Diana had a very dark cruel side to her nature, that first manifested itself when Diana was a wee girl, by the torturing of her nannies, along with her stepmother Rain., pushing her down stairs, along with verbal abuse. Diana’s father could have saved so much pain and misery, if he’d only given then Prince of Wales heads up, on his daughter’s mental instability. But it seems he wanted the family status of, a Spencer becoming a Queen, and said nothing as a result. Diana didn’t die a saint, or free of sin.

How? She wasn’t in love with anyone but Charles. She tried in her niave way to lure her husband back to her. You can see in photos of them that they were in love and had Camilla minded her own husband and children. Princess Diana just might have been here today to see her sons grow up and what a fabulous grandmother she would have been. I if in her position I would have said go back to your Rottweiler and I am not giving up my position that I have created for your jealousy. I’m not your mummy. I was forced to file for divorce. It left me excommunicated from my church but not him. He remarried in a chapel and after several years of fertility treatments they finally had a set of twins. Cant have a divorced future queen running about, also while at the time The Queen didnt want Camilla around, she did want Charles to marry again when he was on the throne, so what to do??? Lots of videos online about it, theres one called "unlawful killing" about the inquest and events, also a video by David Icke about how it was a ritual murder(while theres too many bits to mention here, two notable tidbits are when told of Dianas death the Queens first comment was she asked if her brakes had been "greased/tampered" with, and Diana had written a letter to her lawyer and her butler saying she suspected she would die in a car accident so Charles could remarry), you might think its a bit tinfoil hat-ish, but in the year 1997, three women close to charles died or almost died. In the summer that year, Camilla Parker Bowles was involved in a car accident in the UK, she fled the scene of the accident, when asked why she did that, she said she was afraid the accident was an attempt on her life. August, we have Diana's death of course, and in november-ish of that year, we have Lady Tryon died of "blood poisoning". Prior to that she "fell" out of a hospital window, however she swears she was pushed. If you;re not familiar with her, she had an affair with Charles as well, and over the years she could be a bit indiscreet about it and wanting contact with Charles. Diana was a beauty inside and out, I'm glad I got to follow that ride from 1980 onwards (and met her briefly on one of her walkabouts). You wont see someone like her again for a long time.

I don’t think I believe what the narrator said about Diane’s sister, Sarah, telling Diana she thought all this kingdom was going to be hers!! (Meaning she thought she would marry Charles). I have read and heard more than once, that she didn’t want Charles at all!! Unless she changed her mind on her sisters wedding day, realizing for the first time, what all she had lost, by not wanting to marry Charles. If she really said that to Diana, it was a very mean and selfish thing to say to her own younger sister!!

Sarah also knew about Charles' affection towards Camilla (as she was a part of Charles's close-knit friends group and she even dated him briefly before Charles met Diana) but Sarah never told that to Diana so she could prepare herself or make the decision of marrying him based on the facts and not a naive fairytale she had envisioned at such a young age. Maybe Sarah had already blew her chance but the Spencer family was also struggling like many other noble families (financially, taxes were getting higher, labor wasn't cheap, etc.) so the idea of having the future queen and a future king's mother from their family must've been a good enough idea for them to blindside Diana and let her marry a man who didn't really look for love in the marriage. (Which I think is okay as long as both parties are on the same page. But Diana clearly didn't want a transactional marriage -- her family did IMO.) Now the Spencers are one of the very few noble, aristocratic British families who didn't have to split up their estates and sell their stately houses and they still have so much money. Thanks to selling tickets just to let people go to their family estate and see Diana's grave over there -- for ticket prices around £20. Crazy.

Well it was Charles that broke off the relationship with Sarah after she indiscreetly talked to the press (its why in the early clips in this film when you see Diana saying "I really can't say" she learned from Sarah's misstep.) Sarah had said to the effect of she would marry for love and it didnt matter if it was the king or the dustbin man, she wouldn;t be pushed into it. After that, Charles cooled on her, she also was coming off treatment for anorexia and being dropped from school over alcohol abuse plus she had prior to Charles, lost the relationship she had her hopes pinned on, so as to what kind of legs it would have had is certainly up for debate, but I would imagine shed have liked the trappings of being Princess of Wales, as all the titled families have it drummed into them to try at marry up as high as possible by their family, so I'm inclined to believe it, esp. as its been reported multiple times over the years. Sarah and Diana did certainly have a sibling rivalry in the sense that Diana worshiped Sarah as the oldest and "coolest" sister. Before she had got her flat at Colherne Court, she lived with Sarah briefly and she would work her like a dog cleaning the flat and other places for 1 pound and hour and hosting parties. Theres also a couple good clips of Diana speaking in the docs on her Morton book where she talks about how she didnt think Charles liked Sarah being all over him like a bad rash when he visited when she was 16, and her tagging along to turn on the lights to the room with paintings Charles wanted Sarah to show him. Sarah was also a little ticked when Diana was invited to Charles birthday party the year he was seeing Sarah, IIRC. So the wedding in 81 was kind of a student passing the master so to speak as far as who was top sister. Sarah did later on act as one of her ladies in waiting on royal functions sometimes, it;s also interesting to see Diana was a bridesmaid in her sister Jane's wedding, but not Sarah's. A couple good documentaries to watch is "Story of a Princess parts 1 & 2, and the National Geographic one done six years ago, also the tapes she made with her voice coach Peter Settlein(sp) are also revealing. Cheers

@@fanni24 Ah yes, you have hit on one of the most bedeviling questions of the whole Diana story that never gets a proper look at or answer, what did they (her friends and family) know, and when did they know it about C&C? I tend to agree with you that the family slid her under the bus on that one, when Johnny took over Althorp was in need of some serious upkeep, and the death duties when he took over from his father "jack" was very expensive(to Diana;s grandfather's credit, he did keep the place afloat during some hard times for families like that post war. While Raine, Countess Spencer gets lots of criticism from the kids at the time, aside from some of the garish pink carpets and such, she did save both Johnny's health after the stroke and the estate with her work on having tours, selling wine and souvenirs from the estate, etc. That all being said, like her grandmother Ruth, the family was not above putting its future ahead of any supposed reservations a young girl, esp one born after the first attempt at a male heir baby john Spencer died a few years before her. This was, so to speak Diana's chance to sing for her supper as far as the family was concerned, so any tittle tattle about C&C was not going to make them get in the way, doubly so after their first attempt with Sarah, crashed and burned. While Jane's marriage to Robert Fellows later bore some fruit with his role as HM's private secretary, it was really up to Diana to secure that home run marriage. Also things like Charles's break up with Anna Wallace, like the woman herself, was very bold and feisty, after Charles spent the night dancing with Camilla when he was Anna's date, she rather loudly said to the effect of she wouldnt put up with that from anyone, even him, and sped away in her car (interestingly, she looks very much like Diana did at that time). So, im sure that got around to friends and family of Diana;s not to mention previous encounters with Camilla, the whole RF knew Anne and the QM were talking about it and the QM said she thought both C&C were unlikely to give each other up before or during the marriage. Also there was the "private eye" magazine article about Camilla being Charles companion when he went to the independence ceremonies for Zimbabwe in 1980 as well (which Diana would read private eye, she used to joke with photographers about the articles in it. So I find it almost impossible that people close to Diana did not know, or even that Diana herself did not know, esp after reading Steven Barry's (Charles old valet) book. While he was not a fan of hers, and I'm sure Diana may not have been fully aware, she was cleverer than she got credit for about people, not to mention she could be somewhat "flexible" with the truth at times, I love her to death, but even I have to admit that about her. Also there was the many weekends they would spend at the Parker Bowles home before the wedding and she was starting to see what a hold Cam had on him. Another factor I think at play is i think people had factored in that like so many other marriages of people at that social strata, they remain loyal till the heir is produced, and then each is more or less free to pursue their own "interests", so long as it doesnt bring ruin on the family, or the estate gets split up. I think the Spencers and maybe her friends, and certainly any in the RF, who may have been inclined to say anything, that she would know this or at least figure it out, and basically find her male version of "Camilla" and both of them would lead separate private and joint public lives for tours, the cameras, etc. Considering how Diana was sort of farmed off and an afterthought till she was in her late teens, things like her voracious reading of Barbara Cartland romance novels (in an ironic twist, she's the mother to Dianas future step mother, Raine) gave her unrealistic ideas about how love and marriage would turn out for her. So while everyone though she "knew the rules" so to speak, she was not at all prepared to live that way, sort of like in war, the worst battles are when one side fundamentally misreads the other, and I think that sort of what happened here, with both misreading the other to devastating effect. She never got the experience, or more importantly, teaching from her sisters or mother, aunts, etc. on how to find a suitable companion post marriage. Another sad turn, after seeing "Story of a Princess" documentary is while he's often cast as the cad, James Hewitt was probably the best choice for a long term companion for her while Charles was elsewhere, but she got upset when she couldnt prevent his deployment to Germany and then the Gulf war (another reason she was so keen on supporting those gulf war women in the video, she was secretly one of them^^) and when he got back she dropped him again, post "squidgy-gate". She asked him to talk to the person writing the "princess in love" book and when it didnt have the desired effect she wanted, she cast him as the cad who betrayed her. I think if shed have hung onto him she and Charles would have settled into a comfortable rhythm and she's be our Queen today instead of as she was described a horse faced, chain smoking tart, Camilla. Loved your comment^^

@@goofyroofy Really well-written comments, I loved reading them, they revealed fascinating details about Diana's life prior Charles, even though I myself did my fair share of research and reading about them and Charles and Camilla. It's refreshing to come across people on the internet who can think for themselves and form well-worded comments and great insights, connections between events, etc. I quite agree that Diana was "kept in the dark" about Charles' private life and because of her naivety about romance, love, marriage, loyalty, she didn't even think that the 30 something year-old prince wouldn't be a virgin with zero history regarding women. It was certainly her own family to blame for, no one else could have prepared her for what she'd expected to be a fairytale princess story. I also think she wasn't toally clueless in her later years about matters of love, marriage, etc. and she could play the media very well. She never really dropped the mask of the 19-year-old innocent virgin countrygirl when in fact she did turn out to be a woman of the world. When I looked into her extramarital affairs, I noticed her tendency of clinging/obsessing over men who didn't worship her like society or the press did. She usually turned heads wherever she went so when she met men like Will Carling or Oliver Hoare for example who ended up not breaking up with his wife to be with Diana, it did hurt her ego. She was insecure and anxious about finding love, attention, care that she didn't get at home as a child and in her marriage as a young adult. When a man whom she was romantically involved with, didn't worship her and didn't leave their partners, she'd go crazy. Oliver Hoare was married to a rich, influential woman and didn't want to divorce her (understandably) for a quick affair with the married Princess of Wales so he basically broke up with Diana which she couldn't bear. She'd call the Hoares' family phone multiple times at night, drove to their house and would stay there for hours, she was mental. Hoare's wife even made a report to the police about harassment and they were surprised to trace back some of the calls to Diana's private phone line in Kensington Palace or her mobile phone. I don't think she took breakups too well when they were happening to her and she didn't have the control. All in all, I believe that Diana could've achieved an even greated life and royal career if she'd accepted that her marriage was more of an arranged one rather than based on mutual love. She could've had any man as her true companion behind closed doors if she hadn't wanted to prove a point to Charles and she'd probably still be alive and well today and the Queen of England.

When did anyone ask Diana whether she actually wanted to be Queen? Although she would be unlikely to admit it, I think it’s likely that she didn’t, and that the enormity of what she had taken on, I.e. the job of being the future queen of England, for which she was totally unprepared, didn’t really dawn on her until she felt it was too late to turn back. There was also the pressure of public interest. Diana herself once said, “When I joined the Royal Family I knew that people would take an interest in me. What I didn’t realise was how overwhelming that interest would be.” It’s not hard to imagine how it could have made her unstable and neurotic. It’s time the British public started taking some of the blame themselves for Diana’s state of mind instead of fobbing all the blame off onto Charles. People wanted Diana to be Queen. They didn’t care what she wanted

Diana was a Spencer, she was not Royalty but was the product of the British upper crust, her Father and grandfathers were Earls...it was perfectly normal that that she would look to make a good marriage to someone worthy of her rank and In that regard, Prince Charles was quite a catch...it’s understandable that her family was pleased and the RF as also quite pleased with Diana...a lovely young woman from good breeding with an unblemished background....but they were sadly incompatible, sad for everyone especially for their sons....

Even Paul is lying in this video when he says that the Princess was "brimming with hope and love for the future". Diana was very much aware of what really was going on, but she simply hoped that Charles would focus his attention to her and forget all about Camilla. Sadly, that was not to be, and Diana was used as nothing more than a provider of an heir and a spare. But it left her with two gorgeous and magnificent boys that shaped the Monarchy in a way I could never have imagined.

Her two sons & grandchildren are a part of her DNA. I love seeing them & pray 🙏 that Jesus will always bless & keep them. Camella use to say her face looked like a mouse. Well, her sons & grandchildren have her good looks so I guess Camella calls them the Mouseketeers. What Princess Diana went through as a human being is tragic. Charles wooed her knowing she was an innocent virgin & he & Camella tortured her emotionally & laughed at her innocence. How could two older people be so cruel that she threw herself down the stairs & developed an eating disorder. Her eyes were so sad doing & after the divorce. God’s Grace is sufficient for those who call on Him & repents. Charles & Camella hurt the two sons. They should have given a public apology since they hurt millions of people even today the way they treated Princess Diana. God will one day make everything right. Greetings from Virginia USA 🇺🇸

i thought kings and queens and princess's only existed in fairytales, when i learned about Lady Di. I was only a child.. 10 yrs old. Even then, I understood that Kings and Queens and Empires were a terrible and bad thing for the human race.. I fell in love with Di. She wow'd me, as a child. However, if she had been a Kate Middleton, I would not have remained interested. My interest with Lady Di really began when she went into the AIDS ward, without gloves or protection of any kind, and she touched, held and spoke with infected and dying people. AIDS was a worse stigma then Covid was. And if Kate and Wills were HALF the person Diana was, they would not have complied with the various government's of the world in MAKING and ENFORCING people to wear a bloody mask and get vaccinated. If not, you're fired and thrown under the bus. If Wills and Kate were really like Diana, they would not have complied, and would have scolded the world for being so morally wrong and fearful. Like Diana did, when AIDS was the big nasty, out there killing people. They did nothing like that. Only Diana was out there, talking and speaking on things like Love, Respect, Humanity. Since she's been gone, no other rich people talk like that.. anywhere. Rich people lost their chance at redemption, when they allowed her to die.

Creo que los conocíamos más el resto del mundo, que ellos mismos!!! Terrible error en casarse con alguien sin conocerlo previamente, por lo menos se tenían que haber tratado un año o seis meses.

Charles was already engaged with Camilla while he got married and Camilla was always married during his relation with Charles least most the time so both undaithful Camillle and Charles. Considering Dianas age when she married or involved with Charles officislly she did not have time to cheat first, you know what ı mean?

She knew she was destined for something greater. She knew she was going to be in a car accident. She wanted to back out of the wedding. She knew Camilla would bring disaster. She was very perceptive, may not be so intellectual, but very perceptive. An aristocrat, pro monarchist, British to the very core. She deserved the crown.
