Different people have different strengths. I’ve seen a 1600 remember 15 move deep into Busch Gass gambit main line but playing end game like a shoe. Likewise, I’ve also seen a 1600 playing f3 on move 2, block center pawn with bishop in the opening, move the king, lose a few pawn because of that, get into end game down 3 pawn then play it like a god and win it.

This is extremely helpful to watch! Not only getting one perspective, but two on the same game, really shows the differences and what works and what doesn't. I am interested to know when you were kicking the knight around at ~22:00, was there a reason you didn't consider a counterattack on your bishop from pawn to b4 instead of him moving the knight there? He'd be briefly down a pawn depending on how you responded, but not for long because you've got no good way to hold it (same as the other line you considered).

Excellent video. A 700 elo player isn't a 700 player if they're explaining every move. Jackson played a game higher than his rating because the video format forced him to think and explain every move. Slowing down and checking your moves is probably worth 500 points of elo.

Yeah, he was really tuned in because of the circumstance. We can all have these moments/games where we're as locked in as we can possibly be mentally but there's no way we can maintain that for long periods of time, hence why when the dude normally plays he's a 700. Even still, it's still super impressive he played as well as he did. Stockfish estimated his Elo for that game at an incredible 1400.

Hello Nelson; I've been enjoying your channel and the "how each side is thinking" approach. For this game at around the 21:00 - 22:00 mark I was wondering about a knight sacrifice with white knight d5->f6. It forces a take response by the pawn which would open up a hole in the king pawn defense, doubles up the f-file pawns, more heavily blocks in the rook (and it wouldn't be able to defend the lead f pawn), and if the knight on g6 stays, it could be pinned by a queen or rook on the g file. I often wonder about sacrifices, especially ones that offer up longer term benefits at the cost of fewer pieces to handle mid-game positioning. Thanks again!

Why do you think it was a good move? I'm just another low level scrub but I'm looking into it myself cause you've got me curious and wanting to learn a little. Are you saying he should do that with the goal of attacking the queen? If so, you're liable to end up with Qd2 and now the knight is under attack and needs to move or die and just lose tempo at best.
@dk7gaming14
@dk7gaming14 5 ай бұрын
@@Taima Thank you for answering. The idea is not only to gain tempo but also after his queen moves, Qxd7, the knight has to move and Nxh3 sac the knight and after pawn takes you can take back with queen, Now, the opponent's knight is under attack(according to where he has moved his queen) and there are ideas of f5 or something

8. … Nd4 seems pretty crushing. He can’t move the queen and allow Bg4 or doubled F pawns, and he can’t trade with the knight due to the fork, so he has to trade with the bishop. After exd4 his knight has no good squares (both squares give it zero moves), so Na4 a6 forces a favorable trade for black (Nxc5 axb4 Nb3 c5 with a solid pawn structure, space advantage, and better pieces).
