It's basically a curated wiki; they do have paid editors who review your change requests and may ask for verification of info but the content is put in by users. If there's something wrong, it's not hard to get fixed (though it may take some time for changes to be reviewed and implemented after submission) You also need to know that credits are edited from the page of content (movie, tv show, etc) and then when you enter a persons name for the credits you then select which person it was if there are multiples with the same name. The credits are then pushed to the actors name page. Show pages edit similar to actor pages but have different tiers of proof required to correct various mistakes.

I was a stand-in for a lead role on a Netflix movie movie and didn't get credited. Granted I was only on the set for two days and was needed for about 15 minutes. I was brought on as a hand double but wasn't used so I can't even be like "that's my hand".
