Eternal punishment can just as easily be interpreted as destroyed forever. If you are consumed with fire and burnt to ashes, and you will never return from it, is that not an eternal punishment?

It's disobedience to God, not eating fruit, as Dr. Reid points out - rebellion against our gracious Creator and Provider.

Great discussion, around 32/33:00 the question was asked would it be correct to say that it was white European or German position that was responsible for the mythologizing the concept of Hell, and that in other Christian circles presumably Africa and the “mid-east” this was not the case? And the brother answered in the affirmative. I would be interested to know if he feels that “hell” and “Heaven” where literal places outside of Europe in particular Africa and the “mid-east” outside of later (Islam)?

Yes! Rebellion to God's Word is Serious. Original sin is not just eating fruit from a tree. It was eating fruit from a tree that was prohibited by God. Because there were other trees in the Garden of Eden that had no prohibition or laws not to eat. It was only the tree in the middle of the Garden. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil!

I have gone through the stage of thinking that there can be no hell when you consider who God really is ..... although we only think we know God but there is so much more to know, I have discovered. God is constant and so is Gods love for ALL of humanity. Now I have come round to the fact of hell but it’s not in the same way the church preaches. You, I have also come to see the nature of Gods love of humanity within the depths of hell. This, I know so far today (there will always be higher truths to any one thing in life) does not contain a literal fire where people burn eternally. What would be the point in that from a loving God’s perspective? This would suggest that is is like a devil. God does not send anyone to hell, we provide our own place there according to how we live in this life....in the same manner, God does not send any one to heaven....again it depends on how lovingly we have lived this life. Both heaven and hell are not a single place, They contain levels or dimensions, the higher souls go in heaven means their soul condition is extremely high in love. Conversely, the lower one resides in the hells, is determined by their lack of love in their soul condition. Remember, we are not bodies as our physicality dictates. In our true selves we are souls created by God. We come from heaven to join our bodies at conception. God does not separate returned souls into heaven and hell bound.and God never leaves us. ( Matthew 28:20 - “and surely I will be with you always to the very end of the age”.) It is us who will accept our natural homes when we view the shades of lightness/darkness and in between the two polarities within our spirit bodies (souls use the spiritual body to operate when we return). We naturally gravitate towards a place in heaven or hell that looks like us at the time. So it all depends... as there are degrees to hell and it all depends the degrees to which we have sinned to where we go...same for heaven. There is the depths of hell where truly wicked people go which is different from where people who are not so bad sennets go. Yet, the hell contains no fire like we think though the lower one goes the worse the condition is. This is meant to show us to ourselves. We are meant to learn form our condition but as in all things, one has to apply their own free will. There is nothing eternal about hell. We can stay there as long as we will or as in as little time as we will. Free will always prevail. Lastly , God does not abandon any of His children, even in the depths of hell. God is always there....waiting on us to begin the process of repentance; learn something about LOVE and prepared to act upon it. Your place in hell or heaven is where we send ourselves....this is the separation process. God unites; humanity separate.

To say the original sin was "eating fruit" is to grossly minimize the enormity of that act. The original sin was a transgression against God because man wanted to be like God, just like Lucifer did in heaven.
@KayAlexandria283
@KayAlexandria283 9 ай бұрын
This was great, but I also want to point out that I disagree with the answer of us not understanding the enormity of our sin as to whether or not hell is unjust or not(not that sin is not enormous, but moreso), because we are justified by faith, not our works, so people go to hell not because of their sin, but because they refuse to put their faith in Jesus Christ. That is why the person who told a white lie can go to hell just like Hitler. That is how someone who has gone to church all their lives and do everything they can to try and live a perfect sinless life still wind up in hell, because they put their faith in their works, not Christ, and to God, all our righteousness is like filthy rags, we must put our faith in Christ to be saved from hell. The explanation that was given in the video implies a works based salvation and that is not theologically sound. The degrees of punishment or reward we experience in eternity determine is determined by our works-at least how I understand it.

How does the punsishment Christ took for us on the cross (dead from friday to sunday) take the place of an everlasting torment of a wicked person? Does that not seem lopsided?
@CaldwellApologetics
@CaldwellApologetics 5 жыл бұрын
bwevemuzk It is lopsided if you don’t have a sound and biblical Christology. If Christ was merely a man or good moral teacher, then there might be an argument. The book of Hebrews provides a great polemic for the sufficiency of the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

The word "Hell" is not Biblical, nor is "everlasting." Christ's work on the cross fulfills the law in that the wages of sin is death - not everlasting torment - Jesus died to pay that price and then rose again so that we may live because the will of God is that no man shall perish. It is finished.

If we understood all things through a pillared image. If it was possible for us to reduce all things to "male and female," "light and darkness," "spirit and manifestation," as we find metaphysically represented in the pillared images of Jachin (light-priestly) and Boaz (darkness-practice of our beliefs-culture-History) (1Kings 7:21). Then we'd have the tools necessary to understand what's taking place in and from the beginning. Since where, in the Beginning, God created "the Heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). We are better to reckon why God nor Jesus has any reason to send any person to hell. By this pillared image of "the Heaven-and-the earth," you have the means to account for every living thing that enters the earth. As well as does this pillared image of "the Heaven-&-the earth" serve as the basis upon which the Divine accounts for how that "living thing," as it pertains to its soul, changed throughout its time in the earth. How then do we understand or reckon ourselves with the substance of these individual pillars that we reckon and appreciate the whole? That we see and reckon ourselves with the workings of this pillared image. We are to understand the pillared image of "the Heaven" as being imbued with all things as they pertain to "light," or intelligence. Wherein, in accord with the pillared image of Jachin, the priestly pillar. We reckon "the Heaven" as bearing witness as the pillar of light-male-soul. While, as to the pillared image of "the earth," which takes on the nature of Boaz. As a complement to "the Heaven (light-man-soul), "the earth" is darkness-female-manifestation, as it testifies to how the soul appears in the earth. By these relationships and characteristics, we are better to see that as "the Heaven-and-the earth" the Divine has the means to capture the essence of every living thing that enters the earth. That it takes measure of how that living thing changes, as to its soul, upon its return from out of the earth. How do these relationships take on relevance? It lies in what Jesus says in the 12th chapter of John which helps us to understand why it is that Jesus never found any reason to ally himself with force, violence, and war. In John 12:48 Jesus says: "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day" (John 12:48). However, we lack the spiritual and religious wherewithal to resolve what Jesus says in John 12:48 finds its way either to the beginning or how it's intrinsic to the Life that's to come. We do so because we do not understand the relationship between the spirit, our beliefs, teachings, and commandments, and the soul. For us, faith is a performative art, in that we reduce our fidelity to our God as a matter of rite and ritual, not substantively in how we live. Though Jesus did not rely on force and violence to establish his church. This church binds itself to fear, force, and violence to establish itself. We have assurance in this given we live in a country that seeks to affirm itself as a "Christian Nation." And yet loves and cherishes its guns above its children. We place more confidence in our ability to persuade by force, violence, and pain than we are by teaching. But when we seek to understand how, what Jesus says in John 12:48 applies to the Life to come, as well as what we find from the beginning. We are best to do so under our teacher's or professor's admonition to "write this down because you are going to see this again." The reason Jesus had no cause to distress over being rejected and slandered by those who unceasingly presented themselves as his adversary? It is because Jesus, as he dwelt in the earth, was synonymous with Truth. Wherein, as LORD, we are to reckon this same synonymity as TRUTH. So the reason why Jesus, nor any LORD that came before (this is not our understanding, no time to explain), or the ETERNAL FATHER has any reason to send any man or woman to hell, is because it is the Word (John 12:48) that will either serve as our sanctification or condemnation. Just as there stood a conflict between the Word of the LORD God's and Adam's while in Eden, wherein we bear witness to what served as the predicate to Adam's fall. What placed Adam on the threshold of trespassing and thus falling in the Presence and Sight of the LORD God, is not reduced to Adam's eating of what the LORD God commanded the man not to eat (Genesis 2:16-17). Rather, what places Adam on the threshold of trespassing against the LORD God, wherein we find Adam's face already set against the LORD God, is by what we find established in Woman's (Genesis 2:23) mouth. Wherein, to reveal unto the Serpent the spirit that served to strengthen her Lord, in that it is Adam, not the LORD God who trains up Woman as to how man is to go to and fro throughout the whole of Eden. In her response to the Serpent, she reveals that, as it pertains to all the trees in Eden. Her Lord in Adam trained her up in the commandment that: "And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die" (Gen 3:2-3). It is that embellishment, which Adam forges in God's mouth, where, with respect to the forbidden fruit, Adam commands that "God hath said...neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die" (Gen 3:2-3), that serves as the moment of Adam standing with his face set against the LORD God. That is, having girded himself in this "word" (Genesis 3:2-3) which was in conflict with "the Word" (Genesis 2:16-17; 1John 5:7), we are better to reckon how Adam rejects the Son (the LORD God) that he emerges in the Garden as Lord that he assumes the presence of the Son (the Word). And thereby we are better to understand how, when it comes to God, Adam establishes another god before God, in that Adam's God is the knowledge of the forbidden fruit. And yet when it comes to what remains of the Trinity (1John 5:7) as the Holy Ghost, we are to understand His ubiquitous Presence as accounting for all that Adam commits to the earth. As it is by what Adam commits to the earth, as word and deed, that we reckon the constitutional changes of his soul. Thus, when we reckon all things through the prism or eye (Matthew 6:22-23) of a pillared image, are we better to see the whole when it comes to the truths and revelations in what the Bible actually teaches. So, as it pertains to what Jesus impresses on us in John 12:48, as it pertains to the "Word" we best learn how to establish the same in our heart and marrow in this life because we shall bear witness to the same again. But the next time, it will be face to face.

As for judgement day.... I have been asking God about this since I was 10 and sooooo scared by what I was told. Now, I realise that it is us who want a judgement and it is us who will feel disappointed in there not being a judgement day.... not necessarily God’s perspective. We need to know more about God’s universal laws which God created before He created the universe. These laws (thousands of them) are there to govern the souls of all of humanity. Our true selves are SOULS created in heaven by God. We all came from heaven: “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.....”Jeremiah 1:5. Our bodies are created through the sex act of our earthly parents in a co-creations arrangement between God and humanity. When we die (of course there is no death as we see it) we, who we really are- the soul- returns to heaven BUT, after arriving at the first dimension (reception) we take our rightful place.....a dimension of the heavens or a dimension of the hell. The universal law of repentance and the law of compensation will tell you more about judgement but from what I have learnt there is no final judgement.

How can ignorant oppressive people be leaders of gods plan? What is a god, and where did the word/concept originate?Jesus was trained in africa according to the story. Europeans believed in Valhalla. Hell is a African construct. But not for the reason stated or presumed. I would explain, but i dont have a high divinity degree, so i doubt it would be relevant. Give thanks.

God does not see things the way we do in a wider perspective. God’s thoughts and ways are a zillion times higher than humanity’s. so a lot of what we espouse only has 20% truths, overplayed by errors. One must seek for oneself.

Jesus rose to this level of consciousness/Divinity, so he was Christen. Now he is the way to God ....i.e, Jesus’ teachings is the way to truth and life with God. To date Jesus is still the only one who has been christen.
