The actor did such a good job playing this character, He is Hands down the most selfish character besides Homelander. Dude is just a Pathetic nobody who doesn’t give a shit who he hurts as long as he satisfies his impulses. Which is hilarious because in the first couple of seasons you would think he would change, but hell no and he truly does not deserve any sympathy especially for this season.

It's intentional from the perspective outside of the show, but in universe it's not the deep trying to be funny. Chace is intentionally funny, "The Deep" is unintentionally funny. And Chace does such a great job of it 😂. All the small details.
