The Holy Eucharist holds a profound hidden reality within the Catholic Church. Though unseen, it is deeply real: after consecration, the bread and wine become the actual Body and Blood of Jesus. This transformation represents the greatest treasure of the Church. Catholics believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, a mystery at the heart of their faith.
Receiving the Eucharist means accepting Jesus Himself, the purest of the pure. It prompts self-reflection on the state of one’s heart: Am I spiritually prepared and pure to welcome Jesus? Catholics are called to recognize the miraculous change of bread and wine into Jesus' Body and Blood and approach the Eucharist with reverence and deep faith. Father, you explain the presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, with so much faith and love. The greatest treasure, the greatest secret in the church is that we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus, when we receive the Holy Eucharist. After hearing your talk, I promised Jesus that I will hereafter receive Jesus after much preparation and from this moment onwards, and will plead with Jesus to forgive me for the number of times that I have received Him with less preparation.
