Not sure why anyone would say that. He is a great player and one of the nicest guys in the sport. Honestly, I don't see how any player is more fun to watch than another, it's just the nature of this sport. All I really care about is players who don't act like babies and show their ass when things are going bad, especially when they know they are on lead or chase card coverage. Act like you've been their before.

I initially avoided prodigy because of all the negative comments about them. I decided to give them a shot and now love several molds from prodigy. None of the discs I’ve purchased have flashing. I’ve had more discs with terrible flashing from innova, dynamic and westside. All in all most people hate prodigy because it’s the popular thing to do. Just like anything on the internet, people love to jump on the hate train.

Isn’t it crazy how Prodigy never seems to have a ‘big powerhouse’ team yet their players are constantly winning huge titles on the pro tour while throwing that awful Prodigy plastic? Surely their discs aren’t good enough for all of the 850 rated players here in the comments…

"downfall" is an overly dramatic word choice. Yeah, they've lost a ton of pros over the last 2 years, but a small pro team doesn't strongly correlate with the success of the team members or with disc sales. MVP, Kastaplast, and even Innova should be evidence enough of that. Don't underestimate the impact of Chantel Budinsky and Caroline Henderson, either.

Interesting how everyone knocks Prodigy but they seem to be ahead of the curve on signing new player's that will turn into something. At the very least; they enabled a lot of the big names today to get going at the pro level. Would we have all the names we have today without Prodigy?

I will disagree with some of your points. Buhr broke his contract, and that was the right move. You can't argue that he's 17, he (or his parents) signed a contract. There are stamped discs that did promote his wins (even his fist Silver Series win), as well as every single win that one of their tour players achieved, even Parker Welck and Ezra's. Did you guys even do your research?

Note to Prodigy: it is practically impossible to become emotional about a disc when it does not have a name. Putting a letter with a number in place of a name is utterly emotionless, and a super silly naming convention. And then, using numbers and (shock-horror!) more letters to name your plastics - well that is simply indefensible. You end up with disc names like "H3 V2 400G". If you can't see the difference between that and a "Halo Star Destroyer", or a "Champion Firebird", or a "Grand Orbit Grace" or a "Supreme Escape", then I don't know what to tell you. And finally, it is necessary to note the standard stamps on Prodigy discs are without doubt, the most boring and uninspiring stamps in all of disc golf. And, as a result no one gives prodigy discs a second look in my disc golf store, unless they pick up a disc in sticky 400G. Then they put it back in the box after a few seconds. :P I guess it is possible to argue that Prodigy's naming systems were a "gigantic fustercluck", but it is more accurate (and less controversial/clickbaity) to say they made some basic mistakes which prevented players becoming passionate about their products. And without passionate buyers, you have nothing. Note the passion with which an RPM thrower will defend their love for their Atomic Ruru, their Strata Takapu, or their Platinum Kahu. That's not coincidence, is it?

As disc golf contracts, the big money deals for players outside the top 10 are gonna be albatrosses for the smaller brands. Gannon is super talented, but is he gonna sell discs commensurate with a big deal? If you combine his and Alden's social media presence, it's still a fraction of Simon's, not to mention the fact that a vast majority of disc golfers don't care about the pro game.

Crumbling? Because YOU say so? Highly doubt it. Their problem is newbie and MA8 players online and videos such as this saying nothing positive - when they deserve the opposite. People complain about Prodigy flashing. It's nothing compared to Innova molds these days. People complain about the discs being inconsistent and unreliable. How many wins did Prodigy players amass last year? A LOT. Truth is they still make some fantastic plastic and some great discs. If people would throw the products before internet bashing them - videos like this wouldnt exist. Sadly, the community is full of lemmings (see MVP sales after signing Simon) that throw what they are told, jump on bash wagons when they have no business doing so, and cannot make an educated disc decision based on field testing. Gotta love disc golf!
