What’s that got to do with an Addison’s Crisis? It’s a straightforward reaction to an Adrenal Cortisol shortage,I ended up in a high dependency unit with a central line into my heart, I was in a state of collapse with cardiovascular shutdown constant vomiting and shitting myself to death.. all due to a case of undiagnosed Addisons Disease. Glucose or the lack of it doesn’t cause Addisons Disease.

@@dennyferguson7854they don't care that we will actually die. They want everyone to feel bad because they have a group of symptoms that some jerk decided to call adrenal fatigue. It's messed things up seriously for those of us with the actual medical diagnoses that fall under adrenal insufficiency. Those with the non-medical diagnosis of adrenal fatigue have no clue how much more scary it is because of the inappropriate fake diagnosis they have, and how much work was being done, and is being done, to educate about adrenal insufficiency. It's so dangerous and irresponsible using the terms "adrenal fatigue".

Fritz Smith Opoids can cause cortisol to plunge too low. To a point where it's dangerous. I know of 2 people that have had this happen to them. They were tired all the time, lost too much weight, etc and didn't know why. They weren't from doctor to doctor thinking they were sick. Doctors took years to figure out that the cause was the opioids. They were both taking it for spine pain. One was on 2 pills a day for 6 months and the other 4 a day for a few years. Adderol can mess with cortisol too. Caffeine in coffee can make the body think it's under attack and raises cortisol too.

Fritz Smith Yup. I have low cortisol and the fight or flight. It's the worst. From way too much stress for way too long. I found a great doctor on KZfaq who has great info on Cortisol and adrenals. Doctor Eric Berg. I also really like Dr. Lam. They talk about how to raise cortisol. Like relaxing as much as possible. Light exercise, where you don't think about anything but the beauty around you as you walk. Meditation. As stress free as possible. High dose Vitamin C IV's, along with other vitamins and micronutrients in the IV are what finally gave me energy again. Magnesium at night helps me tons with the panic feeling. Detoxing too. You probably know more than I do on this subject but I really hope that helps in some way. Facebook also has a Adrenal Fatigue group that has good info.

Fritz Smith and thank you for that info!! I find myself craving sugar out of the blue now. Adrenal fatigue is the worst. I went from running 10 miles a day and a really good life to not having energy to leave my house. I'd get lost going places I knew well, panic, depression, anxiety, etc. I have energy from the IV's but now trying to fix the rest. It's definitely possible to fix and the body follows the brain. 😊

Fritz Smith Fritz thank you! I appreciate what you've sent so much! I've read tons about this in the last few months but it's hard to remember what I've read with the brain fog. I'm curious why you asked about the antibiotics because, yes! My doctor misdiagnosed me with Lyme disease and put a picc line in me and gave me 4 times more than the normal amount of ceftriaxone for a month. They found high CFS Protein in my spinal tap. This makes sense due to the inflammation part that comes along with cortisol. I was having slight symptoms off and on before the picc line but I also took antibiotics off and on growing up to keep my skin clear. The antibiotics from the picc line definitely made me become much worse. I went from tired every few days to exhausted every single day to the point where I couldn't function. I got sicker and sicker from the picc line and that's when the doctors realized that I don't have Lyme disease. I'm sure those antibiotics messed up my gut even more. I also think the messed up cortisol might have been brought on due to getting 4 major shots of cortisone within one year. I've read that adrenal fatigue happens to many athletes who get a lot of Cortizone shots and to performers on Broadway they get sick. That's when I realized that I was being Cortizone shots for my job as well. I do voice work for a living and whenever I was sick and lost my voice, my doctor gave me a major cortisone shot. Within an hour, my voice would come completely back, sounded good and I could work. A few hours after, I'd be sick again. I never knew what I was being given at the time and just blindly trusted that doctors wouldn't give me anything that could hurt me. I've had a huge wake up call. Sorry for the long message. I'm still in fight or flight mode but have been finally coming out of it slowly in the last month.

You won't go into ADRENAL CRISIS from adrenal fatigue. You would need to have the actual medical diagnosis of ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY to actually be worried about ADRENAL CRISIS. Adrenal fatigue is NOT a medical diagnosis and it isn't life threatening like the actual medical diagnoses of ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY and ADRENAL CRISIS.

I believe that once you notice adrenal insufficiency or crisis, it has already become a "domino effect" and the body is now experiencing a multitude of insufficiency that need to be addressed in order to begin a recovery process. I'm not a English major by far so I hope I used the proper words while trying my best to give a decent answer. I hope that made sense. Good luck if you're struggling with this problem. I know its tough.

If you have secondary adrenal insufficiency then there is a possibility of correcting it and going back to normal. It depends on what caused it. If you have primary there is no cure and you have to take a steroid every day to live.

@Jazzynspazzy
@Jazzynspazzy 3 ай бұрын
@@devinpeirce7152sorry, but secondary adrenal fatigue is also not real. I have secondary Adrenal insufficiency. This was caused by a brain tumor that gave me Cushing’s Disease. Once tumor was removed, I am in remission but adrenally insufficient, so my body does not produce any cortisol. You could also get secondary adrenal insufficiency from taking steroids for a long period of time from another condition like autoimmune disease. Then once you stop taking them your body sort of forgets how to make its own cortisol, in which case you would try to slowly wean off the hydrocortisone and trick your adrenal glands into producing once again. Which is possible. In my case, it looks like I will be SAI forever 😏 Going on 3 years and I don’t recommend it to anyone. 🙃

No it doesn't. That's Primary/secondary adrenal insufficiency that's diagnosed by a Endocrinologist with a 8am cortisol and ACTH stimulation blood test. Not by Naturopath or Functional Medicine. Also not by saliva or finger pricks cortisol tests. A recent review of 58 studies concluded that there is no scientific basis to associate adrenal impairment as a cause of fatigue. The authors report the studies had some limitations. The research included used many different biological markers and questionnaires to detect adrenal fatigue. For example, salivary cortisol is one of the most common ordered tests used to make a diagnosis. The cortisol level, when checked four times in a 24-hour period, was no different between fatigued and healthy patients in 61.5% of the studies. The review raises questions around what should get tested (blood, urine, and/or saliva), the best time, how often, what ranges are considered normal, and how reliable the tests are, to name a few. In summary, there is no formal criteria to define and diagnose adrenal fatigue.

@TheLastAnarchist69

Western doctors will sooner start you on a lifetime regimen of steroids before ever acknowledging HPA Axis Dysfunction. "Adrenal Fatigue" isn't the right term to use, but its very well know that a number of things can cause your HPA to go haywire, which can make you produce either sufficient or insufficient amounts of cortisol. Bruce McEwen was a world renowned endocrinologist who wrote about this spectrum many years ago. This doctor here doesn't say a word about that research. I wonder why.
