I've had my current Neocolors for at LEAST 12 years and decided to treat myself to a new batch of Is and IIs! In this video, I'll show you the difference between the two types of crayons, how to use each, and how I like to pair them with a sketchbook and take a tiny art studio with me wherever I go.

Hi Jackie … the newer red boxes always come with a set of clear stickers so you can mark the box I or II…

Hi Jackie! I also just bought these! Take a look at the clear stickers that came in the box. They are meant to stick on the front of the can box to show neocolor I OR II 😃 Love your videos! Love from Denmark

Hi Jackie, this has inspired me to get out my neocolors 1 & 2 and play! And to make a little travel kit which will make it easier to throw in my bag whenever I want.

nice scribble!! i started my neocolor ii collection with that same set of 15. i have at least twice as many now, by getting individual crayons in open stock (Blick). i don't have any neocolor i's because i like *everything* to move with water! :) if you ever buy single crayons..., chinese green, saffron and jade are some of my favorite colors. thanks as always for all the inspiration.

I bought Inktense Blocks about five years ago and I still have my original set! Derwent makes these and pencils a'plenty. A very smart investment. 😊

You could use acrylic paint and then use Crayola crayons as a resist...cool textures and ideas. I learned the crayon resist technique from Dan Tirels.

Hi, Jackie I am so much of a homebody I haven't done much with travel art materials, but I think I prefer a pocket size water color set, water brushes and a black pen. I do have Neocolor II's and love them, but it wouldn't be long before I found a melted mess if I tried the outdoor thing. I loved listening to the kid noises as a background in this video. Perfect for the video. Nancy

lol I can relate to the homebody part, for SURE! Sometimes it’s just nice to have them handy even if I arrive early to an appointment or have to go to the DMV 😆❤️❤️❤️

Great video. I’ve started carrying a 4x4 sketchbook & a pencil case around with me just this month which is a great tool. I love my Caren d’ache II neopastal crayons Great idea and it will make waaiting for appointments etc. much easier. Thanks.

Fun, Jackie. Thanks for the video. The Neocolor IIs are also available singly at our local art store, so that might be an avenue for folks who want to try them without buying the set. Just buy the three primary colors and three secondary colors. Not sure if the Neo Is are available singly.

Totally doable! Someone just let me know that the stickers I rushed past actually become labels for the tins so you can tell the difference 😅🤗

interesting video, neocolors crayons are not too expensive, all art supplies are expensive --watercolor tubes 10 bucks each, I used to paint in watercolors, they all dried out and i have to be careful to open them to use them again, we have to pay price for the pleasure

Also, comparison shopping is important here. At least in the United States, one can compare prices from Blick, Jerry's Artarama (silly name!), Cheap Joe's Art Supplies, Amazon. etc .
