America’s Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarines are some of the quietest, stealthiest submarines in the world. The Ohio submarines represent America’s ace in the hole, megatons of nuclear firepower quietly patrolling the world’s oceans, ensuring that any nuclear attack on the United States will not go unpunished.

Thanks very much for your support. Our patrols were off our east coast sitting about 3,000 yards behind a Russian missile submarine insuring that they could not launch on the United States. We had determined that their missile firing submarines had to surface to launch. So, if we received a message that we were at war with USSR, or if they surfaced an opened missile tube doors we would be obliged to sink them. Thankfully neither country wanted to launch on the other and to that I say AMEN! to

I was a Retired Naval Submariner, between the training, academics, and background checks, yes they talked to my first grade teacher and next door neighbor to name 2 I know of. I worked on the maintenance and monitoring of all Missiles on board. I served with some of the finest men on board that I ever met. They were like brothers that would give their life to save another. All though it was very dangerous I never felt fear among my shipmates. I believed in the construction and safety and the training of my shipmates under extreme stress. It made me the man I am and the shipmates will always be part of my family. Most people don’t understand when you write a check to the military including the loss of your life to serve. It is an honor to be one of the (.02 %) of the Navy to serve on submarines

Yea I have seen more then plenty of US runners. We call those deserters. The weak to very weak US military has 1000s of those annually. Over 20+ US combat veterans each day take their own live when they figure out they cannot run forever. When I invade the US mainland I will see no one. Cos they will have ran away. Simple.

@Jared Harris ok there are 2 types in my opinion. There are the fast attack class which are the older Los Angeles class subs and the newer Virginia class. Then there are the boomers which the middle carriers which would in this case be the Ohio class which would be your ssbns and the converted ssbns which are now the guided missile subs which are the ssgns. The trident class are the boomers. The Seawolf is a class of subs but their fast attack and their a very secret covert sub class. The reason they weren't massed produced was because the end of the cold war and the massive expense they cost. A class of subs is based off the lead ship of the design like the lafeyette was the lead sub of her design. Different sub classes are based off new designs. The Virginia class is a class based off the virginia nd their very modular. Class vs designation. Designations are fast attack and boomers. Hope this helps

*AND GUESS WHAT? THE U.S. USES ALL THAT POWER TO HARASS THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES BECAUSE THERE ARE NO MORE COUNTRIES TO CONQUER AND RULE.* And they can’t even end the 19 years old war in Afghanistan and Irak and now they want to invade Iran. They send the CIA to Latin America and around the world to destabilize the regions and keep them poor, example Venezuela. No I don’t support the corrupt Venezuelan Maduro, but the USA are far worst enemy. They seem to forget that 95% of countries in the world are not even afraid of them. These hardware are totally useless in the War of Guerrillas in the Amazon, in South America where the words DETERRENCE and SURRENDER don’t exists in their vocabulary, not even two nukes will make them surrender. And the conflict will not only be in South America but in the USA too. All that money wasted for nothing and nothing for Coronavirus, Testings, the homeless, Racism, and Detroit. It’s like Detroit, West Virginia and Puerto Rico are not America.

@@GHustle4 Your answer is a bit like quoting a statistic as an established fact. Fact: The US expended many thousands of rifle rounds for each enemy killed in (choose a country...Viet Nam, for instance). Statistic: Thousands of rounds did not kill any enemy. Statistical Error: As it only takes one round to kill you. Do not mistake the foolish ignorance of many (due to the fact that the US has not killed them yet) which allows them to conclude that the US cannot or will not kill them in the future. Just remember, "If you are going to be stupid, you'd better be tough as well."

Nah the US taxpayers won't suffer for crappy US subs that cannot make it from point A to B without ramming into random stuff? Ehime Maru and USS Greeneville collision, USS Dolphin major flooding and fire, USS Oklahoma City collision with tanker, USS Hartford grounding, USS San Francisco collision with undersea terrain, USS Philadelphia collision with MV Yasa Aysen, USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul incident, USS Newport News collision with Japanese tanker Mogamigawa, USS Hartford and USS New Orleans collision, USS Miami arson, USS Montpelier collision with USS San Jacinto, USS Jacksonville collision. Why would anyone want more of that? How many more deaths do you want to see? Will you burry all those sailors personally? US knows not to spy on us. The consequences will be devastating.
@Ry_TSG
@Ry_TSG 4 жыл бұрын
@@MrFlatage Ok, let me show you how you are wrong on every point you made. The USS. Greenville collision was the result of a malfunctioning monitor that displayed sonar data and human error for not spotting the ship. The USS Dolphin was the oldest submarine in the navy when it caught fire, so it's destined that something was going to go wrong sooner or later. The USS Oklahoma City collision was entirely human error. The USS Hartford collision was due to poor, lax leadership on the submarine and a failure to adequately prepare for and conduct the crossing of the Hormuz Strait by the crew. The USS San Francisco collision was due to the leaders and watch teams failing to develop and execute a safe voyage plan, The USS Philadelphia collision was due to the other ship's sonar not seeing the submarine causing it to t bone the sub. The USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul incident was due to human error in rough weather, the USS Newport News collision was due to the large tanker creating a vacuum underneath the ship as it sailed swiftly above the sub, causing it to raise the sub's depth and collide. The USS Miami fire was due to a worker at the shipyard setting fire to the sub and had nothing to do with the sub itself. The USS Montpelier collision was due to human error and poor teamwork. Only God knows why the USS Jacksonville collided with so many things, however. So, all of these were human error and were not caused by "crappy US subs that cannot make it from point A to B". No vehicle is without accidents. Planes crash, cars collide and so do ships and submarines on occasion. You are just an idiot, and you don't know what you're talking about. And I would say that the US is already spying on you.

The deadlist submarine class the US built is the Sea-Wolf class, it's also the most expensive ship ever built at 5 billion a pop.

Even as more of the Columbia class come on line they should convert ALL of the old Ohio class to conventional guided missile carriers. Especially with the Gray zone tactics adopted by certain misbehaving nations it adds more flexibility to our response options.

I didn’t know the range of the D5. Over 7,000 miles is effing incredible. That much destructive power floating around under the sea, undetectable, with that much range. That’s easily the most effective deterrent in the nuclear triad.

Just think. Each of these missiles carries eight 100kt warheads. Each warhead is 7 times stronger than what hit Hiroshima back then. And there are 20 of these missiles on each Ohio Submarine. Whats even scarier is some of these boats have missiles carrying 475kt warheads. That's 33 times stronger than Hiroshima. Scary.

The Minute man and the Trident are BOTH ICBMs. Those are NOT hypersonic missiles. Not a single one of those items you listed are. Stop wasting peoples time with your BS.
