I didn't know this video would be as emotional as it turned out being.
This journey has not been easy and looking back to that day that I stopped drinking was incredibly raw.
I have not thought about that day since I became sober and remembering that day was very triggering.
I love you all and stay strong.

Always remember you can’t have ONE SIP! of alcohol ever again. I packed up alcohol 26 years ago. I was an alcoholic, first of all you have to admit you are one. People often think that you have to be seen on benches in the street to end up being an alcoholic. That is not the case, if alcohol is affecting your work, your family, your health, your memory and many other things you have a BIG! problem. I decided on one New Years Eve that it would be my last drinking binge and I was stopping New Years Day. I’ve NEVER touched a drop of alcohol since. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones who managed it, I don’t know. Alcohol was messing my life up and I’d just had enough of it, something had to change. No more hangovers, no more stupidity, your life doesn’t suddenly get marvellous but it gets a lot better that’s for sure. If I can crack it anyone can.

I can relate to this alot i done a full year sober and its a lonely journey it also ended my relationship with my partner at the time . After doing a full year sober i have been out drinking a few times as a tester and the outcome / Problems are exactly the same so i have also decided to quit for good . Respect mate

I read the book “quit like a woman” and it was amazing. It changed my life. The author discusses how alcohol companies have to keep marketing to new consumers cause the old ones are dying

This Naked Mind by Annie Grace helped me quite. AA is depressing and I think their approach is outdated. I was a party hound and loved drinking, but I love my life a lot more now. Im more present and crushing my goals!

I swore by Catherine Gray's books. Both 'The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober' and 'Sunshine Warm Sober' saved me. I listened to the audiobook every night for ages and it was great that It was her actually reading it. You can get them both on Audible, would massively recommend to anyone struggling with giving up alcohol. Thanks a lot for watching and recommending, I will look into it.

White Lightning? That is a very different thing here in the US. Good on you for quitting while still young. Alcohol is like a lot of movies these days....the trailer is great but the movie sucks. Only with booze, its really hard to leave the theater.

I can’t imagine what it’s like being an alcoholic. I’m one of the blessed few that doesn’t really enjoy it. But if I did like being drunk, I’d probably be a terrible alcoholic.

Great video and a big congrats for quitting drinking. I know from personal experience that quitting any addiction is really hard. I've never struggled with any kind of addiction to alcohol but I am addicted to nicotine from vaping. I'm trying to quit nicotine and I'm finding it really hard. Congrats for quitting alcohol.

Don't hesitate to go back to AA. AA is full of nice guys just like you that love to drink as much as you do. They all liked to party. It's a safe place for alcoholics to go, And they can help you stay stopped from drinking.

They literally saved me. I listened to the audiobook every night for ages and what made it more powerful is that it was her actually reading it.
