Made me think how did we banish the Illuminate in the 1st place? We couldn't have just pushed them off the galactic map and call it a day cuz we'd have borders to keep track of their movements. So would it be unlikely we used the Dark fluid with the intent on killing them under the guise of banishment? Cuz if so, ignoring the super colony we gave them, they are probably gonna be thrilled now that their "door" is open again.

Still hoping that Helldivers 2's ending is the total defeat of Super Earth; it would be such a bold and unique choice for ending a game of this magnitude to do something totally different and unexpected. I'd respect the hell out of them is they did.

I’m still not sure if AH is ready to add the Illuminate as of yet as the last set of leaks I saw they’re still in development. Maybe another blue laser fiasco might happen again. With them slowing down on patched and making sure to test it might be a little longer until we get them.

I think a theory is when the illuminate were pushed out of the galaxy they ended up becoming more zealotry and ended up enslaved by eldritch gods. Maybe during the process they’re in a separate dimension unable to return but this black hole is a portal that will allow them to return, could be tragic that they’re just trying to escape enslavement or they’re fully possessed and are being used to conquer our galaxy

I have noticed one thing ftl in the black holes in front of you, load in and its behind like you jumped through it. Then the ship faces it when you walk on your deck. Also its pull is interesting, i know things were millions of miles away but shouldnt that still be pulling planets towards itself, yeah its pulling spores and stuff. But it feels we can be closer than a safe distance. We also delivered if its a wormhole, an ultradense core of ship furl plus a sectors worth of spores. If i was a betting man, two things will happen, the illuminate attack down south, at the same time they release from the hole a modified varient of the bug spores creating new bugs, causing our distraction. Its also likely, considering cyborys had more advanced units than the bots, and they have had free reign of cyberstan, its more likely that the bots will be upgraded. (If the bots were aided by the illuminate i dont know, as they came from out of sector and they were in comms with an unknown group outside the rim we have) But yeah.... this hole while really cool... is gonna be an issue

This isn’t a black hole, a black hole has the weird light surrounding and in front of it disk. This is more likely a wormhole. A wormhole bends space time and cuts a 2d hole in the flat fabric of the universe, what’s a circle in 3d? A sphere. You could see the stars on the other side of the wormhole normally ( if we ever encountered one )but since the illuminate were banished, they might be like the reapers from mass effect, stuck in deep-space where it is so incredibly dark that you cannot even see your own body without a light. This is a worm hole that forced the terminid super colony into from the inside out, leaving most likely a destructive and desecrated planet in its wake, with trillions of bodies of dead terminids. This is easily indirectly a threat to the illuminate and their salvation from being stranded in the darkest part of the universe, they will then come through the worm hole and invade with an indescribable force. Terrifying.

Pretty sure that's just the ship making the sound seeing as wed probably be getting slightly pulled into it..

Yeah, Illuminate is coming back. Playing HD1, I've faced their strongest, which is terrifying compared to the bugs and borgs because of the sheer mental power they commanded. The entire Meridia mission I was "We need to exterminatus this place now." but the Dark Fluid, an crushing it into a black hole, made me wary. Now... "We made a terrible mistake."

Gazed into the black hole a few days back, it almost sounds like a big space whale is in there. Very ominous

The npc next to the robotics workshop says that it was so easy to capture dark fluid from the illuminate in the first war that its almost like they wanted us to have it

Honestly I hope they don’t just plop in the illuminates and say they “surprise attacked”. I hope they start on one planet and quickly spread to multiple sectors over the span of 2 or 3 days. That would be so much cooler way of introducing them.

I only know lore from in the game but one of the NPCs on the ship (the one not near the map) talks about the Illuminate giving Super Earth the fluid so I didn't think the Illuminate were a secret?
