The ensemble pitch is superb. In particular I am amazed by the first violinist. Every vibrated note seems to be perfectly centered. But I only notice his pitch more because of the high register. They have all clearly practiced the right way to play this well individually and together.

In a great quartet you need an exceptional 1st violin. Pierre Colombet is exactly that, with a recognisable sound of his own.

I believe this is one of Mozart's quartets dedicated to Haydn. Magnificent composition and performance.
