Living Big In A Tiny House

Күн бұрын

This couple are living the downsizing dream! After selling their four bedroom home, Amelia and Dan have moved into a spectacular tiny house in the country with a beautiful river and forest on their doorstep.
Their tiny home is beautifully crafted, light and spacious with duel lofts and ample space for the couple, who enjoy having more free time to enjoy creative projects. Bibliophiles will also really appreciate all the hiding spots for books around the home, while movie lovers will enjoy the incredible entertainment loft!
We hope you enjoy the tour of this beautiful tiny home in the country.

I wonder why they want to build again? Also, I was so used to hearing really low prices for tiny houses where the people did a lot of diy, that hearing $170,000 sounds so high now! Compared to traditionally built houses, it’s still so low, but I really feel for young people with lower incomes, or single moms, school teachers, etc.

Also admire the way he always manages to appreciate & mention special, beautiful, or utilitarian aspects of every home he enters, no matter how elaborate & custom built or how simple & basic each tiny home is. Bryce's open mindedness and open heart allow each home and each home owner to shine & we as viewers get the BEST tour in every single podcast. I've often wondered about families with small children tucked into small spaces. How are they doing a few years later when the kids themselves take up more space and come to an age where they want some privacy. Does the family end up going back to a regular size home? Or do they add on to their tiny home?

I loved the laundry and closet area too. And finally someone with lots of books! :) I thought it was really nice that you showed so much of their personality. New Zealand is so far ahead of the U.K. when it comes to tiny house living….. the planning laws in the U.K. are so draconian, they don’t get it at all! Such a shame when it’s such a good option for so many reasons, especially considering the huge lack of affordable housing right now

Yes indeed. The UK planning laws are in the dark ages. Local authorities and the government wants to shovel everyone into dystopian sardine tin poor housing in marginal brown field sites, and they are STILL too expensive. Apart from obvious areas of valued natural beauty we need to relax planning laws and stop the exponential rise in property prices by taxing second homes, build GENUINELY affordable housing and lift the ridiculous restrictions on people who simply wish to live in efficient homes largely where they wish. Planning laws are nearly always exploited by the rich to preserve their exclusive access to pleasant places solely through buying power.

after 57 years in the house they lived & raised the 4 of us; my parents are having to downsize their lives to a travel trailer on a property dad bought 40 years ago but never got to move to. peeling back layers to dress up the old place exposes the wear that we put there. some things make us smile. some we cry. if y'all watching this wonderful series don't mind saying a prayer for all the older folks out there having to go through this, could y'all please offer up a little prayer for joy & comfort to all of them...

This seems to be nearly identical to Helen's home in "Young Woman's Incredible Tiny Forever Home" from 3 years ago - right down to the plants and the big blue corner couch. Gotta be the same builder. I really like that one, but I do like the window in the living room in this one. I like the pantry in the previous one better. But as they are so similar, I like them both. I am surprised that Bryce made NO reference to the previous one.

Very much agree on the width. 8.5 feet makes it feel like a tunnel, not homey. I lived in an apt that was narrow in the middle, to the point where we could sit on the couch and put our feet up on the bookcases opposite. OK for a year or two, claustrophobic after a while.

I would love to do that but have so many (colorful) clothes already; it will take forever until everything wears out. I love the black house and how neat everything is outside. Clearly esthetics are important to both of you. I appreciate that! I guess I should start my list of "things I need in my tiny". Two lofts for sure, and freestanding furniture. To my eye it makes a big difference to have a real sofa, table and chairs. I can picture a substantial deck giving you even more living space when the weather is good. Regards from Indiana!

I realised near the end of this video I'd been smiling throughout- the word sanctuary certainly does apply here. Love the couple, their home as well as the surroundings; I love the trees and the river.. Thanks Bryce for another gem.

I have to tell, they have been more prepared on how to talk than other tiny house owners which is class and shows the quality of value they gave to your channel. The house itself is a class. Loved the design of it

Amazing design and loved your house. Also love the kitchen table that folds down and the chairs so it makes it cosy and not just a bench to eat your dinner at. Well done guys LOVE LOVE LOVE your house and having that big blue velvet couch is a must.

Binge watch this channel at your own risk. Next thing you know, you're looking into tiny house designers, land to put said tiny house on, etc. I love it and downsizing is the best feeling. We don't have a tiny house but did downsize by 1000square feet last year to a smallish condo and I don't regret or miss having all the extra stuff or house to clean and maintain.

Thanks a lot. Because of you I now have a tiny house. Not with wheels though. In my country, trailer living is not that common. My tiny house is built on the extra backyard 5m x 7 m lot of my daughter. Need my alone time too. It has two floors; first floor is my bedroom complete with a cute bathroom ; second floor is terrace designed with sink and my six seater dining table and a sofa bed between my houseplants. And the most cherished part of the upstairs, my garden. Im a senior grandma of two wonderful grandkids with autism level spectrum and they are just so thrilled with my tiny house.

What a lovely home, and how wonderful they have books. So many people who downsize seem to get rid of books first (if they had many to start with). I'd quite like to live in a tiny home (probably a converted bus) and my biggest problem is all the books hubby and I have - about 6,000 between us. Makes tiny home living a bit of a conundrum. This home is just great and I like the two separate lofts and the walled in bedroom.

That sounds like a small library! Just curious why you need all of those books? Have you read them all? If so, are you going to read them again? Research? Sentimental? Rare/valuable? I buy mine from the local library for a quarter. After I've read it, I put my initials in the back so I don't get the same one later on, return it, and buy more. I have so many stacked around my house right now. I need to get moving and get them back to the library. They look great, and company knows that I'm a reader, but they're really just taking up space and getting dusty. Regards from Indiana!
