Great episode. Your presentation really convinced me that Disney is preparing for recession. Park visits are such high ticket experiences that as money gets tighter, people can easily choose other ways to spend time/$. I like the moves towards satisfying customers and not every move was about money.

I'm happy to see they're listening. I had given up on any positive change for the people who help pay their salaries. Thanks for your take on this. I agree the cuffs are off and people who know their jobs are being listened to.

Always appreciate your balanced takes on the business end of the company. While it’s been painful for us customers, it sure is fascinating to see all of this leadership and corporate drama play out in real time.😂

Great new channel! Love your views of the changes. I can completely attest to how it felt the first time at the park last summer. It’s complete and utter stress when you are trying to not only navigate a new park but everything that you said. The running from Ride to Ride to make our times and having to pay extra for all that Genie and lightning lanes. My husband just looks at me funny and asks me why we just can’t “do“ the park like we do any other park. Just start on one side and make your way around. I am super sad. Looking back to realize I missed whole areas of the park from having to do all of the running around. I never even saw Autopia or got to ride the train. Now I have an extra reason to come back one day. Epcot is my next goal, but I still love following your Podcasts and videos! Thanks so much Brickey!! ❤🏰

Good stuff . Very well organized thoughts . I feel like the reservation system will one day go away , based on the new AP news for Disney world . Just a matter of time

Hey Brickey I just wanted to bring attention to the fact that the Disneyland holiday store NEVER had ANY decor or items to buy for Kwanza this year despite saying when the store opened they said it would be included. Appreciate your thoughts on this do you have any idea what happened?

I think it’s easier to stop reservation In WDW because they have more room , more parks, for Disneyland it would be much harder, I imagine buying a single day ticket, driving the 350 miles, and not be able to use it that day because there’s and any room for me in the park, the parks are busy even though people are not as happy with them as they used to be, I think more people like me. I hope when I get to the park it feels like the good old days, that’s why we keep coming back. Im hoping that the parks keep improving 😊

It IS a start and definitely a step(s) in the right direction. I like your analogy to having “the cuffs removed”. The return to hopefulness and optimism is welcome. Also liked hearing “Bobby I”😉 I’ve been so used to hearing “Bobby C ‘Chapstick’” but now we can have a new nickname with no Chapstick involved. 😂 Appreciate your takes, Brickey. Also agree….no trams and the incredibly cumbersome hoops to jump through to GIVE THEM OUR MONEY are WAY different than moving a bench or a snack kiosk. And it has definitely been true that it’s been harder to recommend the parks to friends. Looking forward to that changing. Thanks, friend.

Thank You! And no us being bummed out about hoops and high prices is way different than Disney moving a bench. I find that insulting.

Definitely agree with how hard it's been to recommend the parks to friends. I want to be able to easily convince family and friends to join us in the parks and that's been a challenge the past few years. Fingers crossed! 🤞

While I appreciate your positivity, the basic issues for Disney are the still ridiculously high prices, the recession which is here, not coming, and the lack of park maintenance. Compare this to Universal Studios. Good luck.

Thanks for taking on this story when I heard about it I thought we’ll there’s two sides to every story and I know from experience last year My best friend used the DAS pass on our trip last year and the cast members were very accommodating and helpful and when we went on the jungle cruise they asked if she was able to transfer into the boat on her own or did she need to wait for the wheel chair accessible boat she looked at the steps and made the choice to transfer on her own . That was her choice not the cast member’s and they did ask before she got on so they shouldn’t be liable on serval rides she was always asked if she could transfer on her own so as for us we had only good experiences with the DAS pass as for as the laughing part your right that’s the important piece of the story that need to be found out

im glad to see them trying to make positive changes, ive always loved Disney and this past October was let down bit for the first time.. i took a couple friends who had never been to Disneyland and the 4 days we were there never got to see the Big firework shows they used to have each night at the castle because we had went during the weekdays and my friends were disappointed not to get to see all the things such as that which id always told them about... so i was wondering if disney had lost some of its magic. im hoping not now that some are trying once again to put positive changes in there and maybe i can get my friends to go back again, also yes prices were very high and no it didnt seem you got as much esp the magical feelings

I think that extending Chapeks contract was a huge mistake. They renewed it only to get rid of him and have to pay a golden parachute, think of all the good that they could have done with this money. WTG Disney!! I do not feel like it is the customers obligation to offset the losses suffered due to closure, there is insurance products to cover that. If a company wants to recoup that is up to them by bettering their product and getting more business, increasing prices on what business you have is never the answer.

Why aren't people making more of a big deal out of it??? Let's see, because these were Paycheck era price gouging tactics that made us all stop going!!! That turned the biggest Disneyholic into sad, frustrated people who couldn't the old Disney magic anywhere anymore (trust me on that one). These moves are TINY drops into restoring the Disney we love. When they get more done, THEN I'll give them props. And maybe treat the amazing cast members like humans. (Sorry this is late, just caught this. Since I go to WDW far more than Disneyland, I don't always catch vids right away.

@@brickeytalksdisney Shoulda guessed lol. Also, having just taken some family members to DL who are not regulars, trying to explain genie+ and LL and LL+ was not only challenging but also made me feel bad, like the relative who keeps squeezing their in laws for money or something lol. It was a good trip overall but bringing guests who haven't been in the parks since fast pass and having to try and explain LL was a real beast.

Conspiracy theory, Chapek was hired to be the fall guy all along. Disney wanted to make these changes to make more money, but didn't want to tarnish Igers reputation with the diehards.
