@@khyrianstorms Are you talking about gta online or red dead online? Because both games for the past year or two have not been in the best situation especially red dead online but if you're talking about gta online I wouldn't say Rockstar was only focusing on the online because we know they're mostly working on gta 6, as for gta online it's an online game so it isn't going to have the same level of immersion and detail as a single player game considering the the point of the game is to play with your friends

One important thing about these kind of open world games is - motivation to explore. The rpg ubisoft games features a visually stunning world but with lots of repeated boring side quests across the world which makes me not want to explore bcz I know the events are going to be the same again and again. But with rdr2, the world events are soo good. It's more natural and not quest like and it's like exploring in our lives, which really makes me want to explore. The old ubisoft games did have some repetitive content but bcz it's not an rpg, I really didn't have to complete those missions but in rpg games like origins, odyssey, I had to do those missions for the sake of my character.

The difference is quite simple and can easily be reckognized by any person that has played even one game of each company. Rockstar ultimately aims on releasing finished and technically flawless games with no bugs and their goal is to make a game both they and the fans will like, not giving a fuck about what people will find ''bad'', politically incorrect etc. and that way, money comes to them instead of them chasing it like dogs. In conclusion they don't have a problem with releasing a game every 3-10 years as long as it is complete, and exactly how they want it resulting in games that deserve a place in the best games of all time (all of them) and are not just games but genuine experiences. Ubisoft makes 2-3 single player releases a year, most of the times full of bugs, unfinished and drowned in micro-transactions. As long as people buy the games THEY DON'T GIVE AN ABSOLUTE FLYING FUCK if it is going to be good or not. They can be described by the fact that all of their games are like playing the same game but with different themes (the so called ubisoft formula that consists of a huge open world, with an exploration system that feels kind of pointless and extremely dull and repetitive side missions. Now they have started to release better games over the past few years and games like Assassin's creed Origins and Odyssey are two of my oat favourites. But after that they just copied and copied. And tbh almost every open world game of their's except these two games are bad and boring. They are two entirely different gaming companies and what makes the difference is each company's mindset which I just previously analyzed. I think I speak on behalf of all gamers when I say that we prefer 1000 times more Rockstars 47 games of which at least 30 are spectacular and amazing experiences rather than ubisoft's 149 games of which maybe 20 are objectively good or above good.
@mafiartx
@mafiartx Ай бұрын
Also, it depends on the artstyle and lore of the game. You cannot just put two clips side-by-side from each company and compare them since each of them targets something different... For example, Rockstar tends to focus more on realism and fluidity while Ubisoft tends to focus more on the world and immersion.
@omista1304
@omista1304 Ай бұрын
Yes that was the core part of the video, pointing out the differences between the two studios and whats common among their games, for example like I said in the video R* games are more fluid and realistic which is what makes their games so immersive well Ubisoft focuses more on the world and gameplay which is why their characters move faster and are more lighter and why their worlds are so beautiful.

There is no comparison. RDR2 has ruined my ability to play games. Its too good. The world, The animals, the scope the immersion. Its very hard to play rdr2 and break through the veil that its actually a video game and not real. I have over 1000 hours in RDR2 over multiple playthroughs over the years and I still find new npcs and new things in the world. I think origins is my fav for assassin's creed but its still sub par to RDR2

Awesome put-together OmiSTA! Rockstar definitely takes their time to make a solid game. And players appreciate that. Very deliberate with Awesome results. For years. People also, appreciate the Assassins Creed series, but their newest effort with Assassins Creed Shadows by Ubisoft Quebec is highly, HIGHLY disrespectful. To misrepresent an entire Race of people. Particularly the Africans who today, are NOT down with Sodomy, so the whole GAY references are WELL out of touch. Also the thievery of Japanese signage and artworks without permission and then Ubisoft having to apologize, tells you a lot of where these developers and publishers minds are, NOT! Great work!

Since 2007, Rockstar have released FOUR games. Just R. GTA 4, Max Payne 3, GTA 5 and then red dead 2. Maybe we could count in the Gta definitive edition trilogy too. Since 2007, Ubisoft have released THIRTEEN games in assassin's creed series ALONE. Let alone their other slops like far cry which has basically been the same recycled crap since far cry 3, or watchdogs, or their foray into multiplayer games. It's simply a matter of quality over quantity. Not to mention, while Rockstar is also guilty of being a greedy company, at the very least, it cares about it's product. Incredible stories, amazing character animations, voice acting, and just a much more alive open world, especially in red dead 2. Ubisoft games on the other hand are basically rip offs of other games, or copy pasted garbage. Current AC is basically a sorry attempt at making a witcher 3 clone, with empty husk of an open world that looks beautiful but feels dead on the inside. If it wasn't bad already, they're now doubling down on DEI infection and making their games even worse than before. Lastly, nice video dude.
@omista1304
@omista1304 Ай бұрын
Thanks man. I've said in my other videos the only way ubisoft can have a come back is if they focus on quality over quantity, I think ubisoft have forgotten or maybe they don't know what the fans want from them, well as for Rockstar as you mentioned can be greedy (gta+) they know what we expect from them and they deliver, I honestly thought after ac mirage released they had finally understood what we want from them, but now they're releasing ac shadows which like I've said in another video will probably end up sucking because these days ubisoft just don't know how to make quality games any more and it's really a shame, hopefully with their new game they can surprise us but it doesn't look like it

you are just so wrong here... if we are speaking of just RELEASES from R* since 2007 there are actually 13 games, not 4. this is excluding DLC's and GTA Online / RDR Online releases. 2007 - GTA Vice City Stories (PS2 re-release) 2007 - Manhunt 2 2008 - Bully Scholarship Edition (re-release of Bully 2 on PS3/X360 and PC) 2008 - GTA4 2008 - Midnight Club LA 2009 - GTA Chinatown Wars 2010 - Red Dead Redemption 2011 - L.A. Noire 2012 - Max Payne 3 2013 - GTA5 2017 - L.A. Noire VR 2018 - Red Dead Redemption 2 2021 - GTA Trilogy Defective Edition (Developed by R*, ported by Grove Street games, published by R*) also, unlike R* ubisoft is a huge publisher with a shit ton more employees and many more IP's. of course Ubisoft would have more game releases than R*. this is not a scale to compare quality - take Square Enix for example: they have a shit ton of releases just like Ubisoft BUT unlike Ubisoft their game releases are actually good lol.
@omista1304
@omista1304 Ай бұрын
@@HoLDoN4Sec Thanks for correcting me for my comment (Ubisoft having more employees than R*) I forgot that Ubisoft had studios all over the world working on specific games so it would make sense that they would be able to release more games faster, that's my mistake but yes even with all those employees they still can't make good games, for Assassins creed for example ubisoft has Montreal, Quebec, Sofia, and Bordeaux working on different AC games (mostly Montreal tho) and I feel this is why so many AC games are a hit or miss they should have one specific studio preferably Montreal working on AC games to keep things consistent with the story and gameplay.
@AJ-jq3hm
@AJ-jq3hm Ай бұрын
@@HoLDoN4Sec I should have worded my comment better and mentioned that I was specifically comparing mainline, triple A, high production value games developed and published by Rockstar games. Because I am specifically mentioning about Assassin's Creed getting 13 mainline entries in the same time period, where Gta and Red dead combined got 4(again, mainline entries. I haven't counted gta Chinatown wars for the same reason I didn't count assassin's creed chronicles) Ubisoft's game count otherwise is obviously way higher. The crew, the crew 2, crew motor fest, assassin's creed bloodlines, freedom cry, assassin's creed chronicles, rayman, Prince of persia, Tom clancy games like seige, ghost recon, and division series, games like xdefiant, skull and bones,brawlhalla, riders Republic, and the list goes on, but I was specifically referring to Assassin's Creed. The video was comparing Rockstar's mainline, triple A, high production value cross platform game with Ubisoft's high mainline, Triple A, high production value cross platform game, both of which released in the same year. And hence, as a result, I commented how Rockstar's two main ip's, rdr and gta have had such less number of releases in 17 years compared to Ubisoft's flagship ip's like assassin's creed and far cry, the former of which has had 13 mainline mainline entries in the same time period, which will soon become 14 with ac shadows. You have one company releasing 4 games total for their two flagship ip's, while the other is releasing 3 times that amount for just one of their ip's. Even if you count all those games which you mention, games like LA noire which were not even developed by Rockstar, you'll still have lesser number of games released by Rockstar than Assassin's Creed alone brother. Hence my point about quality over quantity.
@HoLDoN4Sec
@HoLDoN4Sec Ай бұрын
@@omista1304 well you are still wrong on the counting then. GTA4 - developed and published by R* Games Midnight Club LA - Developed and Published by R* Games RDR1 - Developed and Published by R* Games Max Payne 3 - Developed and Published by R* Games GTA5 - Developed and Published by R* Games L.A. Noire - Developed and Published by R* Games L.A. Noire VR - Developed and Published by R* Games RDR2 - Developed and Published by R* Games. GTA Defective Edition - Developed by R*, Ported by Grove Street Games (a studio owned by R*), and Published by R* that's 7 main R* Game's Franchises Brand New Releases and/or 9 Mainline Rockstar Game releases since 2007. R* practically owns every single studio that they publish games for, and for the past decade they have been renaming all of their Studio's into Rockstar *City Studio Located*. currently there are 11 active Rockstar Game's studios across the world - working in complete cooperation on the same games. R* Studios consists of around 2000 employees right now. in contrast, Ubisoft similarly to R* owns all of the studios they publish games for and and also renamed almost all of their studios into Ubisoft *insert city name*. currently there are 51 active Ubisoft Studios across the world with multiple studios working in cooperation on every game. Ubisoft consists of around 19,000 employees (which makes it almost 10 times larger than Rockstar Games) right now. so obviously you would except Ubisoft to be pumping at least 10 times more games than Rockstar in the same time period. sure, this is a comparison between Rockstar's mainline releases and AC game releases from 2007, so lets do the math usually there are around 10-15 different Studio's working on AC games since AC Origins (in the old days up until AC4, there were just 5-6 studio's working on AC games). this is compared to Rockstar which have around 5 Studios working on the same game, and a couple of studio's in charge of their online component. however unlike Rockstar, the budget Ubisoft puts on AC games is minuscule in comparison to Rockstar, the complexity of Ubisoft's AC games is no where near as sophisticated as that in Rockstar games. so obviously over the span of 17 years Ubisoft would be able to pump out 12 games, and Rockstar would be able to pump out 7 games. Rockstar's budget for development and complexity in their games is bigger than Ubisoft, in fact i think that the budget for GTA5 alone was larger than all AC games from AC1 - AC4 Black flag combined (thats 5 different games!), and that was just one single game from Rockstar. so, again you really cant compare both companies. for Ubisoft Assassins Creed is just one of many active IP's they are regularly releasing. for R* they are releasing one single major title every 5-8 YEARS with an enormous budget that Ubisoft Studios could just dream of getting for a single game. GTA5's budget was at around 1 billion dollars US$. it is rumored that the budget of GTA6 is estimated to be at over 2 billion US$, in contrast it was estimated that the budget for AC Mirage was at around 150-200 Million US$, AC Valhalla at around 160-170 Million, AC Origins at around 140-150 Million. you can practically take all AC games ever made and probably never reach the budget of GTA6. it is just insane. so again, there really is absolutely no comparison that can be made between Rockstar games and Ubisoft. its like comparing Apples to Peaches - they are both Fruit, but different

Ubisoft releases games more often than R* it's a common thing they have studios worldwide working on their games so they can release games faster than R* also I wasn't "comparing" the games, I used rdr2 to represent R* and AC Origins to represent Ubisoft I was pointing out the DIFFERENCES between the two studios and what they prioritize, it's a comment thing for Ubisoft characters to be lighter and faster and to be able to run on the spot (AC, Watch Dogs Ghost recon ect.) and its common for R* characters to be slower and have weight to them because most R* games prioritize detail and immersion.

@@omista1304 a balance of quality and quantity matters. Odyssey gameplay, branching narratives and open mission design is far ahead of what rdr2 offered in those departments. Failing while also taking time is just bad. And this is what happened with rdr2 movement, shooting mechanics and mission design. The quality of horse balls is not relevant to gameplay, or impactful in any way, and the writing in rdr2 was average at best (though witcher 3 and bg3 are the only well written video games to date). Rdr2 was similar to what marvel do in the movie business, just a big budget blockbuster which can't compete on any level to games that do each component far better, only exceeding expectation in the beautiful graphically detailed open world.

@@omista1304 It is poorly written because it needs to appeal to the lowest common denominator (everyone) to make back its massive budget, which is similar to ubisoft titles. The writing is like all rockstar titles, juvenile with nothing too sophisticated or risky so as to appease the masses and not exclude children or anyone from understanding its simple themes; Death bad and friends good is just way too simple to be taken seriously from a writing perspective, it is carried by great music and voice acting but ultimately extremely shallow.
