Have you ever tried collaborating with someone who doesn't own the same soft synths / plugins as you? Turn them into Directwave instruments and work freely with each other.
Just make sure to use the original plugin when finishing the track. Most of the time there are some slight problems with the release / reverb / other effects on the Directwave instrument made with this method.
It's great for playing aroud with melodies while still having an idea how the end result will sound.

i make instruments like this. the release is what throws off the sound as you stated in your video. really wish direct wave could be updated to have release points.

You can edit the release time in Direct Wave in the Zone tab.

Am I doing something wrong? Even with "enable insert effects" activated my third party reverb in the effects doesn't get sampled only the dry signal of the vst :(

Just a reminder, if you sample any instrument with directwave, the flp project will be heavier since it save the instrument in the flp, it's not like when you use a vst or a soundfont.

yeah, good point. bouncing to audio is probably better once you have a solid idea that probably won't have to be changed anymore 🙏

ok seriously this is quite helpful like Even my laptop have 16gb of ram But It start to burn like hell after few hours the laptop I brought is trash I wonder what pc or laptop ur using and what specs thanks I’m planning to buy a new one I just hate the one I have lmao even if it works just fine

i have the Asus Rog Strix 16gb ram, i7 processor which is quite good but still won't keep up with really big projects. bouncing to audio always saves me in those situations :)

I never heard of this before :0 By the way, when I copy a midi, no sound comes out. I have to manually enter it for every notes

i've had the same issue, and i think it has something to do with multichannel MIDI information and not using the right channel. Check this pic out: www.image-line.com/support/flstudio_online_manual/html/img_shot/pianoroll_midicolors.png try changing the channel for the MIDI and see what happens

@@Robnmusic i know right, tho I used it when putting little alter boy on a lead (you should try this) and distorted it. Because of little alter boy it lags with the melody but if you make a directwave instrument out of it with effect (there is a toggle for that) you can make it lagless
