Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

If there's anything left of the Great,Great,Great grandparents place it'd be really cool to see it. In the days of everyone moving all the time and families being spread out over the country and the world it's really nice you're working the same fields they did. I'd give a lot to have that in my life.

@@MillennialFarmer It's the cycle of life - at least my great-grandparents' house from the late 1800s still stands, but it has a shake roof in a wet climate and my aunt who owns it now is going to let it rot into the ground, so I take pictures of it every time there aren't tenants living there just to document it. The barn and most of the outbuildings are already gone.

A tip for twine, weeds and tall grass wrapping. Get a Stanley utility knife and get the carpet blades for it. They have a hook with the sharp edge on the inside of the hook. I grind down the sharp point a touch so not to dig into seals. Then go to town on it and slash and pull. It cuts through AND pulls the stuff loose. Works on tillage, mowers, cultivators, etc.
@rbnhd1976
@rbnhd1976 2 жыл бұрын
To a floor guy, carpet blades are entirely different, thin and scary sharp ones, the ones you mention are hook blades, and after your comment I'll keep a knife with hook blades, for weed eater though, I don't have a farm 😫😫🎻

Like you I am a millennial... except I grew up cutting wood, splitting wood and stacking wood! Great to see all of the family taking part in the operation. Need that to make it all work. Thanks to Jim also. Great group of people. Another guage wheel for the planter. Must be three or four you have replaced. I assume it is the rocks that bend them. The bearings on the field digger will need checked on I bet. From what you showed us lots of twine catch up in the bearings on the wheels. Another farming job to do. Thanks for the video today. Had lots of variety. Saw everyone also. Neat.
