Yes! Carly’s version has some of NYC’s top studio musicians: Richard Tee on keys, Eric Gale on guitar, Steve Gadd on drums, Cornell Dupree on guitar and Gordon Edwards on bass - collectively know as the band “Stuff” - plus David Sanborn on sax and James Taylor on backing vocals!

I wish more people reacted to Michael's version of You Belong to Me. It's an incredible record. He wrote the music to Carly Simon's lyrics and although Carly had a hit with it, his version is so much more powerful. It's one of his best.

Yes! Whether it is Michael MacDonald or Carly Simon singing this song, I get the chills; it’s that good ❤. “You don’t have to prove to me you’re beautiful to strangers”; what a great line. Timeless. Love how you both felt this one! I’m sounding old, but here’s an example of why I don’t listen to new music much; hard to top this era/genre.

This one should give you two something to tap you're toes too. "John Popper (Blues Traveler) No Woman, No Cry Live Harmonica Complete" John Popper and Ziggy Marley performed this Bob Marley tune together, which was originally written by his father Bob Marley & The Wailers in 1974. John Popper is an American Musician and songwriter, known as the co-founder, lead vocalist and frontman of the rock band "Blues Traveler." He is also an amazing harmonica player. "Blues Traveler" was formed in Princeton, New Jersey in the mid 1980's. Popper was a teenager when he formed Blues Traveler in his parent's garage. I look forward to hearing what ya'll think about this performance. 🤔🎶 You can never go wrong listening to the Doob's. I'm a huge fan of this band, and Michael McDonald. I really enjoyed, this one fellas, Thanks for sharing👍

@@jml-rj5re's an album with many many great moments but its not flawless. It ends a lot weaker than it starts and it's clear that only Johnston brought the rock element to the project. When he took his songs with him, they didn't have a rock track. Minute by Minute at least has "Don't Stop to Watch the Wheels."

"covered" is ...not, exactly, accurate. She is the primary composer, with assistance from Michael McDonald (co-writers would be the most accurate description, really.) and Carly Simon's version came out FIRST. ...additionally: Carly Simon's version was a hit (whereas THIS version -arguably: due to the existing, prior, success of Simon's release 🤷🤷- came-and-went like a fizzy tablet. ...nearly unnoticed (save, by: hard-core Michael McDonald devotées). 🤷

@@elizabethlozano9358 Not to denigrate Mr. McDonald, at all ...but: this song sounds better with a female in the position of primary vocalist. 👍🤘🤘 I have, always, preferred Carly's version (as, I suppose, have "most people" -if you were to do some kind of "data analysis."😛🤷). ...Mike, also, sings backgrounds (which he did for YEARS! and continued to!) on Carly Simon's version. 👍😛
