When i heard Black Oyster and Captain Caviar, i did forgot that Caprain Caviar's still stuck in the middle of the duskgloom sea from last year, lmao. Her costume is straight plot, she just looks so bright-eyed and pure like a pearl. What happened? Reminds me of Alluring Crescent Moon from ovenbreak.

the costume we are getting is black pearl's past self, hence "white pearl". after getting betrayed by oyster cookie's ancestor, she became "black pearl". this was shown in duskgloom's lore few updates ago. you can also know bits on the description of the pearl alliance artifact.

i think black pearl was in love with oyster cookie (if mermaids dont age, that is) or at least someone from the oyster republic. it was mutual, but eventually the human became greedy and ran away after taking a pearl she gave her (the cookie also couldnt face her anymore). the cookie never saw black pearl ever again and because of the heartbreak and betrayal, shes no longer white pearl cookie, shes black pearl cookie

Alright, quick analysis of the upcoming update: 1. Another legend costume for Black Pearl, which is a surprise for sure. 2. Crystal jam, which is basically magic candies for legendaries, I'd imagine the materials for it will be painful to get. 3. SEA FARTY GOT A BUFF WOOOOO- 4. Peppermint cookie, which rides the whale that we've been seeing under the Tropical Islands. 4. New story mode, which is always welcome. 5. Legend banner! Hopefully the tickets or whatever currency we'll be using on the banner isn't hard to get. Overall, looks like a promising update. Still don't know if I'll spend my rainbow cubes on Black Pearl's legend costume since I already got her emo legend drip from last time.

If you're REALLY desperate though, you can use your millage points for the rainbow cubes. I currently have a total of 48 pulls with the gay cubes for this update. If I had a theory for the story, it would be this: (It’s just a guess lol) White Pearl Cookie was the innocent and beloved mermaid of the sea (proved by someone, possibly her mother, calling her special at 0:19). She met a friend who she had adventures and fun with, but that friend (or possibly lover or family) betrayed her, along with removing her gem in some way. This made all her radiance dim, and she became bitter and dark, only ever wanting others to be as miserable as she is. The cookie who betrayed her (supposedly reflected in the cracked mirror/portrait at 0:13) must’ve done something awful (White Pearl Cookie caught in a net?) I also don’t know yet how Sea Fairy ties into the story- I guess we’ll solve that later. It seems like such a good story!! I can’t wait for the release.

The only thing that I won’t expect is a happy ending for Black Pearl Cookie because she was betrayed and now she becomes one with the abyss that we see now. I've always called Peppermint Cookie he since there's never been any pronouns used for him and the devs have always said it's up to player interpretation for a majority of the cookies. Makes sense once you realize that the Black Pearl and Sherbet skins were community voted and not planned (Sea fairy already having one with moonlight was proobably a coincidence), so the first one was community-chosen instead of a conscious choice by dev-sis, essentially

Here's a last minute suggestion for an update! I think it would be a good idea to have a damage tester for our teams. For settings, it would be settings that change what opponents we can test on and how much stats everything will get. (Promotions, skill level, level, boss stats , how many enemies we face, if its a boss or not, what elements they are resistant to etc.) It would also be nice if we could test on other cookies and see what effects would take place. If you wanna decide not to waste time on this, that's fine but I would really appreciate if you guys at devsisters considered it!

We already knew that Black Pearl Cookie wasn't always evil. And I think that Devsis is going through the Starcross fated lovers to explain further the story. I mean, the tale that was told to Oyster Cookie said that he was the one who betrayed White/Black Pearl, but I feel that, in the end, the Capitain of the ship is going to do something and the ancestor of Oyster Cookie would (oh surprise) be innocent after all.
