Creep is easily one of my favorite horror movies. The movie Creep features a man named Josef looking to hire someone to film a day in his life. Aaron answers, however, he would never suspect the consequences that follows.

“He could’ve just brought the police to the park!” Ahaha no. Among the realistic stuff here is the fact that the police are MASSIVELY unhelpful. Speaking as someone who got stalked for about half a year, when I went to the police they were just like “well. Okay. Call us if something happens.” So when something else DID happen (my stalker started threatening another friend of mine in addition to me) I went back to the police and they just found more excuses not to help me. I probably wouldn’t watch the film myself as most horror movies aren’t my thing, but this was fascinating. The fact that the guy gets killed in broad daylight in a public place is definitely the wildest way this could have ended, I think.

@@PixelsAfterDark It’s all right. Everything’s fine now-we eventually got the stalker to leave us alone (there’s always a worry that they’ll come back, but it’s been a long time and no sign of them since). The stuff about the police you showed in the movie just kinda made me laugh bitterly and think “yep, that’s how it goes.” (I hope my original comment didn’t come across as insulting toward you or anything-was just more bitterly thinking about how unhelpful the police can be.)

It was probably scripted in a way that was very vague, to get more honest reactions, making them think about how they would react in the situation based on their role in the movie. A film made from two people that were doing their best to create a found footage film, who in turn made a movie with some good acting.

You are obviously a very young man, but this is one of the best expressed and most nuanced analyses I have seen of Creep - one of my favorite horror films - by anyone. Subscribed. The one and only bit of obvious malarkey that somewhat took me out of this film was the idea that Joseph found that incredible Peach Fuzz mask at a 99 cent store, lol. That should’ve been a “bullshit” flag for Aaron right there.

As someone who's done films similar to this I would gotten more information upfront for tax reasons and would have left at the end of the first day. Aaron seems old enough and with enough profession experience to make a similar choice. The fact he gave in to Josef's pressure to stay makes the character seem weak willed, which I think is the point Josef makes at the end, from his perspective he gives his victims lots of warning.
@feliciaroseantonia
@feliciaroseantonia Жыл бұрын
It's interesting considering the acting, but the whole ending makes no sense when you consider that this killing happened in broad daylight with the sound of people clearly nearby to witness it somehow, be it through sight or hearing, and yet... nothing happens. Nobody does anything and the killer just... gets away. And is implied to have hurt or potentially killed perhaps countless other people this way. I know the police are unhelpful, but when it comes to serial killers in this day and age, I mean...? Come on, broad daylight? No, I don't buy it. There's no WAY the police wouldn't pick up on that. And if they were just letting it slide, people would have figured that out by then, and surely there would've been some sort of societal uprising of sorts. Honestly it would make a whole ton of more sense if the ending was actually just Aaron's fear of what would have happened if he just sat there staring off into the horizon like he's actually depicted as doing in the scene.
@viedralavinova8266
@viedralavinova8266 Жыл бұрын
For one, police aren't that helpful. Even if you had all the evidence you needed, they would still refuse to help. This is why you hire private investigators, bodyguards, or hell even call the firefighters/ EMT. Two, a lot of major crimes/ felonies do happen in places and times you would never expect them. (For example, houses being robbed are most common during the day now; while the owners are at work.) As sad as it sounds, this is exactly the stuff you see documented about major serial killers.

Not gonna lie, I lowkey regret watching this one sitting here alone in the dark at 4am. Never seen the movie before but man you hit all the high points and just by a random stroke of unfortunate coincidence that wolf mask is the exact same one my dad got one Halloween when I was about 5 or 6 that absolutely terrified me as a child. He only wore it around me one time and even though he was talking to me and trying to calm me down and being a loving dad that mask freaked me the fuck out for whatever reason, to the point that he threw it away because I was just full on traumatized by it. I think it stems from getting attacked by a chow when I was like 2 years old, but jesus seeing that mask again has me massively, I mean massively struggling to engage logical real world brain and not go into a full blown panic attack.

The only thing I didn't like was in the end scene, if u pay attention to the shadows, there's NO WAY Aaron didn't see him not only come up behind him, buy see the silhouette of a man RAISING A FREAKING AXE behind u. It would of been better to left it a question of did Aaron know joeseph was there or not open ended. With the shadows it really did seem, well as joeseph said, dumb to not look behind himself. Especially if he was nervous enough to be recording and have his phone on speed dial... other than that, one of my fave Netflix movies.

that ending wtf XD. I usually tend to prefer "Found Footage" movies or movies that have more of a realistic tone as opposed to over the top gorefest films about torture porn...no thanks. I like subtle horror without all the extreme violence, movies like "Blair Witch Project". That film still freaks me out to this day, it's just done so well. Sure, movies like "Saw" (first one to come to mind - and the film that caused me to stop watching mainstream horror movies) scared the sh** outta me but in a traumatizing, unpleasant and unhealthy sort of way. People who get off on this sort of horror I think have mental issues, really. Desensitizing yourself isn't a good thing and craving more of that sort of violence is...just demented.

If you love found footage movies, I recommend Noroi: The Curse (it's in Japanese dub tho but thankfully there's a full movie here on youtube with an english sub on it). I watched it years ago and it still hunts me whenever I searched the whole movie here on yt (I want to watch it but it was frickin to disturbing to watch at your next rewatch for me). It has supernatural elements but it has the usual japanese horror element on it.

This movie isn’t one of my favorites (mostly because when k tried to watch it my family kept shouting about how stupid it was the whole time, so I associate it with a shitty viewing experience) but all in all it’s a pretty good movie. It does things a lot of found footage doesn’t, the acting is fairly realistic, and it’s genuinely unsettling at times. I want to watch it again without my family for one, but also with the comedy aspect in mind. If feel like if you don’t take it as seriously as we did on our first viewing it would be a much more enjoyable experience.
