In this video we are once more taking a look at the JG MAC 10 AEP machine pistol. In the last video we had a bit of gameplay and in that gameplay I mentioned about the lipo battery I am running in this Airsoft replica.
Here we will look at the easiest option to convert your aep powered machine pistol to LIPO. This should work for other AEP powered replicas as well from the TM stable or clones. including the Scorpion and TM MP7. This requires a couple of items but there is no soldering and no strip down required. As an added bonus you can still run the NIMH battery if you want.

You need a lipo balance charger also as the nimh one they come with won’t charge a lipo. The best way to use these macs is bushwhack style in a ghille as they are quieter than most AEG and gas, they have shit range however so ambushing is really what they are suited for. Good for room clearing and hip firing also as the peep sights are trash on them.

I completely agree. To be fair the supplied charger is not the best even if your using a nimh battery. The only problem you encounter is the bespoke connection.

@@rockbottomairsoft The battery connect is the one thing they shouldn't have cloned with the JG. Most people don't want to tear it open and solder new wires, can't say I blame them. That being said there is a great step by step tutorial video a guy did on KZfaq where he puts an 11.1V LIPO and Mosfet with a modest amount of modification, and that thing rips like any HPA or even faster at over 1600 RPM, he used the TM MAC 10 so I'm not sure if the JG gearbox is the same quality and I highly doubt it, but someone could do it if they wanted also. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jcuYh7Kg1uClXZc.html

Thanks I will check that out. I am considering tearing this one down and seeing what I can do with it. Usually JG boxes are built solid so I remain hopeful.

I just got my Mac 10 but my charger is not working when plugging it into the wall

Hi, sorry to hear your having problems. I know with mine I thought the same. However there's no indication on my charger. It just charges. Its also a "dumb" charger so you just have to leave it going and switch off after a little while. It takes a couple of hours. However if it's definitely not working I would return it to your supplier for replacement. Hope this helps.

You will need to use any balance charger that is able to charge through the balance lead. A lot of the more affordable chargers only charge via the balance lead so there are lots of options. A good quality charger is always worthwhile though so if you can get one that allows both and can charge with full features such as storage charge then that's even better. The RC world normally has the best range. Hope this helps.

Stock seems to be a real issue at the moment for the JG MAC 10. I actually bought this one from my home site Tazball Airsoft. They ordered it in for me. I believe it was obtained through iwholesales.

Hi. The only way to balance charge these batteries is to use a charger that is capable of charging through the balance lead. There are a number of options including one from Giant. Hope this helps.

Hi. Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes you should be able to use that battery but you will still need to use the adapter to run it in the MAC 10.

If your looking at evike this is a budget charger that will charge through the balance lead: www.evike.com/products/16472/ I've not used this one myself so I couldn't say how good it is. However there are quite a few similar chargers available. That is the kind of charger you will be looking at for these small capacity aep batteries.

No,not this... I can find a single video about it... And isn't so easy,one part little bit coveted from the black Plastic "cover" And lmg battery didn't tell you the positive and negative part.. 50/50 but if I pick he wrong one I can start a fire...

@marcelloventuri8898 If I understand correctly your worried about getting the polarity wrong. Best thing to do if your using the converter is check the polarity with a multi meter before putting the battery on charge and check that its not reversed. This would start a fire if you charge it reversed, well it could risk it if your charger is not intelligent. However if its reverse polarity in the replica you won't get a fire but you could run the motor in reverse and that will not do the replica any good, so again if you've managed to check the polarity with a multi meter then you should be good. Hope this helps.

I believe so the adapter should work for all aep based replicas.

Would a Titan 7.4V 3000Mah brick style lithium ion battery with a deans connector fit into that Marui converter? Also what do you recommend for upgrading an AEP motor for this mac 10?

Hi. The simple answer is no. The marui adapter will only work with AEP battery's. They have a proprietary connector which only works with the adapter. There may be enough space in the replica to just modify the connection point to deans and as you say fit a deans connector, this wouldn't require the marui adapter though. There are some online articles where people have done a similar modification. Upgrades for AEP's are rather scarse. However there are the usual hop rubber and barrel options. The gearbox can be shimmed and I believe there are some airseal components available. Again they are not easy to come by here in the UK though. I'm still doing research into upgrades for mine at the moment. The best and simplest upgrade does seem to be a lipo mod of some sort though. Whether using the method I use here or modification. Hope this helps.

@rockbottomairsoft Thanks for this. I am looking at getting a Mac 10 but the battery capacity does concern me a wee bit hence the question. I can probably get the connection swapped to a Deans, however before I buy I'd like to know if the aforementioned brick battery would physically fit width and height wise into the replica, is this something you can confirm if you have said battery in your collection?

I don't have that particular battery unfortunately. I am pretty sure you could fit a decent capacity in there though. However like I say it will take some modifications to enable a deans connection and to make the top into battery storage.

That's great, I'm glad to hear the videos help out. The adapters can be obtained from a number of ebay sellers that I found in the US or will ship from Japan to the US. Just search TM AEP lipo adapter on Ebay. There are also adapters at websites such as Evike. As for the AEP batteries it looks like Evike stock those to. I hope this helps.

Hi. Unfortunately you will still need this adapter to run the aep lipo batteries in it. The JG is basically a clone. Which one to get is down to choice and budget. However this jg has great range.
