The Duke of Edinburgh, Britain’s Longest-Serving Royal Consort, Has Died Aged 99

3 жыл бұрынThe Duke of Edinburgh has passed away at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
In this video, we look back on the extraordinary life of Britain’s longest-serving royal consort. Born in 1921 into the Greek and Danish royal families, Philip was educated in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
After giving up a promising career as an officer in the Royal Navy, he went on to dedicate most of his adult life to serving at the Queen’s side. Prince Philip retired from public service in 2016.

@@Gaudine it is considered as difficult because of the grammar and the rich vocabulary. It's a wonderful language though, as it gave its roots to all the scientific and artistic world. The greek alphabet is like an hymn to life.. my husband is french, but by studying alone he managed to write and read perfectly. If you want to educate your brain go ahead 🌿💋 you wii feel more wise and more rich.

Driving home from work and my daughter let's me know that Prince Phillip has passed away. I got such an instant knot in my throat and tears in my eyes. I genuinely didn't think I would wake up to this news anytime soon, despite knowing how old he was. He just seemed larger than life somehow. He may not have been perfect (no one is) but I admired him; serving during WWII, carrying out his Royal duties with resiliency and just getting on with the job, no matter the challenge. Having also lost my grandfather not too long ago, I truly feel for the Royal Family. It is so heartbreaking to lose one's grandparent. May he rest in peace.

The Queen must be heartbroken. She loved him from her teenage years, she had his photo near her bed during her teenage years, when her parents didn't like her choice she stood in her decision of marrying the love of her life and yes she got him. Especially that they were married since 1947.. such a long time. He was always by her side, doesn't matter what. Of course, everyone mourns in the family and everyone feel big pain because of his death, but he was her husband, her partner, her soul mate, her rock... Losing someone you've loved since you were a young woman , while also ruling a nation during a worldwide pandemic that has hit your country harder than before . Tryong to balance between grief and duty , that has to be tough , especially when the queen is already in her nineties .

It is profoundly sad. I remember when my mother was widowed though at a much earlier age. We can take solace in the fact that the queen has an extensive emotional support system and I'm sure if such were possible nearly every one of her subjects would give her a hug. She is well loved by her people. No doubt Charles and William will jump in to take over her duties so she can mourn properly.

A war veteran, a husband, a fatherDuke of Edinburgh,… but it was the role of being a constant support for her wife Queen Elizabeth II that stands out the most. May he rest in peace! My condolences to Queen Elizabeth, her children, grandchildren on Prince Philip's death. They were married for 70 years & loved each other dearly. He lived a long life but losing someone you love is always painful. RIP Prince Philip.
