Toucan is this in the Tran or where’s this located the person who uploaded this video don’t know how to respond.

@@Theyhatelonzo to me, it looks like it is on the Transmission, you will simply have to get it on some ramps and look for any connecting rods that go close to the box.

I have an 04 X-Type 3.0 AWD... I just replaced the entire shift lever assembly and i am having the same problem, of the vehicle always going into reverse, but having issues changing into drive, and leaving neutral.. also when you shift up past R into P, sometimes it stays in R before it pops itself into P and slams to a stop.. I have never adjusted the adjustment cable.. is this a process that is applicable to the X-Type also?

Our video is meant to lead across many installations but yes it is similar enough to guide you. Also, you may have a bad solenoid.

Technically it is not IN the transmission but in the shift cable that runs from transmission (external end of cable) to shifter (internal end of cable). Most makes and models have a bushing for each end; many models depending upon year may use the same kit for both ends 9requiring 2 kits); other years each end requires unique kit for each end.
