Russel T Davies did a magnificent job reviving Doctor Who

I'm marginally happy and slightly appalled that David Tenant is coming back. I'm devastated that we won't have Wilf Mott anymore.

To me, Ten's feelings towards his impending death are the only sour note to his version of the Doctor. While he's not the first Doctor to oppose his death and feel fear towards it, even looking to forestall it as long as he could, he was the only one who desperately clung on to his own life as long as he could till his last few remaining seconds. Every other Doctor (save for the second), when faced with their regeneration about to occur, accepted it to some degree. They came to terms with what they had done and all they had accomplished and bid a farewell to their companions before departing, accepting that this was about to happen and holding out hope that it was for the best. Not so with Ten. He was fearful and desperate to live till his 'dying' breath, crying out 'I don't wanna go' before the regeneration process overtook him. I understand that every Doctor faces their death differently, but I can't help but feel like Ten in particular lacked that quality of grace and acceptance that all the other Doctors had when their death was impending. Save the Second Doctor, who was also fearful and resistant, but he had good reason to be. His regeneration was forced on him, after all. Looking forward to what Tennant can do with the role now that he's back in it, although I have to admit I'm not really a fan of their decision to go back to him as the new Doctor. I loved Ten and I really like David Tennant as an actor, but he had his time. Now is the time for other actors to shine in the part and show what they can do with it, for better or worse. Still, what's done is done and all we can do is watch and see what happens next. At the very least, it'll be good to see Wilfred Mott one last time, as a fond farewell to a much beloved companion.
