I did a run with the Devil recently on the same difficulty, and I feel like you made a huge mistake *just* going for the scepters. In the run I had, I had 2 Ghost Axes, 1 Ghost Shiv, and 3 Ghost Scepters, and my Scepters were going in the hundreds of damage. I had over 300 health in that run, because I killed so many more enemies because of the bonus damage and attack speed from the Melee Ethereal weapons. Also, please stop neglecting early Harvest! A single level-up of 5 will net you over 100 material over the course of the run, it's 100% worth it, especially since it scales up over time!

I find it really weird how you kept saying you didn't have enough damage (which is true), then simply refused to spend any money to fix that issue, or even buy cheap items that help with it. Having Ghost Scepters does nothing if they don't kill, so you ended up losing more max health by not buying damage.

27:15 you can buy +8 max HP and -4 dodge for just 10 max HP. Seems like a fair trade for me

If you really want this build to work you need to reroll your level ups for ranged damage. You couldn't kill anything after wave 9 because you were sitting at 2-3 ranged damage, and struggling to kill means you don't stack the HP you need to buy a ton of items which is what makes you OP. Instead, you just kind of made yourself into a tank, which is fine, but it plateaus the build quickly.

in some way this character is better than others because he has cheaper shops and if you accumulate a lot of coins and health regen you become practically immortal

Armor increases your damage resist by 10% or 0.1 per point, where the damage you take is 1/(1+resist). In other words it increases the effectiveness of each point of HP (including from healing) by 10% per armor.

Might be a nice character for thieves daggers. All of that extra money is just straight up extra health.

I think the mutation is time or boss hp based, whichever reached the threshold faster.

you should try a devil super tank build accumulating max health (through the devil) and minimizing buys!

More money equals to more health for this character, so technically speaking, getting more kills and getting more money would be better than going for a full scepter build. You're barely doing any damage to them after wave 15, so killing them is more important than gaining a few max health through scepter kills. You're gonna get that health through your money at the end of the round and through buying things in this shop anyway.

You always make a "tank" build :( I think te scepters would be far way better with damage, attack speed, crit and penetration. More kills, more money, more HP, more items.

i just did a run earlier today with demon, i would say, get ghost scepters :) I ended up on around 500 hp bcoz of them :)and i had roughly 100 harvesting too

I went the thief knives for this to get as many mats possible converted to hp. Did madlad damage at almost 500hp. Didn't even have the 1hp/100 mats object unlocked. This character is very fun to play with.

I think the weapon choice was off. Maybe try blades/crit with a trophy and banks? Not sure but seems like you could get like 500+ hp and the money hp seems to outweigh the weapon selection. Who knows, I like the character and could be used in many ways.

i think the weapon choice was fine, but neglecting damage reduced the amount of health he could have gained.

Seems like with this build it would make sense to stack more damage with the scepters, since more kills = more health. It would snowball with the right balance?

was thinking the same, if you can kill faster not only can you get more life from scepters but also from the materials dropped. If you have 60 hp, 25 armour and 40% dodge with some regen you are already practically immortal and he already had almost that much armor and dodge, he could have dumped a lot more into dps and farm even more life, i think it would have been even safer cause most enemies would have been dead but its also true that many rolls in this run were pretty trash

@@maxiarg7412 He got very lucky with getting the ghost scepters so early and abundantly but kind of ruined his luck by not rerolling his level ups into straight ranged damage.

sifd didnt realized the bag pays itself exactly like other runs it costs 3 hp it gives 20 coin half of it is 10 which is 1 hp so just like other run 3 crate pays itself

I‘m pretty happy they massively nerfed HP Regen, because now the Torture would’ve been slightly better than your 27% which should be around 2.7 per second or so (maybe less, I know 10 is 1 per second, but maybe it has some deminishing returns)

If only you got the +1 piercing before wave 9. 6 Ghost Scepters with 1 more piercing is absolute beast mode.

Don't get max life from shops/levels and get some better r.damage/a.speed so you can actually kill stuff and get drops to get max life. I just had a run with 5 scepters and a ghost flint where i got >1k hp, >100 a.speed with a couple of blindfolds and like 60 damage per shot.

I would love to see a run with devil and 6 scepters where you go pure damage and attack speed killing everything in one shot gaining max health

You made one critical mistake: each ghost weapon gives you 1 stat if that particular weapon gets 20/however many kills, meaning, if you have 2 scepters you can kill 38 enemies without getting the bonus. It's more efficient to have one of each ghost series weapon and combine whenever possible, ensuring you get enough of each stat each round.

hmmm i am thinking about some interesting concept of a weapon like it does a lot of damage but doesnt kill enemies that weapon leaves enemies into 1 hp it would be extremely good with the weapons that gives you stats on kills

Sifd, the boss goes to phase two either by 50% timer or 50% life, whatever comes first.

So, I hear you on torture. However, its not an issue so much that its potentially weaker than a build that focuses super heavily on healing, its that at 5 HP per second, it is very likely the only healing item you ever need, meaning the downside isnt a significant downside and it then allows you to spend everything else on damage or whatever. Like, imagine taking that damage item that increases your damage by 5% every 5 seconds, except you are in a boss mode that doesnt have a time limit. You would find that item and then can completely ignore damage after that, just focusing on HP and heals to stay alive long enough until you could one shot the boss with a rank one taser. Its a silly example, but that is where my head is at for the item.

I think to make this build to really reach op status, there is only one item and a build you need. And that is Hunting trophy and crit build, forget the ghost scepter, go all out on gathering those money

you should do the demon with scepters again but focus on damage and harvesting/money gain...you'd probably be gaining even more health than you did this run

I agree that ethereal weapons seem great for the class. I would mix axes and flints myself.

I think the video makes an incredibly strong point for at the bare minimum ond ghost flint. the scepter attack so slowly with no piercing that sifd is literally surrounded the entire time. add to that that more attack speed means more kills means at the bare minimum a flint is a good idea

Balancing the life vs upgrades is way better game play than just accumulating HP and running around with hp regen. I didn't enjoy that run.

But Sifd, 20% of 20 money does not give you 1-2max life, coz its only 4 coins, and 1 life is given for every 10 coin...

31:00 it was actually more broken because it gives healing quicker, so even though it was net 25 up regen, it was still better since it was much more constant healing as opposed to every 5 seconds

Thats why its broken for low max hp builds because it is constant but you dont need constant regen for high max hp builds like this because you can guarantee that you can stall and tank until you get back the hp regen you have.

Buffing the game to make it harder because a few items make the game too easy doesn't make sense. Makes it more likely people won't win without those items. I understand that nerfing the player options might not always be the way to go. But nerfing one item is way faster and achieve the same results as buffing 10-20 other items in the same category and all the enemies to match the new power level of the player. Also Torture Healing every second is a one stop shop, its power lies mainly in the fact you can save a run that didn't have healing.
