Imagine how bad it was being a manga reader there was a literal 3-year gap before we saw Arthur again and I'm actually a big fan of Arthur's character and I was talking about this with another person I know we were in like a group chat thing and we were talking about how we liked Arthur but it was so weird that he showed up got stabbed with Excalibur by being mind-controlled and then we didn't see him till the chaos are sucked and it felt so random and now it just feels like the only reason he added the chaos on to the manga and then the anime is because he wanted to set up the sequel he got and that's it 😅 Because like you said it really does feel like he went breathe desire of relief went to bed and went oh shit Arthur

Ban fighting the Demon King in the real world, while Meliodas fights him in his head, would have been a great final fight for the series. It would have left loose ends (Arthur/the cat thing, Supreme Goddess, Escanor×Merlin) but like... Only because those things were written there in the first place.

The Seven Deadly Sins mobile game is actually pretty fun and is one of the only things I still enjoy from this series. The combat is quite fun and there’s a lot of strategy you can use. Biggest thing I like, while they take more resources to strengthen and aren’t going to be as strong when maxed as rare characters, the more common ones are still very usable. My favorite example for this is Marmas whose massive defense weakening abilities are great for many teams to generally increase total damage of your attackers. Plus there are some exclusive characters there I love, namely the Seven Catastrophies like Valenti, Shin, and best girl Roxy.

One of the main reasons I dropped 7DS was because they started adding “power Levels” and the series just went on a decline for me after that, I don’t have anything against the Loli themes, honestly Ban and Elaine’s relationship and story arc was one of favourites of the story

I'm glad they explained Meliodas and Elizabeth, and how Elizabeth is a reincarnation of Meliodas's first love, thousands of times over. Cursed to thousands of Elizabeth's die over and over finding them over and over. Also the detail that Meliodas never really pays attention to any other girl but always Elizabeth first. Also the aesthetic and art style was actually really good, the old cartoon medieval style was very new to anime.

The story was good until the end. Well, almost, since imo the Chaos thing with Arthur wasn't handled that well even if it was foreshadowed since the beginning. The manga also remained popular until the end, and the sequel is doing ok too. The downfall was exclusive to the anime, and it was because of the animation disaster.

this is where i think something should be said about how just because something is popular or sells well, doesnt make it good. Ill stick on to that, i actually do like 7deadly a lot. my biggest complaint was that we start off the story basically in the middle of everything but starting it anywhere else kinda doesnt work for story telling, it atleast does show dont tell pretty well i think... for certain characters at least when its not a joke

If the show's animation had remained good until the end, a large chunk of the people bitching about the story wouldn't be doing it today.

But yeah, I still like 7DS a lot, especially characters like Ban, King, Escanor, and our Lor D. Twiggo, among some others and the manga, was still really good past where the anime completely stop existing 🤣 to me and now we got 4 knights of the apocalypse but no clue if it's any good or not. Anyway, I'm still a fan, but it's definitely a laughing stock of an anime series.

To be honest I don’t have any problem with the Meliodas and Elizabeth relationship because he waits until she’s an adult to do anything, and since she does regain her memories of all her previous lives she has also essentially lived for over 3000 years like Meliodas. Elaine looking like a child however I do not and have never liked, that’s just weird. King was also a kid when he met Diane so it’s more like a kid and an older kid, Diane was at least like 50 when she met King, and King was like in his one hundreds, so I don’t really want think about how the aging works. Merlin was my least favorite part of the series, I liked Merlin but the ending ruined her for me.

I enjoyed most of 7 Deadly Sins, but I haven't seen any of season 3 yet and had no idea it fell off like this with the animation quality. Also, I took the season 2 power level thing as satire. Was it not supposed to be?

7ds was actually one of the first animes I REALLY got into. I actually remember when season 3 (season 4 on Netflix) was being released in Japan episodically and I would watch shit subs on KZfaq. I honestly rewatch it often when I need something in the background or can’t fall asleep. But I’ve never actually finished the show…

the Characters where good, * Meliodas is The Sin of Wrath, feels shame for that one City he nuked off the map and the person he lost * Diana is the Sin of Envy, so while underused, her initial nothing burger of a character, sorta fits... they just needed to actually... make her become something * Ban, Sin of Greed, took whatever he wanted, he planed to take the fountain of youth. but once he had it, and it cost something else. making him realise that somethings are worth more then others * King, Sin of Sloth, was an awful King, he was so unfocused and negligent that a few of the story events could have been prevented if he was just... there * Gowther Sin of Lust, is odd at first. until you realise that Lust isn't just Segs. As a Doll he wants Passion but can't feel it * Merlin, Sin of Gluttony. Wanted more and more power, but at some point realized, that once obtained. there was nothing left. she had no reason to use it, wanting something is only good until you have it. once you have it. you don't want it anymore * Escanor, Sin of Pride. needs no explaination, the only issue by the end of Se 3 character wise is that. Gowther and Diana kinda got Screwed by having no conclusion as for the 4th se and on with the 4 horsemen... ugh such wasted protentional

Just a thought as to why Escanor is still dead. Pride comes before the fall, so not that he can't come back, but that Escanor won't come back, because what would be a bigger hit to his pride then admitting defeat. But just a thought

I stopped reading the manga weekly after arthur was revived and the god of Chaos was brought into the story. I legit said “Wtf is this!? First Escanor dies then this! Ok, I’m dropping this shit forever.” Never picked it up again Edit: Plus I hate Merlin

That was foreshadowed since the beginning though. The narrator always started with "This is a story from before the human world and the non-human world were forever divided". So it was always going there. Its also loosely based on Arthurian legend, so there was no way in hell Arthur was going to end like that.

Have you seen the sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse? It's way better than the final arc of the OG in both the manga and anime And it got budget, animated by Telecom Animation Film, and it looks insanely way better animated than Season 3 and 4 when Studio Deen who can't do the source material right while A-1 Pictures was there in Season 1 and 2 and never came back Four Knights of the Apocalypse has budget No lagging framerates No animation error No stiffness No nothing PEAK BUDGET ANIMATION Way better than Grudge of Edinburgh since it's CG And yes there's a flaw in Four Knights of the Apocalypse when Jericho has been done dirty, but let's forget about it, it's the story that's important than anything else And also, Meliodas vs Arthur coming up, look forward to that

i remember rewatching season 1 like 4 times (keep in mind i dont like to rewatch stuff so thats actually a lot), when season2 and above didnt even exist, what they did to the anime should be a crime... even escanor couldnt save it from sin

My one gripe, the one thing that could have saved Bam left him at the top with Escanor instead of at the top of the pile of the rest of the cast looking up as Escanor. When King unlocks his true powers he gets wings and becomes an adult. When Elaine unlocks her true powers she gets wings and her boobs get bigger, past that she stays in a childlike body. All they needed to do was have Elaine's power-up function like King's and the singular issue with Bam and Elaine's relationship vanishes for everybody.

I actually liked Ban's story and found his relationship with Elaine sweet in a tragic way. I mean the only problem if I remember right was she was really petite, but I kind of think it only gets problematic if you think too hard about it. Like she's a fairy (I think it was fairy right?) so it sort of makes sense I guess, and sometimes I feel like people forget petite women exist irl, though they did take it to a weird degree. Idk, I just appreciate the tragic romance in the show and he was easily the best character aside from Escanor. I wanted to like Meliodas and Elizabeth's relationship, I tried, the curse dynamic was interesting and tragic, but they made it pretty damn hard with the constant groping and the kinda weird backstory moments. I stuck around for the story through the rough animation and...repetitive plot near the end.
