7 жыл бұрынThis is it! First shakedown run of the Diesel Weasel Rat Rod Mini Mow Kart! This thing actually works! Took it for a rip up the street, testing the throttle, steering and brakes. I'm very pleased with the results!

Love the red rims and painted tires. When I seen the exhaust I thought it might be neat to have a small little "flapper" on the top. Great job. Nice machine!

Having been a diesel mechanic in my younger years and a newly minted go-kart builder, I'm inspired to go with diesel with my next build. Thanks for the inspiration.

after hearing my diesel chugging on my low speed mud mower for years, it's odd to hear a diesel engine on something that goes so fast. don't kid yourself! that thing is awesome!

man i like it the way it is, and with the painted wheels and white letter tires. the mismatched colors on the panels is what makes it charming! if all you did was finish painting the rims and the white letters id say its a winner for sure!

That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Lots of down low wheel spin. I have a video of a flamethrower I built on my channel that uses diesel. It's just the greatest fuel in the world.

Nice work! My single cylinder Onan DJA 3KW generator stops via a compression release electric solenoid. Works perfect, original factory design circa 1970. Stopping yours with compression release should be no problem.

That things awesome. Rollin coal on something small like that just wicked, a small Diesel engine toy would absolutely complete my garage. I'd try half the stuff I've done modding my automotive diesels on a small one👌🏻 The too low (chassis)comment, haha nothings too low when going custom.... It took me a while but i understand the low life a little better now.

That thing is pretty cool Doc! It rolls coal like a beast! I wonder if you could get a lower engagement spring for the torque converter. It seems to engage a little high in the RPM range. Awesome build!

Thank you, I appreciate the props! I'm looking into tuning the CVT to engage at a lower RPM, just searching the interwebs for different springs and weights. Also looking into tuning the driven unit a bit, too.

4:45 Very true. One of my bikes is kick start only, and has a comp release lever. Pulling that lever in while the engine is running, kills the engine right now.

Dave Ackerman- Thanks. And... yeah. I sure as heck hope so. You're supposed to get better at things, not worse. lol Actually, I really didn't know how this was going to go. I've done some basic go kart stuff, and some tractor mods. This was new territory for me- with a few familiar elements. I'm working hard to get the finishing touches done on this.

I like the kill lever. Probably a lot better for the engine than cutting off the intake.
