I was born in Darlington and lived there until I was 11. I've never heard these stories before but you've made me realise that I haven't visited this museum in around 20 years. I think I'll have to pay it a visit soon and have a nice stroll down memory lane.

My home town also my local Railway Station, I sometimes venture up to the platform at North Road during the night when a train comes out of the Newton Aycliffe Hitachi Factory further up the line, on one occasion I do remember hearing footsteps on the old disused platform that was behind me, I had a look through the barred fence to see no one there. Always weary now when I venture up there alone after the last passenger train has gone. I used to also volunteer at the museum until December 2022 when it was closed for refurbishment with the scheduled reopening of spring 2024.

I visited north road a few weeks ago for a model railway show (I live less than 45 mins away and my dad was born and raised in Darlo) but not once have I ever heard of these stories

That second story sounds like the inspiration for the Thomas fanfic 'A Spirited Journey'. I'd highly recommend you check out the fan animations of it by either 'thebogieboy' or 'TheGermanofSodor'. It's a fantastic ghost story.

I think the Darlington Museum was a bit underwhelming. Only for true Train Enthusiasts okay, but sadly boring for others.

You know there's a Thomas & Friends story based off of the ghost in the coach and in the story Edwards says that the girl was shot by a suspicious man

If you are attacked by a man and his dog you don't run after them. Nobody does that. You get out of there and get help. No sane person goes after a hamn who's dog has just attacked you. Nobody.

2:30 She might be wise to hide in a carriage away from the guard ghost and his dog, but why a third-class carriage? Are there more comfortable and luxurious carriages in there for her to hang out in?

@@johndavies1090 I wouldn't expect ghosts to worry so much about that, she could go hang out in the first-class carriage instead. But I guess the rules that apply to ghosts can be a bit strange. Or perhaps she was working-class in life and was used to third-class carriages, and that level of luxury in general - she stays with what she's most comfortable with, I've found myself that I don't feel comfortable in high-luxury and prefer what I'm used to. Or maybe she died in that carriage back when it was in service, so it's her place to haunt.
