Satan loves death. His influence introduced this alien trauma to our beautiful world. Here Spurgeon encourages us with thoughts of its defeat. How wonderful that the Lord Jesus overcame death, sin and Satan when He died on the cross.
As yet we do not see Satan crushed. But, the day will come when he is overthrown.

Was this man a Sabbath keeper or not ? because he seems to be all over the place on it through the years.

Well he preached these sermons at his church on Sundays, " The Lord's Day " so to speak, not that it matters.

@MariaVazquez-du3st The Sabbath was on Saturday, he uses that word a fair bit, and it made me wonder as though we are still under it.

@MariaVazquez-du3st Maybe it was the era he was living in, perhaps they sometimes used the word "Sabbath " to mean Sunday church?
