamed to say that aging out and anything to do with foster homes was never a part of my life. To all those who went through the foster care program, I ask for your forgiveness that I didn't do anything. It is January 2020 and this video I'm reviewing was published in September 2016.

So, after the 60 days, do they file for extensions? If so, are these extensions commonly granted quickly? Also, is there a list of approved section 8 acceptance places that are made available when the vouchers are given? That could have helped speed up the process. It costs time and money just in hunting alone.

@@polivepeawhat are you talking about? She needs a place to stay. Been in foster care since a child. He should at least help her until she graduates and find a job
