We were at the Edison 2 weeks ago. We had a similar experience. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre at best. The server never took any appetizer plates away, and walked away while I had a dirty plate in my hand. I had to put the plate on the floor, because there was literally no place on the table to put it! 😆 I would give it a 2/5.

I wish you had done this review earlier. We went there last trip. I agree with everything you have said. Terrible service and food great theming.

My wife and I have had the same kind of experience, both pre-Covid. Each time we felt both the service and food were middling-to-poor. The last time we went for lunch, we were also sat in the same area you were, and similarly, they seemed to shove everyone on that dance floor area despite there being plenty of room. Given the price, and the experience, it's essentially now the last place we'd go to at Disney Springs.

I was at Edison in October.. think it was a Sunday afternoon / lunch . Tables were full on the first floor area. Service was a bit slow.. however cocktails and food was good 🙈 it’s so disappointing to hear this place went south. This vid for sure will be a consideration when I’m at Springs and need dinning options

man i couldnt have had a more different experience! this was by a longshot the best experience ive had at disney! im a little bias tho because i have a massive soft spot for electro swing music. the vibe there is utterly magical if you are into steam punk stuff! and DAMN the Edison burger goes hard! but be prepared to spend 100+ on a drink. you go there for 18 year+ aged spirits. Definitely a highroller speakeasy place. (literally have a menu called “Highroller cocktails” and the cheapest thing on it is 34$) The gilded old fashion is the best old fashion ive ever had! and this is going to sound loony, but its worth 125$! they have cherries in it aged in burbon almost as long as ive been alive (im 23) they make maraschino cherries look and taste like dirt lol.

Wow! We've eaten in so many Disney springs restaurants. Our best experience was at the Edison. Food was excellent, entertainment was a blast.

We went to the Edison recently about the same time in the late afternoon and had the same drinks, sort of :-). I thought the old fashioned I had was above average, even without the smoke. I definitely did not want to take a chance on a $25 PB&J old fashioned, though. You are a brave man :-). My impression was the stream punk decor was fun, and the drinks were overpriced, but that describes a lot of places in Disney Springs. We actually really enjoyed the small back patio, right on the water. The afternoon views were lovely. We’ve been meaning to go back and check out the cabaret show, but it wasn’t running the nights we had available.

I cannot believe they would charge extra for tomato and onion?! Did the Chef have to get on The Living with the Land boat and harvest it himself?

I can totally understand the disappointment, and you’re right there are somethings that were out of their control but Oofta. Not good….next time we’re in town, I’ll treat for drinks at Jaleo!!!😊😊😊 I so want to try that salt foam margarita!!

Great review, I appreciate the heads up. To be honest I would rather know the places to avoid, than the go to places. And sometimes having a bad experience can carry over to the rest of the day. When you questioned the smoking up charge and the waitress just shrugged it off, it annoyed me as as well.

I appreciated this one.....we have been here a number of times, and each time, we just don't LOVE the cocktails..as you said..just OK. In their defense, we have eaten the turkey club more than once, it's definitely a share-huge...but I think we are done and wouldn't go back....our experiences were all pre.covid

Glad I saw this. I need a backup reservation at the Springs (depends if I have two local friends coming or just one) and was considering the Edison. I decided to go with Enzo’s Hideaway. If it’s just two of us, It’ll be Homecomin’ which is one of the few restaurants I don’t feel bad about visiting every time! Thanks for the info! I have worked and trained in customer service most of my life and the whole smoking issue would have made me lose my mind!

I have been to the Edison several times and had the best service and food. I had the Smoked Old Fashion as well before and mine have always perfect. But was never charged extra for it. Although it has been awhile since I have been there since my favorite Bar Tender left to become a manager to another location. I do not doubt your experience; just don't fully count it out.

Good to know. We're going for our 10 year anniversary in Nov, so this will not be on our list

Our tipping culture is very different here in the UK and based on the level of service, but am I right in thinking that it isn't the same over there and you would be expected to still pay the full service charge?

I had the same experience at the Edison. There on business, super excited about the vibe, so disappointed. Would never recommend. Down the street the Boathouse was great.

Well firstly, I won’t hear a word said against your homemade margaritas, Leslie. 10/10. 😂 On a serious note, I would have been so enraged about the upcharge! I’ll happily drop several hundreds of dollars on a good meal, but small injustices like that drive me mad!! I also can’t believe they have no plant-based options. Bizarre. We used to eat here a lot pre-Covid, but glad to hear it narrows down the choices in Disney Springs now!

11:08 I hear people complain about this all the time. It's because servers start their shifts on a staggered schedule. There was likely only one server working at that hour, so you were all sat in their section - it doesn't make sense to have one server running all over the restaurant. Once more servers come on shift, hosts will take turns seating people in each of their sections. Edit: to your point regarding how close together the tables are - they're still in another section. Once a new server comes on shift, they'll have guests who don't belong to them IN their section which causes confusion, and takes income (tips) away from them.

I wonder if they didn't have their best bartender working since it was a slower time of day. I'm not saying that's an excuse because paying that much you ought to get a very good drink, but maybe that was a reason. I would've been TICKED about the $5 charge without being told. Whether I paid it or not, I still would've still spoken to a manager and expressed my irritation about it. I've never eaten there, but now I won't either. LOL

Our son and grandson smoke their own Old Fashions..so I know about all that...but not telling someone about an up charge or noting it on the receipt is BS..........

$5 for her to melt your ice! You can buy a nice cigar for $5. Just like the real Edison ripped off Tesla, this place totally ripped you off, I hope you took that $5 off her tip.

So first off you are already negative about going to the Edison and you say so within the first 5 minutes. For you to say that you were a server once upon a time ago and complain that the water was low…was it ever empty nope it wasn’t and if you were a real server you would know that servers have designated sections and if she was taking care of all the tables around you then that means they were in her section. Lastly when do you ever get an extra or a table side service for free anywhere let alone Disney. Servers don’t set prices nor do they have any control of them. If you were real servers you would have known that

Let's be honest. Most dining (and ALL DRINKS) at Disney are overpriced. From quick service to table service, rare is the meal that is worth what you paid for. However, the only time we dined at The Edison our experience was wonderful. Food was tasty. Drinks were good. Still not worth what we paid for it though. You shouldn't base a decision to go to a restaurant based on one good / bad review.

We went to the Edison pre COVID with great hopes and left extremely disappointed! Like your experience the food was only ok, drinks were nothing special, prices were outrageous and the service was poor at best. And I am being kind at best! Being great fans of The Adventures Club we were expecting some connections. Not! Needless to say we were one and done!

Oh wow! We always considered going there because of the ambiance, but we will now skip it. Especially since one of us is a vegetarian!

We dined at The Edison about a year ago and it was wretched. The food, the service, a total horrible experience so right there with u on the thumbs down.

I've been there 2x and hated it both times. Very overrated food.
