@@mathmagician155why would a soccer player want to run a 7 minute mile? Most can do it naturally as a result of soccer. I could run a 4:36 mile from soccer, but it’s not specific to the sport so why bother training specifically for it?

@aaronharman5431 I think my fastest mile ever was 7:30 and that's when I was playing for two teams at once. I don't want to run a 7 minute mile just for the sake of it but if I can run it it means my fitness and stamina is fantastic.

Don't worry just get into the habit of running regularly and your body will slowly get faster. The great thing about running is you don't have to be great at it to derive a lot of enjoyment and benefit from it. Eventually you will start feeling like something is missing when you haven't run in a while!

With practice you will be able to get faster. Also it isn’t standardized, it looks slow because he doesn’t need to much effort for 9min pace and can relax his upper body. Nevertheless there’s now reason to beat yourself up about it. Your doing better than the 99% of people who haven’t even started or even thought about running regularly.

To shave a minute off a mile you only have to run about 1.14 seconds per faster 100ft so when you look at it that way it makes sense how it can look so relaxed. Even when looking at 8 minutes compares to 5 because that would still only be about just over 3.4 seconds shaved off per 100 ft
