I have to say I’m really appreciative of how respectful and decent this interview was. I know it’s human nature to want to know the dirt details of someone you look up to but this interview felt respectful and informative without feeling invasive and as in some situations disrespectful and hurried. I really enjoyed watching this. I felt like I learned some things about Dream despite being a fairly big fan for the last year or so and being in the middle of all things social media this fairly well informed as things have developed. I felt like the interviewers were well informed and took their time to come up with questions that were respectful and about Dream’s career even when his personal life came up they were still respectful about his responses. Thank you for this interview. I’ll be subscribing to your content so that I can watch more.

The first bit it was stands out to me. The impression I got was that he took the mask off such that he can make IRL content with his friends, but going back to the mask seems to complicate that goal. I’d be interested in the specific timeline of this, as some of it seems reactionary and somewhat improvised, and I wonder when the decisions in this transition were made.

@@xblakethompson he's been in multiple irl streams of his friends recently !! i don't think the mask is going to complicate things as much as we think, as he really only has put it on for big events like vidcon and twitchcon. even during twitchcon, he momentarily took it off during one of the events he was in as it was distracting him, so i really think it's more kind of just for the brand but won't really alter many other aspects of his life. he did say in the podcast that eventually he would be wearing it less.

This changed my life, and I don't mean that lightly. My perspective: I look up to Dream as both inspiration and somewhat of a friend who I listen to rather than speaking with, and as an introvert, that's the best I could ever ask for in a friend anyways. This interview asked better questions than any others have, and Dream was allowed to talk fully through each part. I've never looked up to him as much as I do now, since I found so many similarities between us; I am an avid writer, constantly putting off schoolwork to write fiction, and I have started a book which I intend to self-publish within two years. Writing has taken over much of the time I would otherwise be reading, and I have finished books within one or two days before starting a new one. Words are my escape, like Dream said, and my sole reason for writing is to be able to be a storyteller - to share my fantasies with other people who can enjoy them. Like Dream, I've gone through a very dark place after realizing my aspirations were very unlikely to pan out and my purpose and passion in life was probably not going to happen. Dream was right in saying his best creativity came from it; so did mine. Thankfully, I pushed myself to take up my passion again after dropping writing for a long while, and I got better much sooner than Dream did. Like him, I am much happier now since I don't take being happy for granted and I understand that I can achieve if I put the work in. And, the final kicker: I am on track to graduate early, as well. I fully intend to learn from Dream and take writing seriously. Substantial thank you to Colin and Samir for rekindling my motivation and quite possibly setting my life back on the right track.

Ahhh this was such an awesome interview. It’s always so nice to hear dream tell stories about his success, growth because he becomes so passionate and goes into so much detail. It’s just interesting to see how his mind works, his strategies, the thought put behind each and every decision. He is just such an intriguing dude. Also this interview made me see the human aspect of dream. Learning about his childhood, friendships, struggles, negative sides of fame, it was all so interesting and so humanising. His vulnerability and openness is impressive ❤

Dream is really comfortable speaking when he’s in mask. I can’t imagine him speaking like that without the mask and as you can also see in his video, he really does speak less without wearing the smiley mask.

In every other interview the questions are always the same meaning the answers are always the same. but from this interview, although some common questions were also asked we were able to get new answers and learn more about dream/clay and being able to hear everything that he wants to say :) Also you guys seem like you really wanna know the guy and is actually intrested in him. great job on this! 00:31:23 I really didn't expect him to read the exact phrases of the music that, back when it was released, helped me take a deciding move, that if I didn't do it in time, I would probably be fired from my work because of depression and anxiety for the 3rd time. Listening to Mask really helped me step out of my mattress, and face my work (it's a remote job), which helped me go back to seeing my doctors and control my depression and anxiety. I know the song might sound silly to some people, but it has a special place in my heart and in my skin forever (I tattooed the phrase on my left arm so that I can see it every day when I need to boost my motivation, remembering that I can do it and don't let depression or anxiety freeze me). 00:35:30 basically Mask helped me have the same realisation as Dream says at this timestamp, and I try not to forget that during harder times.

People don't talk about Dream's creativity and video making skills enough. It almost seems as though everytime Dream is brought up, it's in relation to his fans being weird or numerous controversies he's been in. Dream pioneered a lot of ideas in minecraft that other youtubers still emulate today. He offered a fresh perspective to vanilla minecraft due to his skills in coding. People don't give him enough credit for his achievements even if he may be cringe sometimes.
