Hey Rick. I've been golfing at least monthly for a year and a half, struggling a lot. Never broke 115, watched your video series a couple times this year. I watched it again last night and primarily applied the shift forward at the top of the swing. (2:30) Focusing on this, I made 108 today. New record with 51 on the front 9. Thanks for your help!

Rick, another awesome video with loads of information. Thank you for your time and effort!!! I love what you said about the clubs in that we have 14 and they all have a job to do, we don’t need to help them. Perfect advice!!! I would love a series on wedges. That is my struggle area. Thanks again.

I love these videos by Rick. They are so helpful to complement the lessons I’m taking with my local pro. That’s probably because I apparently need to hear adjustments about 30 times before it sinks in. 😀 The best part are the overlays on the video to enable me to “picture” what’s being said. Thanks, Rick!

Thank you for putting these videos together. Many swing coaches will either correct your problems but not walk you through the swing or they will walk you through part of the swing one session at a time. Watching all these videos in one hour gives even a novice enough information to go to the range and understand how to swing. For amateurs with years of playing, these videos are a great reminder on the basics that fall away over time

Videos shouldn’t even exist breaking down the golf swing - the golf swing is a totally natural motion we have as humans - imagine someone on their knees and with a straight palm in posture slap that person in the face - you’ll naturally turn as will your body weight shift and your hand automatically will be flat at impact of the slap and will want to release further past the face - all the golf club is is an extension of your flat palm - take your driver and hold the head square in your hands and watch the face angle match your hand angle - when you swing just imagine your slapping someone on their knees with your palm flat to their face and go to slap them - the motion is natural and the face will be automatically square as your hand is at point of impact of the slap. That’s why I don’t agree with breaking the swing down and trying to consciously adjust motion - just imaginary slap someone with your flat palm where you’d hold the club and slap them - you would never stop and analyse the motion - the slap is just a natural move like skimming a stone - you wouldn’t stop half way through to check a position!! It’s a natural move - that’s what the pros secret is - they’re just trying to turn the slap faster and finding ways to create more speed and slap harder - with a golf club simply an extension of your right palm - just imagine growing your arm to the ball - the palm would be completely square naturally - this is what the golf club head will do, the pros just work on anything that might become a conscious move rather than a natural motion that needs no tampering to be a perfect shot - simply slapping the ball with a really long arm (the golf club) and the palm will be perfectly square - only in the golf swing the shaft is an extension of the arm and the club head will be the extension of the arm and the club head the palm of the hand slapping the ball naturally square - try it - video it and I guarantee you’ll see the positions you want to see - with the club because you won’t be thinking about technique or technical positions - you’ll naturally turn and shift weight and then turn with weight behind the face and deliver the arm with a flat palm to slap the persons face on their knee (imaginary) so now just think about that motion when you’re stood over the ball - nothing but the club head being the palm (imagine the club head is glued to your palm with the face directly at the angle of the cheek that the slap will deliver) you’re not hitting an object you’re just slapping someone who’s face is where your arms rest at setup and then you won’t think or need to look at any part of the swing because the motion cannot be changed - your brain computes turning and weight shift and palm angle to deliver a perfect slap, just hold a golf club and do the same thing - only a ball will be in the way at the natural bottom ark and not someone’s face

@@jasonn488496811 yeah I disagree, this video has helped me a lot. As to your argument, people who haven't been taught to strike or spent a lot of time discovering the best ways to do it themselves are terrible at it, if you've ever seen a person who hasn't been trained fight someone who has, it's a big difference. Think of it like this, all people have different natural skill levels for everything they do, everything. If you imagine that 'Achieving the intended goal' is the measure of any skill, you can see some people naturally excel at achieving more of their goals than others. There are key differences in why one is succeeding more frequently than the other, such as tilting the club slightly more so that your muscles will have more natural flow and thus incorporate more power. Some people would just never figure that out, we're all quite different and have different strengths, and some are visual learners.

For the love of God Rick, thank you for finally making sense of the swing from start to finish! I was lost an now I'm found. I agree that many make the entire process unbelievably complex. So much so that I feel it would be easier to split an atom than swing a golf club! I wish I had found this series sooner. I've had more tips than a Saturday night bar maid. Finally something simple!!

This is amazing, I have had so many lessons, all they do is give bandages a quick fix, it’s like they want you playing bad so you can keep taking lessons, oh wait lol😅 I was lucky to find a teacher who actually work with lpga and corn ferry tour guys, this is what he got me doing. First I had to get rid of the position golf swing, that has taken me 5 months, you know, arms have control the body follows the left shoulder under the chin , take the club back on the inside with your arms and on and on. You actually want to play this game Posture Constant grip preasure Hips and torso rotate at the same time just like He say, you be surprised how hard your brain would fight you because it’s not what you been doing I’m still getting rid of stuff, once you switch and give control to the body you would enjoy. Thanks guy this videos are gold.. and no it is not an arms swing please get that out of your head I know we had been fed that crap for years. Find a teacher who actually works with pros or someone who actually tells you that the body is control

Outstanding series of video's, easy to understand and process. I have truly defined what is a hacker and really never got any good at this game, frustrating as I was quite a good athlete in a number of other sports. Put the clubs down about 7 years ago due to a series of knee surgeries and just recently picked them back up. Decided I would re-embark and, even if I could only participate at the driving range, I would try to achieve consistency and a ball striking ability that I would feel good about. Watching this series and then going out and recreating at the range has me really excited and now I feel my knees might just be strong enough again to allow me to play the game, might have to cart it - which is really not my first choice - but it would appear I can pivot and withstand the shocks involved. Many thanks, I really appreciate this information and have been referring to it regularly. Cheers!

This went really well with your hitting a 3 wood off the fairway video, I couldn’t really figure out how to “aim” a few inches forward of the ball and had some great shots but also some terrible ones when I went to the range. I’m super confident and excited to get back out there now. Edit: I also noticed that slight movement of the hip forward gets more of your weight to move towards your front foot for the finish and follow through which I also didn’t understand 👌🏼👍🏽👍🏽

Rick, thanks for this series. I've golfed before but never took the game seriously so I'm pretty much a beginner. The game shows it and I think much of the problem is with the downswing. I'm right-handed. Presumably I should be maintaining swing plane, so that in the downswing the club stays in the same plane as it was in the upswing. How do I do that? Where should the upper right arm and elbow be relative to my torso in the downswing? Close to the torso?
