Ironically, you rarely see the Doctor in any kind of fisticuffs, except for 3's occasional karate shenanigans, and perhaps a rare struggle once in a while. 7 has incapacitated people by poking or grabbing their face, 4 has punched people and broken necks, 12 punched a racist, 6 has struggled with people who fell into an acid bath, etc, but when you think about it, you can probably count those 'fights' on two hands. The universe would be in tremendous danger if the Doctor decided to embrace true violence.

@@Squicx I was having a bit of fun with that remark, but personally I don't think series 1-7 (the golden age of New Who) fits in with the classic era well. It's better as an alternate universe. Both connected via a multiverse, but both different. Things like the SImm Master and his drums don't mesh with the Master from Classic Who for instance. Series 11 and 12 are so bad however they can't even be in the same multiverse. Such a shame. PS Jodie is a good singer. Check out her cover of yellow, but she sadly is an awful Doctor.

It's fine to have a head canon of whatever as it's only theoretical and McCoy's era inspired a lot of nu who so there are similarities. However I had this debate with this one guy who tried to claim McCoy's era *was* nu-who and I had to explain classic who merely refers to the time in which it was made 1963-1989. I prefer Classic who personally (my era) and certainly prefer it to what Chibnall is doing right now.

@@mrjekyllandhyde9941 Oh hell yeah, I prefer classic who a million times more than nuwho, I grew up on everything from Troughton (my favourite story of all time being The Invasion), Baker(s) to McCoy. I just find it interesting to perhaps draw parallels between Classic and Modern. I think there is a problem with the fandom as of more recent years, whereas people take too much to heart, like you say people argue something is/was a certain thing, for example "McCoy's era was NuWho" isn't a fact, its an opinion... yet people argue as if it is fact. In my opinion I'm not 100% keen on all of Chibnall's run so far, but that doesn't make it a fact that the whole era is bad, as quite a few people make it out to be. I wish people could take head canon and opinions as what they are, rather than arguing as if they are facts. Unnecessary rant over XD

@@bluesnooddude1663 Tom Baker has got to be no.1 for me second Peter Davison then Colin Baker then Sylvester McCoy and then Patrick Triughton (oh crumbs) Classic who is pretty much all I watch these days occassionally Matt Smith (my top new who doc) although as well as most of 1st-7th episodes I own all of 9th-12th Doctors on dvd. Personally I think things that Chris Chibnall's run has done I find so offensive it blocks any future respect for him I may gain. I mean okay I was against a female doc but that's a personal preference and if others are okay with it I can live with that. Then "The Timeless Children" came and chnaged the narrative of classic who implying Hartnell wasn't the 1st and the Doctor isn't even a Timelord. I gave up watching a while a go and I'm sure there's been good and bad under his run but for me the bad blocks any good he may have done. Maybe that's me taking things to seriously but this is a show I've been in invested in since the 1980's spent a lot of money building up my collection so yeah I find that quite offensive. So apart from the fact I think classic Who is a superior era that's why I pretty much only watch classic. Unnecessary rant over Lol

@@mrjekyllandhyde9941 Yeh I agree with you on Tom Baker being number 1, he is THE Doctor in my opinion, and the same for many, many others . Then I think Pertwee and Troughton are my second favourites, due to how much of them I've watched. My second favourite episode is probably Destiny of the Daleks, and I know that's not necessarily a popular choice, but I've always enjoyed "skirmish" stories, rather than the ultimate final battle of the season, which modern who is very good at it seems. I do rely on Big Finish classics for entertainment as of late for some fun.

@@bluesnooddude1663 Although not necessarily favorite episodes some unpopular episodes I come back to include Twin Dilemma Time Lash Time Flight don't know if trial is unpopular but that gets a lot of play too as well as a lot of the obvious more popular stories. My top 2 stories are probably 1.Caves of Andrazani and 2. Robots of death Destiny of the Daleks is a pretty good story too I own the Eaglemoss figurine of one of the Daleks with the yellow and red bombs strapped to it which is pretty cool. I've also been building up my Big Finish collection, I'm glad Big Finish has boosted the popularity of the 6th Doctor but at the moment my favorite Doctor on Big Finish is Peter Davison and love that Nyssa has been given bigger roles than she did in the TV show.

In fact, her original creator/writer always vied to have her in straight relationships, hence she falls for Mike, Soren, etc - and in all external media following the cancellation, she is straight. When he was not involved, she gets a 'girlfriend of the week' to facilitate bi-vibes. JNT himself was gay, but he avoided making it prominent because it was still a sensitive subject at the time (eg. not putting Millington + Judson's relationship in the televised version of Curse of Fenric).

In his Big Finnish stories, it's totally the opposite. There's no much place for fun, he's manipulating others most of the time and the stories themselves have a really dark tone.

If you watch literally any documentary about McCoy's era -- especially regarding BBC's backstage politics and how desperately they wanted to kill off their own show - you'll realize how wrong you are about all actors involved. McCoy, Sophie (and Andrew Cartmel) set the template for the revival, and it's thanks to them that the show stepped above and beyond the complete lack of care that BBC had for their own product.
