Great vocal harmonizing by the McGuires! Great sketch with the late, great Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop! (Shari was a great singer and puppeteer.) Great singing by Gisele McKenzie! And of course, great pop crooning by Dean!!

This episode of The Dean Martin Show was as of Jan.1966! Wow! I’m no longer wonder why it’s so successful. Dean Martin himself was the center of the show, his teams were incredible, working altogether as one! The show’s Perfect in every areas. Year 2023, I’m still having so much fun watching this. Thank you for uploading. Amazing work.

I wish today's stars were classy. It used to be red carpet events were a dress up occasion. There's nothing wrong with a handsome suit or a beautiful dress. Especially when music entertainers have a new song.

It would be nice to see these kinds of TV variety specials return.

It would be, but we truly don’t have the large quantity of quality and caliber of entertainers today as we had back then. A decent star back then had more real talent then those of today.

@@Michaelbos Even if we did, the show would not fly today because of cancel culture, political correctness & the general attitude of everyone being "offended". Our current state of society simply sucks, to put it plainly.

As great as Frank Sinatra was, he could NEVER have the kind of weekly variety show that Dean Martin had. Sinatra had some superb TV specials, but he did not do 'light' very well.

Dean's show was co-produced by Teram Incorporated, which had produced Julie Andrews ' 1965 TV special for NBC.

Tommy Sand's appearance is very reminiscent of the setting in the series, "Hullabaloo", also a NBC production around that time.

Bring back the good old days with sheer entertainment by real stars. Today they are all corrupted and political with not much talent Sigh Loved Dean Martin
@mauricebederon8694 ай бұрын
It was very rare that music for teenagers was featured on The Dean Martin Show. The reason for Tommy Sands' appearance was certainly the fact that he was married to Nancy Sinatra. The song "The statue" is well produced, but was not a success for Liberty Records. Teenager Artists from the 1950's and early 1960's often had a hard time asserting themselves during the British Invasion era in those days.

The Dean Martin Show was also shown in excerpts in some European countries. As a child I found the women around Dean very strange and thought of nightclubs. I was a kid, growing up in downtown of a big city. With the exception of a few songs, the music was never my cup of tea and the entire presentation showed the conservative side of the USA. I like also swing and jazz, but such shows were often too staid and stuffy for me.
