But adults can go through worse trauma as a result because they understand the wider implications and they have fewer supports. Older adults feel just the same way about children being hurt as they do about adults who are their children’s ages. The only thing I’d say would be worse for a child is if it’s their first sexual experience, which can happen at any age.
