I guess one could just be relieved that she wasn't brutally killed. that is such a crazy story, and I could totally understand how she would get turned around because I'm the same way I've no sense of direction.

I think it's because, while yes a longer death, it may give one time to think about their life and maybe even pen some final words to any loved ones. Starving definitely isn't the most merciful way to go, but knowing the stories of some of these trail killers, it's a much kinder way to go that being tortured.

I don't know. It would be pretty depressing to know that you only have yourself to blame for getting unnecessarily lost. At least if you're murdered you don't die alone. Lol 😂

I remember hearing this story on an episode of North Woods Law. When the episode ended, she was still missing. I looked into her case, and saw she had passed on the trail. I’m really sad she passed, but knowing she started the trip that lead to her demise in my home state really makes me feel even worse for her. The little notes she wrote to her family and loved ones were so sweet, I hope she rests peacefully.

@@dicksherman284 i agree, this one felt not so respectful to the real woman who went through this ordeal and did not survive. Just the editing was very childish and "reenact-y" for something so serious. Like the photoshop first person view of discovering her body and editing blood onto the note, just seems very callous.

@@thekamotodragonwell yeah.. pixel is making videos RE-telling the story of these missing people, so it's obvious to put every detail of how it went down to explain to viewers what happened. its like any other true crime "podcast" or "documentary" that could show graphic imagery and explain in heavy detail the gore and horrific stuff that went on edit: personally i like to have a bit of cartoonish stuff involved to lighten the mood of these sad events, but i also need something to pay attention to while watching bc i get very easily distracted or bored with anything that doesnt have something interesting going on in the background.

The thing about being in literal woods… the thick of it, so to speak, is that even though you are experienced , being in woods you arent familiar with can be detrimental, because you can lose all sense of direction if you do not leave trail markers stepping off of the main trail. I know, because I grew up SW of the Appalachian trail, and IF you dont keep track of where the sun is during certain parts of the day, becoming disoriented is very easy. Sometimes, even the sun position can be misleading, especially in territory you are either1. Not familiar with at all, or 2. You do not leave markers of some type to keep track of your position. We dont have “ trails” here, but old logging and mining roads. Once off of thise, you can get lost and easily turned around! Sadly, trailing alone, amd stepping off of the main trail to use BR, is not advised in areas where the brush growth and trees are alike! Leave yourself a marker to follow back to the trail, like sticks, stones, or colored marking tape tied to a bush!

I lived near brentwood when this story broke and i remember the sense of grief from a lot of community... it was really sad. Such a sweet lady. :\ At least she died doing something she loved..

Good video but the sound effects are a little offensive. Like the female scream sound effect, the heavy breathing, the fake skull in the sleeping bag. It just seems so out of place when talking about this poor woman respectfully. You're recounting the final moment of someone's passing not editing a video about skateboarding or a school project.
