I had to watch the movie a few times to get a better understanding of the characters and the psychosis involved. Guess that makes me a disconnected person living a comfortable life...you got me man!!

Love Tench. When I first started the series, I couldn't help but think I saw his face somewhere before. He looked so damn familiar but I just couldn't pinpoint exactly where I saw him from. It was actually starting to get frustrating. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm still surprised how I picked up his face from such a small scene.

It's been a while since u watch it but they could be using names like Bob to delineate between people. The "we have no names" is tied to how they have been broken down in the movement, they give very thing for the movement they are the movement. If you look at it in that context it makes more sense why they call him "Bob' a very simple common name.

That's Holt McCallany, the guy who leads the group into this new level of insanity, starting at 2:06! I always thought he did such a great job here. He just perfectly conveys his character, a guy who has arrived at a "next level" understanding of the exalted wisdom he receives from his leader, and turns to his fellow cult members to elucidate what he has learned. And, he does it with a perfectly straight face, but I always thought you could sense the actor's sense of humor about the utter madness of what he was saying. Awesome job Holt!!!

He’s in a lot of great roles.. he was in men of honor in 2000, he’s been in law and order shows, svu and ci, he was lead character in lights out tv show that lasted a season in 2011 I think, and I didn’t see it but he was “the beast” in 2017 shot caller movie. 👍

This has always been my favorite scene in the movie for whatever reason. It shows how far things have gone, way past the point of no return for these guys. It's also a little comical and infinitely quotable

The pause and the delivery carry a lot of weight, and it's all it takes to make everyone join and repeat it. Tribal! In real life, unpromptedly, this does not happen very often which is why I think makes the scene special.

It's so funny. Edward Norton trying to get the project members to wake up, realise that all their mayhem led to the death of his friend. Then, amidst their grief and confusion, the grunty dude interprets it his own way - by dying for the cause, as it is in wars fought, life finally has real meaning. A rumbling bass at 2:31, and I love the subtle screen shake at 2:35 - it's like a savage, primodial beast erupting from its slumber, far out of anyone's control.. except Tyler Durden.

This part leaves me with a lump in my throat every time I see it. Bob was actually well off before joining Fight Club. He wasn't particularly bright, but he was a genuinely nice guy who had come to terms with the loss of his testicles (the result of trying to pursue a "masculine ideal") and was willing to continue to live his life.

GeneralOlde what kind of life can a man live as a literal castrated, feminine consumer? His death was one of the most symbolic moments in this film, he knew the risks and died for his willingness to reclaim his masculinity and belief. He transitioned from "bitch tit bob", a soft crybaby that attended support meetings, to "ROBERT PAULSON", a strong man that was an archetypical warrior for being true and dedicated to his cause. This symbolized his return to strength and masculine identity.

This scene is so wild. He finally gets some sleep, wakes up to find out just how crazy things have become. What his life is. He doesn’t even know what happened but can sense something (actually a lot) isn’t quite right. I’m just appalled at myself that by this time during my first watch, I STILL hadn’t realized Tyler was made up. It gives you so many clues when you watch it the second time. The way they reveal the twist in this movie is perfect. I watched this with my friend. He’s a smart guy. And I asked him during this part “do you have this movie figured out yet?” And he was like “no, what the hell is going on?” And I was like man.. this movie is amazing. It’s actually great when you rewatch it as well. It makes you realize just how big of a nutcase this guy is. Goes to meetings for people who are dying, starts banging this crazy chick who tried to OD on pills, blows up his own apartment, beats himself up and draws a crowd by doing it night after night, starts squatting in an old abandoned house where nobody lives, starts making bombs out of human fat and even brings the bombs on planes. It’s totally the psyche of a person who has lost touch with reality, but when you first watch it, you have no idea. It’s a brilliant movie. And super entertaining. The acting is as good as it gets as well.

The film is imaginatory, nothing happens until it happens; everything is a copy of the narrator's mind. We get many clues that indicate that the film, which is a product of capitalism, isn’t real. The shots were Jack talks directly to the camera and when "they" talk about cigarette burn, for instance, are clues.

Yeah there were many weird instances in the movie, like when the police officers were trying to cut edrward balls, and the black police officer entered the room, edward didn't scream untill later, also the officers trying to cut his balls in the very same room he's being investigated at lmfao

That's what I love about this movie. It's a lot like Monty Python's THE LIFE OF BRIAN, in that some poor guy just wants to live his life and be left alone, and the people around him are so desperate for something to believe in that they will take ANYthing he says as the Word of the Lord. Needless to say, hijinks ensue.

Lmao, I never even thought of that, but yes this movie and the Life of Brian have a ridiculous amount of parallels, all that Fight Club is missing is a stop-motion scene with puppet-aliens smackdab in the middle of the movie and some more musical numbers and it'd be a re-telling of The Life of Brian in modern times, hell Fight Club already has an iconic ending song just like Life of Brian, so really with a little editing I bet you could turn Fight Club into a mostly-accurate "remake" of The Life Of Brian, just without most of the Religious and Ancient History stuff 😂😂😂

Just the simple fact that they were able to recover Robert Paulson's body after he got shot. Let that sink in. An officer in active pursuit, who shot a dude in the head. Suddenly stopped pursuit, and let them take off? Nah, bacon got cooked when the homie went down.
