With the centuries of Arab rule continuing to the modern day, the country would be quite stable. Instead what we got is the Arabs that were dominated by the Turks for whole centuries. Even if the Western powers granted Hashemites whole of Arabia, it would be a new country, without said tradition of nationhood it would be difficult for them to stay stable - not to mention outside forces would always seek to use the ethnic conflicts to destroy the country. It's the same issue as with Africa or even Balkans - had there been continued native rule throughout whole centuries, instead of foreign one, those regions would have a chance to be stable and prosperous, even with many ethnic minorities, because all of them would be integrated in the society by that point.
