I like that you added fake film grain. I mean sure its not genuine to how it was originally but i always like fake film grain as a good way to hide the imperfections of AI/Custom upscaling.

I see what you did there with AI upscaling and a touch of grain. It really works with the tomb scene. Not so sure about the other studio but I’d like to compare it to the photo gallery to see what the dynamic range was like on the 16mm/35mm film prints. My take on this footage would be to use BBC WP 283 LUTs to transform this 1970s CRT camera footage into HDR HLG. I’ve done a bit on my channel with Caves of Androzani.

I tell you, this thing here @0:47 may be from the 70’s and made of papier mache and glue but dag gone its nightmare fuel in high octane and 10,000 x scarier than the CGI dog thing in the New Series! This…biological part of Sutekh is uncanny valley as it sort of looks like a jackal maybe? But then again not of this earth…so alien, but what kind of freaky deaky alien? I tell ya this thing scared me as a kid, it still scares me, and Ancient Aliens suggesting it could actually be somewhat true doesn’t help! :-) Oh and the way it looked in the TARDIS when Sarah first sees it is even freakier! I was so glad when I was made aware of “The Hand of Sutekh” (check the upper edge of the seat cushion just as Sutekh finally stands @0:33, LOL!) as it brought some much needed levity to a truly gripping scene. Seriously tho, what the classic series could do with a voice and a dude in a freaky helmet is a myriad above what expensive CGI can even hope to sort of grab a portion of In today’s over produced flashy landscape. Note to RTD: Disney money may be nice, but the pretty look is nothing if the story isnt the foundation. And not just a first draft with money on top, we need a fully developed, multiple revision solid tale that make sense, has logic and reason and can scare the bejesus out of people. Make THAT look pretty and real and then you got some gripping, amazing stuff!😊

Seriously: if he ran away from a music-munching drag queen, there's NO FRIGGIN' WAY he's going to stand up to an Osiran who had already bent his mind into submission once already ... and who would now be clearly holding a grudge.
