Hate to be that guy, but a Cortard usually has 2 shots which would be half of your 4oz cups, if its a single shot I think it's called a piccolo- 2 shot in a 4oz is also referred to as a Gibraltar but this area is tricky as some people say using ristrettos would be traditional, at this point you are probably in a conversation with the barista who can tailor it for you. Looks delicious tho, good technique

hate to be that guy, but a traditional Spanish Cortado is made with one shot & 1oz steamed milk. a piccolo is made with one shot & 2oz of steamed milk. a Gibraltar on the other hand, was created in the early 2000s in the US. a coffee company ordered Gibraltar glasses & they were too small for any of their drinks to fit in so they played around and came up with 2 shots & 2oz steamed milk and named it after the glass. sounded good tho, nice one.

@@kitjoslin Eh, it's probably not that expensive, Spain is king of cheap tourism (sadly). Anyway, I came here to say that I kniw nothing about oz or shots, but in Spain cortados are served in the same small cups (or glasses, sometimes) as espressos. Hopefully one day you'll earn enough to go wherever you want. 😊

Macchiato is “stained” with milk basically espresso with maybe 3 spoonfuls of milk foam ? We don’t pour it like that cuz too much milk goes in u steam the milk then scoop up just from the surface a few dollops until u get a circle of white on the top. Cotardo usually comes in the same glass as a latte but with the bottom pushed in to allow for 1:1 ratio of espresso to milk. Usually people go for cotardos to get a feel for the cafes coffee flavour. How I know : ex barista at a specialty coffee house

Yes! Most of the coffee shops that I have worked at measure their double shot at 3 ounces and pair it with 3 ounces of streamed milk (6oz)

a cortado is equal parts espresso and milk, one shot & one oz. a piccolo is one part espresso & two parts milk, so one shot and 2 oz.

They're the same. Cortado is the name from Spain, macchiato is from Italy.

Son diferentes en cantidad de cafe. El macchiato tiene un ratio 1:0.5 (una dosis de espresso para 0.5 de leche) El cortado tiene un ratio 2:1 (más café diluido en 36ml para 1 de leche).

@21backwards78 When I had the Cortado, the milk was more in there than in a macchiato; the macchiato’s always supposed to have a dollop or drop of milk and so the cortado’s less bitter and there’s more of it.

@@21backwards78Depends on how milk or espresso forward you want it to be. Cortado is equal parts milk and espresso so it's balanced. Macchiato is mostly espresso with a little milk to cut it. So it comes off as a softened and creamy espresso
